    Alvar Aalto, the Finnish designer and architect designed the Golden Bell Pendant Lamp A 330S from Artek in the 1930s. Alvar Aalto and his wife Aino Aalto had the charge to shape the interior fitting of the Helsinki Savoy Restaurant. The elegant Pendant Lamp Golden Bell became part of the accommodation. Furthermore it was shown at the Finnish world exposition Pavilion in Paris. The Golden Bell light is delimited by the tight umbrella at its lower border. The light can spread out through the circular arranged decent holes at the same time. The light that shines through forms a bright corona, for a special atmosphere. The lamp was initially formed from a single brass piece. Besides the brass model, there are white painted steel and chrome types available today. The A 330S Pendant Lamp appears completely with a contact plug to the roof and a white synthetic, 2.5 m long cable. The manufacturer Artec suggests for the Golden Bell Pendant Lamp illuminant a 40 W bulb with an E 27 bulb fitting, or an energy-saving lamp with 7 W.

    Alvar Aaltos Pendant Light A110 from Artek, also known as Hand Grenade was designed in the year 1952. The worldwide known architect initially designed the lamp for the Finnish Engineer association building. Shortly after that, the same model A110 was used in the Säynätsalo City hall saloon. The Pendant Lamp is a Finnish design classic today. Because of its characteristic thin post and thick head form, that farther reminds of a stick hand grenade, the A110 Lamp gained the cognomen Hand Grenade.     Jørn Utzon designed the U336 pendant lamp for Artek in 1957. The architect started to design the opera of Sydney at the same time. It is clearly recognizable what he concentrated on, during that period. Jørn Utzon cooperated with Alvar Aalto several times back in 1946: “There is no doubt that the time he spent with Alvar Aalto had an influence on the design of the U336 lamp, and on his design work in general. The atmosphere in the office also had an important impact on his later career as an architect and a designer.” The U336 lamp is made of white painted steel. The slim neck of the lamp has an additional collar for the light to shine out of it as well. Both light sources and the innovative design of the U336 pendant lamp will enrich every home.     Tapuo Wirkkala designed his TW003 pendant lamp in 1960. It was given many awards on the Milan triennial in its simple, elegant and still distinctive style. The lampshade directly influences the unmistakable shape of it, and this is special because it isn’t really for the purpose of filtering the light beams. The unmistakable TW003 lamp was popular in only an instant, reaching international success. Artek re-edits the TW003 now, as an energy saving LED edition. The shape and appeal of the aesthetical pendant lamp remain unchanged despite of the technical advance. Artek manufactures the shade of the TW003 pendant lamp out of lacquered steel. The illuminant which influences the characteristic form of the lamp, which also suits in other E27 sockets, is also available separately.

    The pendant lamp A 440 is the sister of the classic Golden Bell Pendant Lamp. Both products were designed by the Finnish designer and architect Alvar Aalto for the company Artek. Contrasting the Golden Bell, A 440 consists of velvet-matt opal glass. The spreading light passes the lamp’s shade accordingly soft and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Designed in 1954, the pendant lamp A 440 can nearly be denominated new-interpretation of the Golden Bell out of the 1930es. Both lamps have something in common: Their organic form with straight and flowing lines. The unobtrusive design also makes the A 440 pendant lamp a timeless classic. The light of the lamp does softly border the velvet-matt glass shade and ensures pleasant atmosphere. The lampshade’s is open, so that below areas are accordingly illuminated. A contact plug to be connected to the ceiling as well as a white plastic cable is included in the delivery package of the A 440 pendant lamp.     Already in the year 1953, Alvar Aalto designed the suspension lamp. With its shape including transparent rings, the Artek A 331 ensures interesting light games. With its mix of organic forms and Nordic clearness, the Artek A 331 Pendant Lamp is a perfect embodiment of the Alvar Aalto style. The Finnish designer initially created the A 331 for the Jyväskylä University, but it soon became a bestseller among the lamps of Artek. No wonder, since it is sculptural and decorative simultaneously when it is switched on. The light goes directly downwards and diffusely through rings included in the corpus – with it, the A 331 pendant lamp is e.g. Perfectly suitable to illuminate dining rooms. The Artek A 331 suspension can also be equipped with a 15W compact fluorescent bulb (energy saving lamp) or with a 60W bulb.
