Glee is my muse today for my first mini story in a while. Every song they've covered so far has been wonderfully done, so I thought..hey! I'll base a story upon one of the songs.
I don't know if it's always been this way, but last time I remember it used to say you have x number of contacts not x number of followers. It makes me seem like some sort of cult, ha.
Anyways, here's the story. & sorry about the length. I didn't realize it was so long until after I wrote it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His eyes.
His hair.
The way his upper lip twitches when he gets nervous.
His gorgeous body.
I love everything about him.
However, he has no idea.
While he's trying to figure out the answer to number two on the Physics Lab, I'm trying to figure out how I'll get him to ask me to Prom.
"Is this how you do number two?" My beautiful knight in shining armor asks.
"Umm, let me see." I reply as I try not to freak out about how close he's to me.
Everything was wrong. You don't use Newton's Second Law to solve this problem, and the square root of 25 does not equal 10.
My prince charming is beyond gorgeous; however, his IQ isn't.
"You used the wrong formula for this part, but I'll help you fix it," I smile as I give him back his paper.
"Thanks," he says as he gives me a smile that could be an alternate source of light.
It took about 20 minutes, 20 minutes that I could have used to finish my Jane Austen novel, but I think even Ms.Austen would have stopped writing for a mere 20 minutes to help this beauty.
"Allison, guess what?" one of my best friends in the entire world asks as she sits in the seat between Prince Charming and I.
"What, Faith?" I ask while trying to acknowledge through subtle hand motions that she was interrupting probably the only intimate moment I'd have with this beautiful being.
"Glass is playing at Giada's!" Faith smiles as she squeals like an obsessed fanatic.
"You have to be kidding me?!" I smile as I join Faith in the squeal party.
Glass is a pretty well-known band around here. They are not nationally known, but I know someday they will. They've got the looks of European Supermodels and the lyrics that even the most famous of poets would be jealous of.
"When?" I smile as my voice goes up another octave.
"TONIGHT!!!" Faith squeals as she gets up from her seat.
"Faith, shhhh!!" Mrs.Gibbson says as she walks by my table.
"Sorry, Mrs.Gibbson," Faith replies as her cheeks turn a tint of red.
"They're probably sold out," I groan.
Giada's is big, but it isn't big enough to fit all of the crazy obsessed girls of Maple Hills, and guys.
"Luckily, because Tom is the most amazing best friend in the entire world, he got us tickets," Faith smiles as she pulls the tickets out of her backpack.
"No-Omg-Shut-Tom, you have to remind me to attack him with a huge hug after Physics is over," I smile as I get a closer look at the golden tickets.
"This is crazy," I smile as I hand the tickets back to faith.
"It'll be John, Kevin, Richard, and Henry for 3 hours of bliss," Faith replies as she pretends to faint in her seat.
"I'm seeing Glass tonight too," Prince Charming smiles as he takes out his tickets.
"and Taylor Andrews, a.k.a Mr.Gorgeous," I whisper to Faith.
After contiunally thanking Tom for getting us tickets to see Glass, we arrived at Giada's twenty minutes early. Tom works at Giada's which is why he was able to get us the tickets of a lifetime; however, the downside is that we'll have to stay with Tom until it closes because Tom is the only person that can take us home.
"Hi Giada," Tom smiles as we walk into the trendy coffee shop part mini performance hall.
"For the first time since you've worked here, you're early," Giada laughs as she hands Tom an apron.
"Hey girls, I'm guessing you're here for Glass?" Giada smiles as she wipes down some of the coffee tables.
"yes!" we both chirp in unison.
"I don't know what you girls see in them, I can sing better than them," Giada replies.
"They've got the looks of a greek god," Faith smiles as she grabs a rag from the table.
"Greek gods?" Tom laughs as he starts up the expresso machine.
"They're gorgeous," I smile as I help with wipping the tables off.
"Yeah, but you probably think Mr.Handsome is even more gorgeous," Faith laughs as she heads to another table.
"Well yeah, but if the guys in Glass were closer in age. He'd be number two and they'd all be number one," I smile as I fix my dress.
"Who is Mr.Handsome?" Tom asks as he raises an eyebrow.
"no one," I blush.
"Come on, you started talking about him, so now you have to tell me his name. I will not stop bothering you until you do, and besides I tell you everything," Tom replies as he walks over to me.
"Umm..well, I-
"It's Taylor Andrews," Faith smiles as she runs to the otherside of the room.
"Hey!" I groan as I run after her.
"You were going to tell him anyways, so I thought that I'd do you the favor by telling him for you," Faith smiles as I decided not to permanently bruise her.
"Taylor?? Taylor is a jerk, and he still has trouble with the fact that two plus two equals four," Tom replies as he squeezes the life out of one of the rags.
"It's just a crush Tom. It's not like its going anywhere," I laugh as place my rag onto the counter.
"Yeah, but you didn't hear what-
"Hear what?!" Faith smiles as she runs over to Tom.
"Nothing, it's nothing," Tom replies as he goes to the back of the room.
Tom's P.O.V:
"It's Taylor Andrews," Faith smiles as she runs to the otherside of the room.
Those words hurt worse than a bee sting.
Why?
How?
What would make someone want to have a crush on that?
What she really needs is to have a crush on me. I'd be a dependent boyfriend, loyal, loving, everything she wants and more. Taylor just wants to get in everyone's pants.
I heard him talking about her today after Football practice in the Locker Room, and I had to stop myself from attacking him.
"She's really changed," Taylor chuckles as I walk over to my locker.
"Who?" Brent asks as he pulls out a pair of pants from his duffle bag.
"Amber Branchow, " Taylor replies as he looks at himself in the mirror.
It's Allison Branchaw. He never gets anything right.
"Isn't she that really smart girl in our Physics Class?" Brent asks as he opens up his locker.
"Yeah, but she's more than that. She's actually pretty hott. I remember last year she was a stick with nothing in the front or the back. She's got a body now, and the view is amazing. I could see myself with her," Taylor smiles as he covers himself with Axe, the woman-repellent.
"She'd probably turn you down. She is way too smart for you," Brent laughs as he chucks his towel across the locker room.
I looked over at the other guys, and then up at the sand-colored ceiling, hoping that this conversation was just a dream.
"Yeah, but if you were me this afternoon, you'd be thinking something different. She was helping me with problem two on the Physics Lab, and the way she leaned over onto my side of the table to help me was incredibly sexy. Also, her hair smells like this perfume that my mom was going to buy for my sister, it's amazing. I'm telling you Brent, she's definitely changed from last year, and it's a good change," Taylor smiles as he closes his locker door.
It's not a dream.
"Then ask her out," Brent replies as he puts on his shoes.
"I am, at Giada's. I've got tickets to see Glass and I overheard that she's going to see them as well," Taylor replies as he gives one of his winning smiles.
"She doesn't seem like the type that'd let you bag her," Brent replies as he picks up his duffle bag.
"I'll get her," Taylor winks as he walks out of the locker room.
I wanted to vomit after I heard Taylor's conversation with Brent.
"She can't talk to him tonight," I whisper to myself.
I didn't want her being on Taylor's Used List.
Allison's P.O.V:
"This is crazy!" I try to yell over the volume of the band as I jump to the beat of the music.
"I owe Tom," Faith smiles as she puts her hands in the air.
"Next song is a personal favorite that I believe most of you have probably heard, It's Lean on Me by Bill Withers. The guys and I thought we'd take our own personal spin on the song," John smiles as Kevin starts to play a back beat.
"I'm going to get a water," I say to Faith as I walk over to the register.
"Get me one," Faith replies.
"Hello stranger, I'd like two bottles of water," I laugh as Tom walks to the cooler.
"Alright, that'll be $2.00," Tom replies as I hand him the money.
"So, what do you think of Glass?" I ask as Tom hands me the two bottles.
"They're okay," Tom replies.
"Okay!?" I reply as my mouth literally drops to the floor.
"Yeah, they sound like every other rock-pop band that's out there," Tom replies.
"They are so much more than that, they've got soul, talent, and great hair," I smile.
"I've got great hair," Tom replies as he does a Baywatch walk.
"Yeah, it's gorgeous," I laugh as Tom blushes a little.
"Did you talk to Mr.Handsome?" Tom asks
"No, I haven't seen him all night," I reply
"Neither have I," Tom replies
"Or wait...I think he's over there," I smile as I look over near the front of the stage.
Tom's P.O.V:
I watched as my crush and best friend since kindergarten walked over to the guy I absolutley loathed.
I watched as Taylor turned away from his group of friends and saw Allison. It made me sick to know what Taylor's ultimate objective was. Does he really think of her as only some girl that he can tag? If he only really knew Allison, he'd realize that she's much more amazing than a one week relationship that ends in a pregnancy test and angry parents.
Allison's P.O.V:
Suprisingly, this was the first time where I didn't feel like I was going to faint when talking to Taylor.
When talking to him it was like he was working inside my brain because we agreed on everything.
Everytime he'd ocassionally touch my hand or shoulder, a million butterflies would enter my stomach.
"You look great," Taylor smiles
"Thanks," I blush as I look down at the floor.
"Are you doing anything to-
"So, would you guys like to try our new Pumpkin Latte? They taste just as good as Starbucks," Tom smiles as he interrupts our conversation by shoving an orange flyer in my face.
"Tom, no." I reply trying to give a hint as I give the flyer back.
"But it's only $2.50 for a large. It's really such a great price for such a large amount," Tom replies as he points at the flyer.
"Tom, I said n-
"I'll try one, Amanda, would you like one?" Taylor smiles as he pulls out his wallet.
"It's-
"It's Allison," Tom replies as his face turns red.
"Yeah, well, would you like one?" Taylor asks.
"Sure," I smile as Taylor hands $5 to Tom.
Yeah, he never gets my name right and sometimes he forgets that we're in the same grade, but because he's so attractive that I let it slide.
What really bothered me was how weird Tom was acting. He knows that I like Taylor, you'd think that he'd leave us alone. I think all that caffine has gone to his head.
"Here you go," Tom replies as he comes back with two relatively large cups of coffee.
"Thanks," Taylor smiles as he gives Tom a tip.
"So Taylor, are you ready for the game?" Tom replies as he sits himself between Taylor and I.
"I'm feeling pretty good. My running time has gotten a lot better since last time, so I'll definitely be making some touchdowns," Taylor replies.
"I'm going to go talk to Faith," I reply as I get up from the table.
I walked away as I glanced over to see Tom and Taylor laughing about who knows what.
"What's up chica?" Faith smiles as Glass walks backstage.
"Tom is being a nuissance," I groan as I point over to my future boyfriend and future ex-best-friend.
"Why?" Faith laughs.
"I was talking to Taylor at that table, and then Tom walks over and asks us if we want Pumpkin Latte's and then he decides to sit himself between Taylor and I and talk about football! I'm never going to get Taylor, this could have been the perfect moment, we could have been an item!!" I yell as I pull at my hair.
"He probably didn't mean it," Faith replies.
"Oh he probably did," I say as I glare at both of them.
The rest of the night ended as planned. Taylor left the restaurant completly forgetting about the conversation we had before Tom interrupted us.
When I went over to talk to Taylor after Tom left, it's like he decided to do some spring cleaning in his cranium. He completley forgot about everything we talked about. Did he not remember anything from those amazing 30 minutes I spent with him? I tried to start another conversation with him, but half way through it Brent called saying he needed him to come over to help him with homework. As Taylor left Giada's all I could think of is the various ways I'd make Tom pay for what he had done.
"What's wrong?" Tom laughs as I continue to sulk in the corner.
"I don't want to talk to you," I reply as I turn my chair around.
"Why?" Tom asks as he sits down next to me.
"You ruined my moment with Taylor," I reply as I get up from my seat.
"Oh...I totally forgot, I'm really sorry. I could get him to talk to you after the Football game," Tom replies.
I would have been okay with that, but I didn't want Tom trying to fix something that he had messed up in the first place.
"Allison, I really am sorry," Tom replies as he walks after me.
"Sure," I reply as I sit on a bench near the front door.
"Well, I'm done cleaning the shop, and Faith is with that guy she met, so I could call Taylor and ask if he wants to hang out for a bit," Tom replies.
"No," I reply as I cross my arms.
"Well, I could give you his number, and you could text him or something tomorrow," Tom says as he sits next to me.
"No," I reply as I scoot farther away from him.
"What about the party after the football game, I could take you with me so you could talk to him," Tom replies.
"Tom, no. I don't want nor need your help. You'll just ruin it," I reply as I get up.
"Allison, I said I was sorry. I was just trying to protect you, and-
"Wait, protect me, protect me from what?" I ask as I put my coat on.
"Well, umm...I was in the locker room today and Taylor was there, and he said he was going to ask you, but only so he could get in your pants and that's it," Tom replies
"That was a horrible excuse," I reply as I walk out of the cafe.
"Allison, it isn't an excuse. It's true, I heard it. He was talking to Brent about it. Ally, I wouldn't lie to you. You know that I'll always tell you the truth," Tom replies as he takes my hand.
"Yeah-but-Taylor wouldn't-he-I-maybe you're-he..I'm such an idiot for falling for him," I say as I try to stop myself from creating waterfalls.
"You're not an idiot," Tom replies as he gives me a hug.
"Thanks, and I'm sorry for not believing you. I guess I was so into him that I couldn't and wouldn't believe anything else except what I perceived Taylor to be," I reply.
"Yeah," Tom replies as he wraps his jacket around his waist.
"Well, at least he wanted to go out with me, sort of. That'll be the first and last time anyone from the male species will want to have any sort of relationship with me," I sigh.
"That isn't true," Tom smiles.
"Yes it is, I'm a senior in high school, and I still haven't had my first kiss or even have a guy think of me as more than an object to cheat off of or a friend," I reply.
"You know, for someone who's so smart, you seriously don't have a clue," Tom laughs.
"What?" I ask feeling a bit confused.
"I've been wanting to do this since 1st grade," Tom smiles as he comes a little closer to me.
Not knowing what to expect from Tom, I stood still and watched as he walked towards me, before I knew it we were less than an inch away from one another.
It was like I had got shot with Cupid's arrows because in less than 4 seconds, I had these incredibly intense feelings for a guy that I always considered to only be my best friend.
I was definitely living out the phrase "seeing things in a new light".
"Please don't hate me," Tom replies as he places his lips onto mine.
Hate was a word that wasn't even close to what I was thinking because that kiss was better than any tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream or Oreo Cookies with milk.
It felt amazing, and it definitely felt right. As he wrapped his arms around my waist I felt like I was going to melt in a puddle of water. I wanted to giggle like a ridiculous school girl after he took his lips off of mine.
"That was indescribable," I smile as Tom pulls me into a hug.
"I feel the same," Tom replies.
"So, where do we go from here?" I laugh as I look him square in the face.
"Well, I'll put it this way, from now on you should know that you definitely have somebody to lean on," Tom smiles as he gives my hand a small squeeze.
