Aghhh making this so late :s been so busy and it was so tough picking a disney song. I mean they're all so great!
Make a set featuring your character’s favorite Disney song (or two). Feel free to dress in a character-themed outfit if you really want to act your part, but there’s no need to – after all, it’s one of our nights off.
I Won't Say (I'm in Love) // Hercules
I was nervous.
Quite a first for me actually.
I was fine with acting in front of a crowd. But singing? Not my thing. 'Specially when I was already a bit tipsy. But what can I say? Drinks just call to me like a siren to a sailor.
Plus I was pretty smashin' with makin' the drinks to. Perhaps I should consider becoming a bartender if this whole Disney thing didn't pan out.
Elena was singing /again/ and man, that girl has great pipes but after the third rendition of some song she needed to stop.
"Come on Alexis! Give us a break here!" Genie screamed into my ear. I winced, she was the loud drunk. Quite a common thing around these parts it seemed as the rest of the group shouted their agreement. Elena shot us all a dark look and continued to sing.
I let out a breath and was thankful for Elena's non stop need to show off her talent. Anythin' that'd prevent me from singing was golden. Elena finished singing another Ariel song and I stood up.
"ENCORE, ENCORE!" I boomed. Maybe this whole loud drunk thing was getting to me. I shrugged and downed another shot.
"What are you doing?" Gabriel hissed pulling me downward.
"Don't encourage her," Gabriel said with actual fear in his eyes. I bit back a giggle.
"Sorry. But I just really don't want to sing."
"Come on. At least it'd mix things up a little. I don't think I take one more emotional ballad," Gabriel spoke dramatically.
"Seriously Alexis. We need you," Genie implored. Oh god she was giving me the eyes. The big ole eyes that turn me into goo. Add this to the fact that I'm a bit of a push over drunk...
"Fine, I'll do it. But you have to be one of the muses." Genie cheered and followed me to the mic. My legs were shaking as I made my way up there. Elena finished her song eventually and in that exact moment she finished, I tapped her on the shoulder.
"Mind if I sing the next song?" I questioned with what I hope was a totally convincing smile. But probably more similar to the Joker's.
"Alright. But you have to let me be be one of the muses," Elena replied.
"Sure." I wasn't one to argue with Elena. She honestly was so competitive.
"So. I'm going to sing 'I won't say I'm in love'. From Hercules." I take a deep breath. This is it. The crowd is watching me expectantly.
"If there's a prize for rotten judgement
I guess I've already won that
No man is worth the aggravation
That's ancient history
Been there, done that," I began shakily. You could hear my nerves. Elena and Genie sang the muses part (much better then I could have) and then it was back to me. Damn.
Again my voice was shaking. The muses took over. Now I get into the swing of things. The fast pace of the song leads me on and I began to put more attitude in it.
"No chance, no way
I won't say it, no, no."
The song continued on and by the end I was smiling. I had done it! Applause was sounded from the crowd and it wasn't even forced.
Now I call that an accomplishment.
