Amanda Style: Wednesday Workday

I never forget that there's a way to retain your style and personality inside the practical restraints of your every day life. Today's the kind of day where I have meetings, tons of work to do, errands to run, friends to meet up with, and a million other things, so I need to be ready for anything. I retain a color pop — in my bag and skirt — for a much needed bump on this hump day, pair an unseasonable signature (a la black Trouve leather motorcycle jacket) with my end-of-summer look, and never skip on the practical elements: comfortable skirt I could go anywhere in, studded Jeffrey Campbell flat I could wear all day, Proenza PS1 bag I can carry everything in — laptop, lipstick, iPad, Moleskine, book, and other essentials — and hair that's fashionably out of my face. Add a dash of color on my cheeks and lips for the natural flush to match my mood, pour in a flair for the dramatic with Alexander McQueen carved cat-eye sunnies, give myself a badass rockout Black-Keys style, and I'm on my way to a hell of a Wednesday.
