Hi! Hope you're well. I can't believe it's only been a week. Barcelona is amazing, I love it. I moved out of the hotel yesterday and into a lovely apartment. Apartment hunting was a pain, saw some truly dodgy ones. There was one which was entirely panelled in dark wood, it felt like I was in a really danky library, it was so dark. Then there was the one slap bang in the middle of the Red-light district with prostitutes milling about and one where I was greeted by three very stoned guys and whose bath, sink and toilet were asparagus green. I have experienced the wide spectrum of student apartments in Barcelona. I finally found a decent one relatively near to the university, it's in a very old but gorgeous building with a beautiful courtyard. My roommates are awesome. Arturo is Spanish and a graphic designer who rents the studio which takes up half the apartment. Yoann is French and Loredana is Italian so we've got quite the mix going on. The apartment is comfortable enough, the décor is a bit dated but the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and clean. I'm happy that my bedroom has a double bed and a little balcony even if the closet space isn't much.
Classes start tomorrow and I'm terrified. The system here is so different to my university in London, everyone from British universities have such confused expressions when the advisors are explaining what we have to do. I can immediately tell they're British by the big fat 'Huh?' across their faces.
Today was fun and chilled out. After three nights of partying we decided to enjoy the still warm weather and head to the beach. The water was a bit cold but it was perfect for the massive hangover we all had.
