  • Crate & Barrel Studio Dark Clay 16-Piece Dinnerware Set
    crateandbarrel.com
Solid stoneware is glazed milky white and banded and textured with a wax-resist technique to expose unglazed colors of natural clay, stone grey, brown and terracotta. Designer Jono Pandolfi, whose table settings grace the tables of leading New York restaurants, returns to his roots as a potter to create the artisan-inspired iconic shapes of a mix-and match-dinnerware array that upgrades the look of casual. This pattern will be discontinued in January 2017.
  • Crate & Barrel 18th Street 16-Piece Dinnerware Set
    crateandbarrel.com
Modern and restrained in form, expressive and rustic in glaze. The artisan's hand is authentically reproduced in this stoneware pattern designed exclusively for Crate and Barrel by ceramic artist and designer Kathy Erteman at her 18th Street studio in New York City. A contemporary matte black exterior contrasts the rustic beauty of a shiny, speckled white glazed interior ringed with the subtly raised spiral associated with hand-thrown pieces. A raised clay rim features a sandy glaze that evokes the feel of exposed terra cotta. To capture the artisan look of this dinnerware, Erteman modeled prototypes to true scale by hand with her original glazes as reference for production. In the words of the designer, "When making tableware, I consider design and the rigors of daily use. The spirit of my hand in these pieces is modest, to harmonize with and act as a support to the prepared ingredients."
  • Crate & Barrel Marbury 16-Piece Dinnerware Set
    crateandbarrel.com
Multistep glazing and firing process invests Marbury's vintage-inspired shapes with a fresh, handcrafted look. Each earthenware piece is dipped in a black-stained clay slip that gets absorbed into the unfired clay body to create a colored surface. Pieces are then dipped into a translucent white glaze, which must be stirred with each dipping to ensure its transparency, to allow the underlying black to show through and accentuate the rims and saucer-like shaping.

The plates, mugs, bowls, and serving platters come in a variety of colors that blend together in a unique way - so you can mix and match, or simply choose a variety of shades that all complement each other. Founded in 1994 by Shelley Simpson, Mud Australia pieces are designed with an emphasis on linear form and function. Artisans work with only the highest quality materials including Limoges porcelain. Each piece is crafted by hand - this means slight irregularities in size, glaze, and texture may occur. This is to be expected with any handmade product, however, and is part of what makes each product truly unique and special. The porcelain clay is tinted throughout, as opposed to simply coloring the surface with a glaze. This gives a unique depth of color to each individual piece, and an above average consistency for handmade products. The interior is then coated with a clear glaze, while the outside is left natural, and lightly sanded to create a beautiful hand-feel. With time and frequent use, the exterior will become smooth from handling, adding to the individuality of each piece. The pieces are safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, and even the oven - perfect for everyday use! Available in a wide variety of colors:
