I sat down in one of the waiting five seats, ready for the assembly. The seats filled next to me quickly. I sat next to Elle, Vera on her other side and next to Vera Abbi. Bella sat next to me. The assembly as expected was boring. The headmistress jabbered on about how proud she was of us girls and how we had done so well. She obviously hadn’t seen my history exam yet. I popped my lips bored as the other girls clapped for something. Each one of the teachers got up and spoke their thoughts, I yawned. Then the exciting news came. Our parents were coming to visit. I smiled at the thought of my dad, coming to see me. I could introduce him to Aidan I thought happily. Elle stiffened beside me. I saw Vera squeeze her hand, and I smiled sympathetically at something I had no idea about.
 
When we were dismissed, Elle left the room in a hurry, her heels clacking on the floor, Vera right behind her. I looked at the other girls; they were looking around to for instruction on what to do. In the end we all decided to let Elle have her space. Vera would sooth her. We would wait for Elle, if she decided to confided in us and look for our support, and we would be more than ready.
