  • This Suspended Tent Lets You Sleep In The Trees
    More info
This isn't some surreal work of art or alien structure – it's a tent! The Tentsile, a portable suspended tent (Tent? Treehouse? Hammock?) created by UK-based inventor Alex Shirley-Smith, solves the problem of setting up camp on rocky, muddy, or otherwise unpleasant surfaces by hanging from the trees. The Tentsile was envisioned by Shirley-Smith in 2010, and the first production model was launched in early 2013.

    More info
Using Stevie Nicks as our guide, we're throwing the ultimate celestial party – complete with tarot, crystals, and plenty of candles. Photos by Melissa Anne Tilley Above: Round Pintuck Pillow Since Halloween is fast approaching, we're feeling deeply inspired by all things mystical. To throw a celestial-inspired party, you'll want to stock up on plenty of candles and string lights, as well as several different party games for your guests to play. We're going for a '70s, Stevie Nicks-inspired vibe, so keep things as fun as possible. In order to maximize space for playing games and reading tarot, it's easiest to arrange a space on the floor to sit using various floor pillows and blankets. If you are going to be reading tarot cards, make sure to give yourself enough space to place the deck. Above: Golden Universal Tarot Card Deck Reading tarot cards is a fun activity for a celestial-inspired party, especially if you go into it with an open mind. If you've never used tarot cards before, there is a bit of a learning curve, but all decks come with a useful guide to help you learn how to do the different tarot card spreads, along with a breakdown on what each card means. There's also no hard and fast rule for interpreting tarot cards, which makes the exercise fun for you and your guests, especially if they're people you know well. For more insight into tarot, there are multiple books out there with tons of info on the art, like The Circadian Tarot by Michelle Blade. Once you've done it once, it's easy to get the hang of, and before you know it you'll be able to read into the cards a lot more. Above: Golden Universal Tarot Card Deck Above: Crystal Power, Crystal Healing What's a celestial party without crystals? Grab a few of your favorites and put them out for your guests to check out and explore. You don't have to go full Spencer Pratt with them, but looking at crystals and reading more about them in a crystal guide is always more interesting than one might think. Grab the Crystal Power, Crystal Healing book and help your partygoers figure out which crystals they should bring into their lives. There's pretty much a crystal for everything, so the possibilities are endless. (Plus, they make for super cute party photos, if nothing else.) Above: Mind's Eye Tapestry To cleanse the room, burn some sage. There are multiple different cleansing rituals out there, but we are big fans of burning sage to clear a room of bad energy. Once the room has been cleansed, you can pull out Astrology 101 and figure out what makes each of your guests tick. Some people don't know anything about their astrological sign, so it's fun to discuss, especially when tons of people can corroborate about whose personality best fits their sign. When you're looking to make a love connection, you can pull out Relationship Astrology and figure out who's meant to be together and who should totally call it quits. Shop Celestial Party
