i'm back from mars. miss me?

My friends Skylr, Mat, and David came over today. We spent like an hour debating what to eat (we made macaroni in the end, and David went along with recipe and now I wish to jog five miles), then hung around on the couch and stuff.
 
Oh my god, and Skylr and I both managed to slide under the living room coffee table - scary feat. And David kept picking us up, lol.
 
And I love how the song attached - listen to it - involves my favorite line. "And love is a homeless guy searching for treasure in the middle of the rain, and finding a bag of gold coins and slowly finding out they're all filled with chocolate. And even though he's heartbroken, he can't complain cause he was hungry in the first place."
 
Oh my god, and we spent an hour lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling and talking about glow in the dark stick on stars.
 
And David's never seen The Karate Kid, and it JUST HAPPENED to be on TV, so we watched it, but he changed it to Family Feud just as the wax on, wax off scene came up. BLARGH.
 
And David looks like Johnny! LOL.
 
And Skylr and I kept smelling things, and so Skylr smells like perfume and I smell like sweets and cleanliness, and David smells like boy, and Mat smells like perfume (LOL) and Beni smells like food and Mardy smells like dog. Because he is one.
 
And my dad gave us odd looks cause we were sniffing David. And boy = Axe and body sweat (with a hint of cinnamon).

Percy watched Herc Mason drop his sword as he lost the battle. The two had lasted a good fifteen minutes in combat, so they'd both probably earn an A in the physical portion of their Battle Tactics exam. Percy knew for a fact that he'd pass the written portion with flying colors. He was the son of Athena, after all.
 
He strode over to the Iris Message booth, where a few of the heroes' friends had been sending messages and warnings. He started to make a rainbow, then called for Calypso when Iris appeared.
 
Calypso's blonde head came into his view, her casual smile gone and dark circles under her restless eyes. Her hair was tied in a loose ponytail, and her pen-sword was drawn close to her.
 
"Percy!" she called, happiness creating a light in her blue eyes. "Hey! How's the academy?"
 
"It's great," Percy replied. "You get to miss the exams, you lucky duck." He watched her smile for a moment, then turn and call out something to the laughing girls behind her. "How's your quest?"
 
"Interesting. We're in LA now, and we scoped out the place. It's littered with monsters, like, seriously. It's crazy. You'd love it here, I think. Maybe. I don't know?"
 
"You tired?" Percy asked, scratching his arm.
 
"A bit," Calypso shrugged. "I had second watch last night, so I've been up since about four." She smiled sheepishly.
 
Percy decided to let her sleep, or at least grab a coffee. "I miss you."
 
"Miss you too. All the time."
 
Percy smiled shyly. "I'll see you back at camp."
 
The smile in Calypso's eyes was gone now. She said nothing, and only lowered her shoulders. The Iris Message closed, and Calypso was gone.
 
Percy wanted to punch himself. Sure, Lexa's prophecy called for Calypso to die (or, fall, rather) within the quest, but he knew it wouldn't happen.
 
He was a son of Athena, and he knew everything.

DAY ONE
 
"No funny business up there," Calypso joked as she and Lexa climbed into the back of Mr. Miller's car and Karissa climbed into the passenger seat beside Mr. Miller. Karissa gave the two other girls a sly smile before buckling her seatbelt.
 
Then, Lexa got down to business, pulling a map of the East Coast out from her satchel. "We'll be heading for New York first," she instructed. "Be ready."
 
Calypso nodded, lifting her headphones over her head and onto her ears, then changing the song on her iPod to "The Girls In Their Summer Dresses" by The Airborne Toxic Event. This was gonna be a long ride.
 
DAY THREE
 
"We'd like to speak with Kevin, please," Lexa said in her sweetest voice, taking charge with the quest as she knew to do. Calypso fiddled with her iPod, then shot a glance at Karissa. For the past two days, the daughter of Aphrodite and their teacher - their young and quite good looking teacher (not as cute as Percy, of course), at that - had been flirting. It was weirdly soothing, like things were still normal and the quest wasn't gonna screw with their lives or minds.
 
The man at the counter nodded once, and flipped the name tag on the lapel of his shirt so that it read "Kevin" in Greek. He handed the three girls a key. "Take the fifth elevator."
 
The girls ran down the hallway. "But, sir!" Karissa called out. "There's only - oh."
 
An elevator with Greek letters inscribed on the golden frame had appeared at the end of the hallway. Cautiously, the three girls stepped inside to await the meeting with the gods.
 
DAY FIVE
 
"Take care of her," Calypso could remember her father Poseidon whispering to Lexa, his sea-colored eyes dark like a storm on the horizon. "If anyone should fall, let it be a hundred-handed man or a cyclops. Not my daughter."
 
Lexa nodded solemnly. "I'll do what I can," she promised. "Your daughter won't be harmed."
 
Calypso pretended to fiddle with her backpack as she boarded her father's ship. Peeking out from the corner of her eye, she could see Karissa saying goodbye to her mother, Aphrodite, then kissing Mr. Miller on the cheek. Probably the Aphrodite way of saying thanks.
 
DAY SEVEN
 
"Have I mentioned that I hate the sea?" Karissa moaned as she sipped a glass of water and popped some sea sickness pills. "No offense, Caly."
 
"None taken." Calypso fiddled with her golden sandals, wishing that she could jump into the water, create a bubble under there, and think. She could, but it would put her behind on everything.
 
"Calypso, what are our coordinates?"
 
"33.789496,-118.948975." Calypso felt a smile grow across her face. Being a child of Poseidon, she always knew exactly where they were when at sea. "Welcome to Los Angeles, ladies."

Calypso followed Karissa, Mr. Miller, and Lexa to the edge of school grounds, praying to her father in her head that things would go smoothly. And that the last part of the prophecy would not come true.
 
"You're leaving without saying goodbye?" she heard someone say quietly. Turning her head to the left, she saw Percy leaning on the same tree he'd been sitting under that first day back at school. A small smile graced his face, and he shoved off the tree and ambled toward her.
 
Maybe it was the moon shining over the school, casting an eerie glow on the two. Maybe it was the fact that she'd be going on a mission and had the possibility of not making it back alive. Or maybe it was simply because she knew deep down that she and him would be together, and this could be her last chance to see him.
 
Dropping the sword in her hands, she quickened her pace towards him, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. After three seconds he wrapped his arms around her waist, and the two kissed until they could hear Karissa cat-calling and Lexa clearing her throat.
 
"Aren't you coming?" Lexa asked.
 
Calypso blushed and stepped away from Percy, who looked just as red. He grabbed her hand, keeping her with him for just a few more seconds. In her mind, she knew he was saying, "Good luck."
 
She turned to leave, trailing inches behind the other two heroes and their teacher/guide. Just before they reached the protective line between Half-Blood Academy and the outside world, a flower flew into her hands. Percy. Of course. He did have telekinesis, after all.
 
She had to make it out of the quest alive. Her future (if she had one) with Percy depended on it.

The entirety of Half-Blood Academy was seated in the candle-lit cafeteria, awaiting Lexa Maroon as she ventured back from her meeting with the Oracle. Younger voices could be heard whispering, but the older students knew to stay silent.
 
The quest in question was to retrieve Apollo's chariot. Nobody knew where it was, but for the last few days, they'd all been surrounded by darkness. Lexa had chosen two companions for the quest already: Karissa Green, daughter of Aphrodite, and Calypso Frankel, daughter of Poseidon. Rumors were already spilling out by the choices.
 
Rumor #1: Lexa didn't choose Odette Mortimer, daughter of Hades, because Odette is probably evil.
 
Not true at all. Odette was probably the nicest person at Half-Blood Academy.
 
Rumor #2: There was no real quest, and Lexa and Calypso just wanted to mess with a non-Big Three child. And her romance-type powers.
 
Not true at all. The three of them were friends, and the three of them were strong, united or alone.
 
Calypso had tried to think more about the rumors (and train night after night after night) so that she'd get the usual person off her mind. Percy Collins was her friend (sort of). He was smart (and a smartass). He was cute (so were a lot of guys).
 
And she liked him. A lot. And he seemed the same way. So why the hell was she acting like a complete moron and blowing him off so much?
 
"I've heard the prophecy," a girl's voice boomed from the cafeteria doors. Everyone turned to see Lexa standing before the cafeteria doors, her bright grey eyes looking uncharacteristically scared.
 
"What does it say?" As usual, Chiron's voice was deep and quiet. However, it could still be heard throughout the entire cafeteria.
 
Lexa fiddled with the ends of her red hair, then looked up solemnly. She began to relay the Oracle's prophecy.
 
"...While the child of Poseidon will be the first to fall," Lexa finished, gulping after the last word.
 
A gasp rippled throughout the whole room. All eyes turned to the Poseidon table, where Calypso was sitting by herself (she was the only demigod child of Poseidon, after all). Calypso felt her blue eyes grow wide, and fought the urge to shrink away. Her heart beat sped up, and she could feel all the water in her glass being sucked away by some invisible force.
 
"I'm...I'm going to die?"

I'm super tired right now. I've been studying from like 5 til now. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be drowning in music this week. I would rather go blind than be deaf because I couldn't handle life without music. I play guitar. I only ever like musicians. I wake up in class if I chew really minty gum. I always fall asleep in chemistry. Like, every day. But I've stopped now cause my chem teacher sprays the people who fall asleep with a fire extinguisher. It's fun to watch.

1) My birthday is tomorrow (January 7). I'm turning sixteen.
2) I'm currently reading a book my friend lent me called King Dork. It's by Frank Portman and it's awesome, but definitely not for younger readers. Like extremely.
3) I'm currently doing my homework: English homework. What a drag.
4) My current show is Fiddler on the Roof, and I've got the part of Tzeitel. And at multiple points in the show I have to hug, hold hands with, or just hold in fear my "husband" Motel [his real name is Matt]. And he has sweaty hands -.-
5) Today my friend brought me some cookies for my birthday. A boy in my Spanish took three of them from me and when I was like, "Dude. What do you say?" (thank you or happy birthday;; whichever), he was like, "I LOVE YOU." xDD
6) I'm in a nameless band that is missing a bass player and a rhythm guitarist. Our bass player dropped out (cause he's a turd). I sing and play lead guitar as of right now (it's a bit frazzling...)
7) I can play piano, guitar, bass, violin, and I can sing. I'm a strings kinda kid, I guess :) I haven't played violin in years, though, and I barely play bass cause it's the guitar I love. But bass is chill.

14) I'm going to winter formal with my friends, although I'll be an eleventh wheel (mostly cause I'm too chicken to ask a guy if he wants to go as friends like one of my friends did). The theme is All You Need Is Love. I'm wearing a red strapless dress and black patent leather peeptoe pumps, and holding a black Coach clutch.
15) I have band practice in like half an hour, but it'll just be me, the drummer, and the other guitarist. Fun stuff.
16) I watched Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist last night (for the 91249203829th time). I wanna kiss someone on the escalator! Haha.
17) I'm currently bundled up in a blanket in clean pajamas (yes, I changed my pajamas. So what?) and craving frozen yogurt. Or those yummy donuts Nicole and I bought from that store that has relatively no customers. I love stores like that.
