well technacally you cant be sure they ended up together cuz they cood just be randomly seeing each other they never rlly say but ya i agree i liked the book's ending better

i agree with channing tatum and all the things you didnt like, but i dissagee with alot that you did like. i HATED the ending. that ending is just so typical and happy. dont get me worng, i like happy endings, but i thought it was better that they werent together. i also hated that they added new things, and how their relationship went by so fast.... i really didnt like this movie. i guess it would have been good if i didnt read the book first, but since it did id give it 2 1/2, maybe 3 stars.

same about scene wit dad and letter, i cried. Channing is such a sexy beast, i <33333 loveeee him. agreed wit tim bein too old. i was like dats like her DAD

I didn't like how Allan was Tim's son in the movie. I also liked the book ending better. so much sweeter!

yea, i didnt like how they changed how old tim was and how alan on vacation. im not sure if i liked the new ending though. i mean its cute that they can get back together but i think i like the book ending better because thats what i was my first impression of it.

I love this! And I know what you mean. I LOVED Channing, because he's just amazing. I understand the whole reupping part much better, like he was kinda pressured into it. And it bothered me how much older Tim was. He was in no way like the Tim I pictured in the book, and I was a little upset that Alan was his son, but in the end, if you think about it, it makes more sense- since he died, then Savannah would be able to take care of him because he would be her stepson, not just his sister-in-law.

*SPOILERS AHEAD!!!*

Well, I definitly liked the book better...shocker right?

Things I loved:
-Channing Tatum. He was really really good! I thought he was totally hot and he is a genuinly good actor. I especially liked the seen when he kept saying that he didnt know what to do (refering to reup or not). And the scene when he read the letter to his dad made me cry. :(
-The ending! Soooo glad that they changed it and Tim died. (Sry Tim!)
-The whole thing looked good put together and the characters fit.
-The explanation of why he basically had to join the army after 911. In the book I was kind of mad at him for rejoining, but the movie made it seem like he actually didn't have a choice.
-Most of the minor characters did a good job, like Savannah's dad and Tim was a good actor.
-I liked all of the army scenes. I thought they were kind of cool and it was neat to see John in that enviornment as well.

Things I didn't like:
-That Savannah left him. (I know it is in the book, but I will never forgive her!!!)
-Tim was old. REALLY old! And why in the world did they have to make Alan his son? It just made him too old for her!
-I didn't really like the very beginning, like the first two scenes. The acting wasn't that great.

I might add more later, but I have to go to dance right now so tata!
