Or a lady to sweep other ladies off their feet. :-)

Not sure about both the pin and the necklace, but I wanted each of them. I like the romance of the rose and the outness of the pin.

Seriously, I need to get out and date. It's irritating because I mainly interact with people at work, and while I have some friends, I don't really have any I could go lesbian bar-hopping with. I mean, my honey--that would paint the wrong picture, like we're looking for a threesome or otherwise that I'm one of *those* bi girls. And the closest friend I have is a belligerent straight guy who's actually been tossed out of a lesbian bar before.

And then there's the Phoenix-factor. Frankly, I don't like people here as a rule, so I'm leery of what I'd find. Further, with that show The L Word defining lesbianism for so many gay women, I'm concerned that's what I'll find.

I used to be scared--probably from tentatively browsing personals ads online--that any girl I'd meet would have issues with my issues and neuroses and what-have-you. Then my first girlfriend. I remember I was getting ready to finally take the bus for the first time, and I was so nervous and scared about it. Then she calls, while I'm getting my things together. And I burst into tears about the whole thing. And she's cool. She doesn't try to tell me to get over it or that I'm being silly or whatever. She just said, "I know! I was so scared the first time I did it too!" And gave me some advice and stuff. It was a good moment because it's like there's all these fears you accumulate--and god knows, I've had more negative experiences with females than males. High school alone. We can be such b!tches to each other.

Oh, and the title is a reference to Captain Jack from Torchwood, incidentally.

This is awesome, I would certainly watch the adventures of Captain Jane! ... and I hope 3 years on your frustrations have lessened :)

If Cap Jack were to go Orlando on us...he would adore this.

I really like this. It's such a cool mix of masculine and feminine things. Anyway, best of luck on your quest! :)

On a completely frivolous note, I'd sell my nonexistent firstborn for that coat. Not that I'm shallow, or anything. On topic, Anglepoise has some pretty sound advice.
