The 1920’s heralded us into the modern era, a new society of independence brought about by economic changes, great inventions, and mass production. This new spirit of optimism marked the biggest revolution of fashion too. Gone was the restricted corsetry of the Edwardian era. Social mores changed and the evolution of music and the invention of the first radio gave our culture and the young an immensely popular pastime that still remains today. The dresses of the 1920s perfectly suited the frenetic fashionable dances and allowed freedom of movement. Hemlines were raised, waists dropped and sleeves shortened or removed.
