I decided to start a new challenge, if anyone wants to join me, feel free! :) I am counting down from ten to one, my favourite actresses. These are all actresses who are still currently working. If I had included legendary actresses too, I may have had a much tougher time choosing!
At number two is Helena Bonham Carter. She's unique, quirky, talented and mesmerising to watch. I can't think of anything she has been in that I didn't love. From her earlier roles in period dramas, such as A Room With A View and The Wings of the Dove, to her Burton era films, in which she can explore her delightful eccentricities to the full. In the Kings Speech she was magnificent, as Queen Elizabeth, or as I think of her The Queen Mum! Even the Queen herself praised how Helena portrayed her mother.
My favourite role of her's though is Marla Singer in Fight Club. I found her electrifying and fascinating and she shone in a movie full of fantastic performances. She's my kind of woman, famous on her own terms and not afraid to be herself. Helena, I salute you.
