2# in the Strange Creatures collections collection.
I chose long, flowing fabrics, dusty, pale, sandy colours, airy, light, and oceanic colours (reflecting the mythic homes of the djinn - desert wastes, the air and the ocean), elaborate golds, sparkly effects (fitting with the western, sparkly idea of genies) and a mix of modest and less modest cuts. I wish I had added more of a firey theme, but I like the light, airy colours and the ott gold accessories... I might add some fire element to it later.
On the djinn:
The jinn (Arabic: جن ǧinn, singular جني ǧinnī; also spelled djinn), or genies, are spirits mentioned in the Qurʾān and Islamic theology who inhabit an unseen world in dimensions beyond the visible universe of humans. Together, the jinn, humans and angels make up the three sentient creations of God. The Qurʾan mentions that the jinn are made of a smokeless and "scorching fire", and they have the physical property of weight.[clarification needed] Like human beings, the jinn can also be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent. The jinn are mentioned frequently in the Qurʾan, and the 72nd surah is entitled Sūrat al-Jinn.
