The Brit Pack: British Musicians
#4: One Night Only

Formed in 2003, One Night Only is a British rock-indie band, originated from North Yorkshire.
Their band name only came about when they were asked to perform a gig. They came up with ‘One Night Only’ as they only intended to play for one night, however it stuck with them. In their early days, they first performed in Kirkbymoorside Memorial Hall which was a popular music venue. Also, the band has made an appearance on the ‘The Friday Night Project’ in which they performed ‘It’s About Time.’
Their first album was called “Started a Fire” and this was recorded at RAK Studios. Their single “You and Me” failed to make it into the UK Top 40, reaching at 46. But their second single “Just For Tonight” had more success, reaching no.9 in the UK Singles Chart. Their single was released in 2008 with the album a week later.
Since releasing ‘Started a Fire,’ the band are said to have written more then 25 new songs. Their new album was due to be released in the summer of 2009, but was released a year later in August 2010. Songs such as Intention Confidential, A Thousand Dreams, Daydream, Live It Up and Hurricane were meant to be included in the self-titled album, but didn’t make it. Daydream and Hurricane were listed as a B-Sides CD and on an iTunes Bonus track.
Their first single taken from their new album was ‘Say You Don’t Want It,’ released on August 16. Lead singer George Craig started to model in Burberry campaigns since 2009-2010 alongside Harry Potter star, Emma Watson and this led to her appearing in the band’s music video.
The second single to be released is ‘Chemistry.’
Following the success of their first tour in 2008, the band began to release videos of themselves on MySpace and YouTube. This influenced the band to upload videos every Wednesday to keep fans informed of what they were up to, called ONO Wednesdays.

Gosh, I love One Night Only! I found out about them when I watched the Friday Night Project and I loved their music since then ^-^ Their new album is amazing! It actually surprised me. I’m so gutted I missed out of seeing them live...this was only after I listened to their album and found out how good it is!
Glad to add ONO to my British Musicians Collection :D
A couple of new posts, some my screen printing work and also...that Paramore concert :)
