Friday; Head boy, James Potter is hosting a party in the Room of Requirement and for once all houses are welcome so try not to start any fights. Firewhiskey + butterbeer will be provided.
The Room of Requirement had outdone itself this time. Disco balls hung from the sparkling ceiling, while plush sofas and armchairs were scattered throughout the room. Two long tables were stacked with huge serving dishes of chicken, sausages, bread, jacket potatoes, steak and kidney pie, trifle, chocolate éclairs, peppermint toads, acid pops, and giant jugs of Butterbeer and Firewhisky. Music was blasting from the radio.
James, George and I were hanging out with a group of giggly Hufflepuff fifth years.
"So then Carrow gave me detention. Though honestly, I think I did everyone a favour by throwing those cauldron cakes at Peeves." James finished his story.
The Hufflepuff girls giggled again. I had to restrain myself from rolling my eyes. I watched as Lisa and Ava walked in. Lisa waved happily. I smiled and waved back.
"I'll be back." I said to James, thankful for an excuse to escape.
"Nathan, where are you going?" one of the girls whined.
I went over to Lisa and Ava.
"Hey!" I called out to them.
"Hey." Lisa smiled warmly at me. Ava was looking around the room. "Oh God, firewhisky. I'm parched. I'll see you two later." she said. I nodded at her.
"So this is nice. The food looks fantastic. " Lisa glanced up at the disco balls and the tables of food and then looked at me. "Have you been having fun?"
"A group of giggly 5th years were hanging out with us, so...no." I remarked. The door opened and in stepped, Tatum Peverell and Emmalie Malfoy. Tatum stared around and gave the room an approving nod before walking off with Emmalie towards the tables.
"She kind of scares me." Lisa said.
"Who, Tatum?" I asked. Lisa nodded.
"Yeah 'tis a shame so many Slytherins are here." I said, half-joking, half-serious. The door opened again and Victoire and Rose Weasley, Briony Bones, and Tamsin walked in. Tamsin flashed a smile at me and waved to us. I watched as she joined a group of 6th years. Lisa tapped me on the shoulder.
"Um, I'm going to go find Ava." she said.
"Oh, ok." I replied and continued to watch Tamsin as Lisa walked away. I decided I'd go talk to her when I could get her alone.
