Heat wave. Meltdown drips with pop art flair from the colorful imagination of artist Grant Wiggins. Originally created as part of an art exhibit to illustrate the intense melting heat of Arizona, bold lines loop and swoop in a study of overlapping primary colors. Wiggins first brought his design to life with precisely cut paper forms, which "allowed me to explore the same pattern in a number of unusual, eye-popping color combinations." He later painted a full-scale version of the design, which has been digitally replicated here. Grant wiggins. Grant Wiggins is drawn to clean lines and vibrant colors, describing his graphic artwork as somewhere between minimalism and maximalism. Pop-style painted advertising images from the early 1960s first inspired him to start painting. He's now influenced by creative uses of line and color in everything from logos and packaging to soccer uniforms. Based in Arizona, Wiggins digitally sketches his designs first, improvising with every stroke, then replicates the finished work in acrylic on canvas. The longest day. Summer Solstice is an ethereal expression of the longest day of the year that heralds the beginning of summer. Artist Nancy Ortenstone painted this piece on the summer solstice, when the light is crystal clear. To the artist, "the painting is more about gesture and monochromatic simplicity than about color. Light was the guide. Gesture was the song." Her celestial interpretation was originally rendered with fluid acrylics on raw canvas, then enhanced with water pastel markings. This digital replica captures an evolving sense of movement through light and shadow. Nancy ortenstone. Nancy Ortenstone is deeply inspired by the beauty of nature, embracing the silence and quality of light that surround her in northern New Mexico. RFA Fine Art. "Delineation" Original Painting. Hand-embellished abstract giclee on canvas is signed and numbered by the artist, Robinson, as part of a limited collection of 300 pieces. Certificate of authenticity available upon request. 62"W x 2"D x 42"T. Made in the USA. About Robert Robinson:. By age seven, Robert Robinson had found a mentor who taught him oil painting plus technique, and he started painting rural landscapes, which he was told were quite complex for his age. Today Robinson's art is known for its high energy and mixed-media abstraction. For him, the image is secondary; rather, he manipulates the medium as that is the part of art that intrigues him. Painting is a very physical thing for him as he typically paints quite large spaces, including installation art. Currently painting on tar paper, the black scratch lines he creates are framed with difficult-to-design and labor-intensive carbon steel frames. The result is an elegant, symbiotic relationship between the two media and a powerful yet delicate art form.
