original rp - 4th volume - est. November '16 not a continuation, but a 4th take - new characters required, open for everyone to join! (This group isn't based off of Rick's norse series; it's more like a norse version of camp half-blood. So anything Rick mentioned / made up for his series doesn't apply here.) Hidden well away from unwanted mundane eyes in Canada, lies a rainbow bridge which divides the ordinary from the extraordinary; the passageway to camp Midgard, a safe haven built for the descendants of the Norse gods to reside in. Complete with a beautiful scenery - the surrounding mountains usually decked in snow, a big lake and pine tree woods - it is where the demigods come to train and prepare for the ultimate battle of Ragnarok; but not before kicking some serious but.t while they're still alive in this world. Camp Midgard is not unlike its Roman and Greek counterpart, Camps Jupiter and Half-Blood. Sure, it's colder and the aesthetic's a lot more fitting of a modern day hipster's kinfolk instagram, but the idea behind it is roughly the same. To keep campers safe and well away from the dangers of the outside world and the monsters that hunt them, and to train them to be the best warriors they can be. Families are complicated, especially ones that involve deities. It doesn't take much for drama to occur, even amongst the Norse. Especially when quests are at stake and everyone wants to be the best they possibly can be, to earn their rightful place in Valhalla or simply to just survive this and perhaps one day live a normal life, or as normal a life as someone half-godly can lead. When they're not training, well, even the Norse know how to party. Left or right bank of the lake, you'll always find a place to let lose and set yourself free - or, at times, even the two sides (divided, like the gods) come together in one big celebration. Not everything's a party though. When you enter camp, you need to be prepared that hangover or not, you'll have to wake up at six and train hard. We've all got silver in our blood. And family is family. The norse are ready. Hear them roar. ** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - TATTOOS;; are a big part of camp Midgard! The more you have the more badas.s you are :P but no, really there's a lot of symbolic meaning behind the tats of Midgard - the camp even has its own parlor! Each cabin - each god - has its own signature tattoo that is tattooed upon the skin of the kin when they arrive / are claimed. The rest is up to each individual. Some get tattoos just for aesthetics. Others have meaning behind them. No one's here to judge you. - RAGNAROK;; is a series of future events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. - VALHALLA;; is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. Chosen by Odin, half of those who die in combat travel to Valhalla upon death, led by valkyries, while the other half go to the goddess Freyja's field Fólkvangr. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat known as Einherjar, as well as various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during the events of Ragnarök. - FOLKVANGR;; is a meadow or field ruled over by the goddess Freyja where half of those that die in combat go upon death, while the other half go to the god Odin in Valhalla. - AESIR AND VANIR;; two groups of deities, that went into war with each other and were later joined into a single pantheon.
