The bedroom can be both the easiest and hardest room to decorate. It’s easy because you already know the centerpiece: the bed. It’s hard because you often have to agree on the decor with your significant other, but that comes later.
First things first: decide what size and type of bed you’re going to have. Once that key decision is made, you’ll know how much space you have left.
The second step, if you get dressed in your bedroom and/or need a reading/study area, is to figure out how much storage and additional furniture you’ll need in the room. Measure the remaining floor area, making sure to allow space for walking and for opening drawers and cabinet doors.
Now that you know how big your furniture can be, the third step is to choose what you want! Here’s where you and your significant other can decide on styles, color and pattern.
The fourth and last step is to accessorize. Bed linens, paint, window coverings, throw pillows, rugs, lighting and art can make the room your haven.
