I've done this! I went a bit crazy with it, more than just jewels. I had a brand new pair of black patent sling backs that my dog got ahold of and chewed. I got over my anger by decoupaging, painting, adding jewels and feathers. They were absolutely fabulous! I wore them out and people kept stopping me asking about my shoes, they were a work of art! I would post a picture but guess what? One got knocked off of the table, where they were safely out of puppy reach, and the little rat bastards chewed the heel completely off! It is a really good thing that I love those dogs, but I make sure that my shoes are in boxes on the top of a bookshelf now!

It also works really well is you use little studs or spikes instead of just jewels. The hardware look is becoming very in, and we're starting to see spike a lot more. It's a good way to jump into the trend, if you like it!
