    Actress Gong Li, China, 1993 Born in Lyon, France, photographer Marc Riboud is best known for his extensive reports on the East. In 1957, he was one of the first European photographers ever to be allowed into China. Firsthand, Riboud has witnessed to the atrocities of war - photographing from both the Vietnam and the American sides of the Vietnam War, as well as the apparent degradation of a culture repressed from within - China during the years of Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution. His photographs have appeared in numerous magazines, including Life, Géo, National Geographic, Paris Match, and Stern. Twice he's won the Overseas Press Club Award, and he's had major retrospective exhibitions at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and the International Center of Photography in New York.     Vintage hardcover book Roy Rogers and the Ghost of Mystery Rancho, copyright 1950. This appears to be a first edition. Written by Walker A. Tompkins. Sixteen full page illustrations throughout book, done by Andrew Bensen. Published by Whitman Publishing Company in Racine, Wisconsin. Rusty-orange hardcover with white and navy blue accents on the front cover and spine. Measures approximately 8 inches tall x 5 1/4 inches wide x 1 inch thick. Books is in very good to excellent vintage condition. Very slight edge wear to corners and top and bottom of spine. Spine is quite solid. No writing or tears noted inside. Pages have disclored from age, but pages are crisp and clean and almost appear unread. Perfect addition to a collection of vintage Roy Rogers or western themed books. This would make a darling decor piece in a vintage inspired little boy's cowboy themed bedroom. Thanks for visiting!
