TODAY'S EVENT - 27 - mackenzie is hosting a garden party for us. it will take place behind the tennis courts. dress up, and throw on your heels, it's gonna be a great night.
MACKENZIE NEEDS DRAMA.
"Hey! Thanks for coming!" I say smiling to all the people coming. Some have bags under their eyes (probably from a hangover) and others are smiling with arms linked with their beaus. Then Saph walks under the canopy of vines I made with Lylah. Her eyes are as swollen as the watermelons before I cut them into little hearts for the people to eat. They're red and she's almost trembling. Like if she's been crying all night. I rush over to her, very very concerned.
"Saph!" I whisper shout.
She looks at me with innocent, sorrowful eyes and I run over, pulling her behind a bush.
"I really don't feel like talking right now Mackenzie," she said, looking at her toes.
"I can see that..." There's silence for a bit and then I grab her by the arms lightly.
"Saph, it's okay. Really. It might take Pepper some time, but she'll get around. Don't worry."
"No! She'll never get around! You don't understand!"
"I do understand Saph!" I say.
"No. No. You don't Mackenzie, okay?! You don't get it because you're this perfect little angel who doesn't ever make mistakes! And I make mistakes. Too often," she says, and the streams are strolling down her face.
"Don't say that Saph. I am not perfect. And yeah, you do make mistakes, but /everyone/ does. You're not the only one!" I tell her.
"Well I make too many," she says with a lower voice now.
"No. Not true," I try to convince her.
"You don't even know me."
"And? What I'm saying is true. We are h.u.m.a.n. We make mistakes," i say.
"Story of my life."
"Saph, cheer up. I know what happened was a shock to lots of people, but it doesn't mean that you're not sorry and that you meant it, okay? The people that care about you know that you would never do something like that on purpose. And those who haven't realized it yet, well...they'll realize it soon," I say in a calm voice.
She nods silently. "Now go enjoy this party. Go grab yourself an ice cold beer and some watermelon," I tell her. She smiles and walks off slowly, but she turns around and looks at me.
"Thanks Mackenzie. It's still going to be hard, but thank you," she tries to smile.
"You're welcome," I grin.
I take out the sandwiches from the basket I brought and set them along the table. I feel hands on my eyes and a voice that says, "Guess who?"
"Hmmmm...obviously a girl." I grin.
"What?! Are you calling me a girl?" He takes his hands off and I laugh out loud.
"You know I was jokingggg," and I give him a hug. He chuckles.
"So, I wasn't aware that my girl is an amazing party planner too?" I processed this phrase in my mind about thirty times before I asked him a question.
"Did you just call me your girl?" I asked Zachary.
"Well, I mean, do you want to be my boy? 'Cuz that would be awkward...you know?"
I laughed again and smiled. "So the answer is, yes, I did just call you my girl," he replies.
I throw my arms around his neck and lay my head on his chest with the biggest smile in the world. "Well, I guess that means you're my guy now. And yes, your girl is a multi-talented freak," I say jokingly.
"Minus the freak part," he winks.
"Nah, I'm a freak. Truusttt me."
"Are you giving me second thoughts on dating you?" he says sarcastically.
"No, no, no!" We laugh simultaneously. "Well, I can't leave my guests when I'm the hostess! I've got to get back to the party...talk to you later!" I walk off after giving a little wave and he nods in reply. Hope this will be better than it was with Chase....
By the way, Chase is the boyfriend that abused Mackenzie. Naomi, I hope you don't mind I used Saph for more than half my story haha please let me know if I portrayed her wrong <3
