  • Original BTC Titan 3 Pendant & Diffuser - Olive
    shophorne.com
We love the classic industrial look of the Titan Pendant. Designer Peter Bowles used an actual mold from the 1940's that produced these lamps for offices and factories at the time, but then he updated it for a more modern setting. We think it's an ideal choice for a kitchen, dining room, or workspace, since it is mostly downward lighting. But, if brightness isn't your thing, it comes with a frosted glass diffuser to give a softened, glowing light. The lamp is UL listed and suitable for commercial spaces. This lamp is the larger version of the Titan 1. Manufactured in a factory in the UK dedicated to green manufacturing practices. 150W (max) incandescent or compact fluorescent bulb. 5' black braided cable and aluminum ceiling rosette. Bronze interior. Includes frosted glass diffuser for a softening of the light.

  • Artifort Orange Slice Chair

Design Pierre Paulin, 1960. Beech shells, upholstery, steel. Made in Holland by Artifort. "A chair should be more than simply functional. It should be friendly, fun and colorful." -Pierre Paulin. Designed in 1960, the Orange Slice is a timeless icon that looks as fresh and inspired today as it did when it was first created. Anyone who sees several Slice chairs together cannot fail to be touched by the playfulness fo the composition. From different visual angles, the Orange Slice shows several stages of 'curl up'. In fact, the chair seems to change shape every time you look at it. Pierre Paulin studied stone carving and clay modeling at the Ecole Camondo in Paris in the early fifties where he began designing furniture for Thonet. In 1958, he became the designer for Artifort where he created a series of sculptural chairs with an inner structure of steel tubing, covered in foam and fabric. • Peter Bowles Drop 2 Pendant
    dwr.com
Saving a factory and helping the employees keep their jobs was not something Peter Bowles thought he’d be doing when he designed his first bone china light. The story begins in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the British ceramics industry, where its prized porcelain has been produced for more than three centuries. Bowles convinced a tableware factory to produce his first design, but as the orders started to come in, he learned the factory would be closing. Rather than moving production overseas, Bowles bought the factory and offered the entire staff new jobs with his company, Original BTC. The Drop 2 Pendant (2000) is beautifully crafted of hand-cast bone china. Creating these lights involves a highly skilled, labor-intensive process that begins with raw clay and ends with biscuit firing, glazing, glossing and firing again. When lit, the shade has a translucent glow that allows for warm diffused light. Attention to detail is at the heart of every Drop 2 Pendant, right down to the braided cord, which was designed by Peter and can be found on every light his company makes. Drop is UL Listed and suitable for contract use. Bulb (not included): 40W/120V/E26. Made in England.

It should be friendly, fun and colorful." -Pierre Paulin. True design is timeless. It survives all trends. Without aging. Take Oyster for instance. Modern, exciting, smart, respectable, comfortable. One of the first designs in the Classic Collection and 'the easy' chair of the sixties. The chromed metal base is so minimalist that the seating shell seems to float.
