Made in Japan of high quality white ceramic with a saturated orange color enamel finish, the beautiful minimalist decanter carafe features an ergonomic Modernist design with sculptured finger grip spots for effortless handling and pouring from the simple spout that is perfectly designed. The set includes a decanter beverage carafe & 4 small cups. The decanter measures 4 1/4" W X 4 1/4" D X 8 1/4" H, the cups each measure 2 1/4" W X 2 1/4" D X 3 1/2" H. The set is in very good vintage condition consistent with age and use ( there is slight variation in the enamel finish on one side in a small area on the decanter and the underside has some wear to the enamel finish, please see photos ). The set is now being offered here for an excellent price.

    This ceramic stoneware pitcher was designed by Kaj Franck, one of Arabia’s most gifted designers in the 60′s. It has cute graphics on both sides very representative of a classic iconic Scandinavian Mid-Century Design. Let your imagination run wild, looks great filled with pencils or paint brushes or a great addition to anyone's collection. Just about 6 1/4" tall. Handpainted under glaze. Pre-owned and loved, wear commensurate with age. There is some crazing, no chips, inside has some discoloration. Could possibly be cleaned if you desire. Marked: (Arabia crown logo), Arabia, Made in Finland. Very rare and desirable, highly collectible piece. What a beautiful vintage Arabia of Finland's Heluna Cow design pitcher from the 1960s! This design features two dark green or teal cows or bulls on white. Arabia is a Finnish ceramics company that was founded in 1873 by Rörstrand. The shape of this striking pitcher was designed by Kaj Franck with decorations by Anja Juurikkala. It is one of the larger sizes of the series at a height of 6.25" and a width of about 8" from spout to handle. The colors are crisp and vibrant. Overall, this piece is a wonderful example of mid-century modern, scandinavian ceramic design! Underneath the crest reads " The Shelburne ". Bottom shows makers mark. About The Shelburne: The Shelburne Hotel was a resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey located at Michigan Avenue and the Boardwalk. Built and opened in 1869, the hotel was originally a wood-frame cottage. Following several expansions, under the direction of hotel manager Jacob Weikel, a modern, brick-faced, steel frame, multistory structure was constructed along Michigan Avenue at the corner with the Boardwalk. This portion of the hotel opened in 1926. The hotel was a fine example of Georgian Revival architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
