[FLASHBACK]
I stepped out of the classroom as my phone started ringing. I pulled it out and saw Addie’s face on my screen and smiled, “Hey.”
“Hi babe. What are you doing?” She asked me.
“Just heading back after class…” I said as I opened the door of my apartment and walked straight to my bedroom, throwing my keys and my backpack on my desk, “How’s your day going babe?” I asked, kicking off my shoes.
She paused, “Not too bad, I can’t complain or anything, but it’s been long.” I could hear her smile on the other end.
I nodded, “Yeah, I know that feeling. I think I’m going to take a nap or something because I am exhausted and I should be studying for my midterm.” I laid back down on my bed.
“I’m sorry babe.”
“it’s not your fault!” I grinned as I heard the doorbell ring, “Someone’s at the door.”
I stood up and headed for the front door, “It’s probably one of Dean’s girlfriends or something, wondering where he is.”
I said pulling the door open and saw Adele standing there with a big grin on her face, “Surprise.” She said.
I turned my phone off and stuck it into my pocket and I gave her a big hug and kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back. She pulled away as I smiled at her, “I can’t believe you’re here!”
She ran her fingers through my hair, “I really missed you.”
I kissed her again, not able to get enough of her. I pulled her inside and we went and sat on the couch as she rested her head against my chest, “Are you sure you don’t want that nap now?” She asked with a giggle.
I grinned, “Well, you can always take a nap with me…” I trailed off, squeezing her tighter against me.
“Right now?” She pulled away, looking at me with a smirk.
I shrugged, “Well it’s been awhile since we last saw each other…”
“But it’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon?” She started giggling.
I shrugged, “So?” I smirked.
“Okay.” She said as she pulled me up, “Where’s your bedroom?”
I grinned and nodded my head in the direction of my room, but as soon as I did, the door started to open.
“F*ck.” I breathed out as I saw Dean walk in.
He smirked at the two of us, “Adele! Will didn’t tell me that you were coming…” He trailed off.
“Will had no idea because I surprised him.” She grinned as she waved at him.
“Was I interrupting something?” He asked bluntly.
I sighed, trying not to be too disappointed, “No… you weren’t.”
“Yeah, Will was actually going to go take me sightseeing. Right baby?”
I nodded, spending time was Adele was great, but it was even better when it was spent naked and in bed.
I led her to my room so she could change, “I feel kind of bad now for making you take me sightseeing.” She pouted.
“Don’t be.” I winked as I leaned down to kiss her on the lips, “So where do you want to go?” I asked as I took my shirt off, opening the drawer and grabbed a clean shirt.
“I don’t know, sightseeing wasn’t really in my plans.” She laughed, opening her bag, grabbing some clothes. I looked over at her with a smirk as she started undressing.
“And what were your plans exactly?” I asked her as she slipped her shirt on and walked towards me.
“I think you got the idea…” She said, winking as I placed a hand on her waist. She kissed me and then pulled away, “Taking a nap, of course.” She teased.
“Please tell me you mean not exactly napping.” I smirked at her.
“Well my version of napping doesn’t have anything to do with sleep.” She said kissing me.
I kissed her deeper as my hand ran down her back, landing on her a.ss. She slowly pushed me away, “Before we go out anywhere you have to take my picture.” She grinned, pulling a camera out of her bed.
I started smirking and raised my brow, “A picture?” I said assuming something dirty.
“Not like that you perv!” She started giggling as she lightly pushed me, “It’s for my blog!”
“Right.” I smiled, as I held up the camera and started taking a few pictures.
“Thank you.” She smiled back as she took the camera and placed it back in her bag.
“Do you talk about me on your blog?” I smirked.
“I do….” She trailed off giving me a sly smile.
“What do you say?” I grinned.
“That I’m in a long distance relationship with an extremely sexy and smart guy,” She wrapped her arms around my neck, “Who is all tattooed up and is the most amazing guy ever.”
I smiled and kissed her, “Really? All that for me?”
She shrugged, “Yeah, I write about you a lot.”
"But don't let it get to your head..." She said trying to be serious. "I'm not into cocky guys"
She smirked as I grabbed her hand and said, "Let's go"
 
[PRESENT]
“I have to go get something to eat.” I tossed my papers down on my desk as Liam looked at me with an eyebrow co.cked, “Do you want to come?”
He yawned as he shook his head, “I really have to finish this before I do anything. Bring me back a burger or something.”
I smirked as I threw my jacket on, “Of course. See you in a few.”
I walked into the restaurant and nodded at the hostess. I was a usual here and she knew who I was, but then I saw Adele, sitting in a booth by herself. Did I say something? Did I acknowledge her? Do I wave?
I gave her a wave and she gave me a small smile and waved… god I missed that smile.
“To your table Mr. Kintzer?” The hostess asked me.
“Give me a second…” I said as I slowly walked over to her, “Hey…” I said nervously.
She gave me a smile as she looked at me, “Hi Will…”
“Where’s Bennett?” I asked her as she gave a small chuckle.
“She already ate, so I came by myself…”
I smiled and paused before saying anything, “Can I join you?”
“You want to join me?”
I nodded, “Yeah…”
“I would love you to.” She motioned for me to sit down.
“Thanks…” I said quietly. I wasn’t sure what I was doing. I broke up with her… but I f*cking missed her, what was wrong with me?
“How are you?” She asked, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“I’m good.” I shrugged, not sure what else to say, “You?”
“I’m good too.” She smiled a little. I missed her, so much and it was just getting worse.
I cleared my throat and looked down at my menu, “So are you ready to order?”
She shrugged, “I’m not sure what to get…”
“Really?” I asked confused, “You always ordered the BBQ chicken with a small salad.” I gave her smile.
“I didn’t think you’d remember.” She smiled at me.
I sat straight up and smirked, “Come on, Addie. You know me… I’m not a forgetful guy.”
She blushed, “Yeah, but maybe I’ll have something different today.” The waitress came by and I ordered a burger while Addie ordered shrimp and fries.
“I’m sorry this is so awkward.” I said as she bit into a french fry.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“It’s my fault, for avoiding you for so long. If I wasn’t such a d*ck, this situation might be better.”
She shook her head, “Will don’t be so hard on yourself! I can see where you were coming from honestly… I didn’t come to Chicago when you asked and you were hurt.”
I tried not to think about it, but it still hurt, “I was a jackas.s.” I said honestly as she gave me a small grin.
“Well, I won’t say you weren’t, but still… I might have deserved a little bit of it.”
I shook my head, “No, you didn’t Addie. I’m sorry, really.”
“Well I accept your apology.” She smiled eating her food.
“I’m glad.” I smiled, biting into my burger, “I have a question.”
She raised her brow, “What is it?”
I paused, trying to think of how I was going to say this, “Would you like to go on a date with me….”
She looked at me and stopped eating, “Seriously?
I nodded, “I’m trying to make up what I did to you.”
“So it would be like an I’m-sorry-I-was-a-jacka.ss-kind of date?” She joked with a smirk.
I laughed, “Yeah, Addie. It’s an apology date.”
“I would like that.” She took a sip of her drink, “I’ve missed you.” She said suddenly as I looked at her, deep into her eyes.
“Me too.” I told her honestly.
My phone started ringing and I wouldn’t have picked it up, but it was Liam, “I really have to take this.” I said regretfully.
“It’s okay.” She smiled as I picked up the phone.
“What?” I gritted out, trying not to be angry.
“Your assistant came in and told me you had a meeting in twenty minutes.” He told me.
“Sh*t.” I breathed out, completely forgetting about all of it, “I’ll be there in a few.”
“Hey, you didn’t forget to get me anything, did you?” He asked.
“Yes, I did, but you can have my leftovers.” I told him as I waved down the waiter and handed him my credit card.
“What?! I wanted a huge cheeseburger!” He argued with me.
“That’s what I got, I have to go now bye.” I hung up the phone and looked over at Addie, “It was Liam.”
“I could tell.” She grinned, “You two are like a bickering old married couple.”
I grinned, “Funny, but I have to go now. I got a meeting in twenty minutes.”
“That’s okay.” She smiled as I stood up and grabbed my to-go box, “I’ll call you when I figured out what to do on our date.” I told her.
“I can’t wait Will.” She grinned as I leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
“I’ll see you later.” I waved goodbye as I walked out with an actual smile on my face for the first time in a long time.
