Design Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa, 2007. 18/10 stainless steel. Made in Italy by Alessi. "We sought to create a set that would make people happier at table" - Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. "Sejima and Nishizawa draw in masterly fashion on nature, clustering together, as in a fruit basket, all the pieces of the set, which become apples, pears and silver fruit, an unlikely basket of high and subtle poetry, at the same time intellectual, feminine and fabulous." - A. Mendini, April 2003. The Fruit basket collection includes a teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and containers all in 0.8mm stainless steel. Each of the main structures, which is made in a single block without welding, are made by drawing with subsequent trimming operations. The upper edges were designed to prevent the lid from falling inside. The interiors are etched-sandblasted and the exteriors are polished. In 1995 Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa established the Sanaa partnership. They are active internationally in urban planning, landscape and interior design, exhibition installations and industrial design. Teapot is in 18/10 stainless steel. teapot: 6.8" w | 5.5" d | 6.9" h | 1qt. 16oz.
