With school rapidly approaching, the days of summer are fading fast. Make sure you're prepared with the proper pieces to transition your wardrobe from summer fun to the classroom.

-Comfortable shoes.
Oh, I know. It's a drag not being able to wear pretty heels. But if you've got a lot of walking to do, you might want to spare your feet and go with a great pair of ballet flats or lace-up boots. If you've got to boost your height somehow, try a pair of wedges. They're so comfortable! Oxfords are also a great choice for fall. Trust me, your feet will thank you.

-A fitted blazer
Nothing dresses up an outfit quite like a blazer. The perfect fitted blazer always looks professional, but never appears stiff or matronly. Try it with a t-shirt and jeans on a chilly day or over your favorite dress for a night out or a job interview.

-A printed scarf
Living in neutrals can be boring. A scarf is the perfect way to perk up an outfit. Bright colors and bold patterns make for a more personal, eye-catching look.

-A skinny belt
Cinching the waist of a dress or blazer can change a look completely. Belts can draw attention to a small waist or even help fake naturally slim proportions.

-The perfect lace dress
In my opinion, lace dresses are appropriate for any occasion in any weather as long as you wear the right shoes and accessories. Wear one to class, to church, or out with friends. It always looks just right. Try one in burgundy, this season's standout color.

-A great coat
I don't like to spend tons of money on clothes, but I always spend a bit more on coats. Why? Because if you're going to be wearing a garment every day for three months, it better look great. Go for neutral outerwear with one special detail to make every outfit feel special. With proper care, the right coat can last you several years.

-Cardigans for layering
There's nothing like walking into class in your great outfit only to be shivering because your teacher is blasting the A/C. Autumn chill is a problem, and cardigans are the stylish solution. Make sure you have at least two, one in a neutral and the other in a bright color.

Don't want to stop wearing your summer skirts and dresses? Just add a great pair of tights and a cardigan or blazer. Tights can also add a bit of texture to an outfit.

-A pleated skirt
I've always though sharp pleats look beautiful, especially on a full skirt. They look great with Peter Pan collar tops and blouses, but a great skirt can make even a plain white t-shirt feel special.

-A satchel
Go for a quality leather bag that can hold all your essentials. Fossil's satchels are by far the best for the value. Snag one on sale at Dillard's or on Ebay.

-A Peter Pan collar necklace
I've always loved Peter Pan collars, but people would often laugh at me for wearing them. Now those same people who laughed are wearing them too! :) The right collar can be hard to find, but try some on to make sure they work with the necklines of your tops or dresses. There are so many options out there...studded, leather, sequined, lace...Modcloth.com, Chicwish.com, Forever21, Romwe.com, and H&M have great ones. You could even check Etsy or Ebay!
