Pre-owned 1970s Numbered Christian Dior Off Shoulder Dress
This is an amazing example of the power of a simple silk jersey and the right cut! When I purchased this many years ago it was from the estate of a former model who was given it in exchange for her work on the runway, a common practice at the time. As a result it has the original runway sample, handwritten label, as well the interior Christian Dior label. It has some wonderful late seventies details like those incredible sleeves that when on appear to be curved draped panels that narrow down to skinny wrists and forearms, However, once you lay it flat you see the peaked, squared off shape that this was cut in to create that curving shape. The entire shoulder is elastic so you can wear it on or off the shoulder or leave only a single shoulder exposed - very sexy. The waist is cut wide and loose and meant to slouch even with its elastic finish and the skirt falls to just above the ankle. You could add a low slung belt for more shape. Hidden side pockets give it the perfect slouchy cool girl vibe. The jersey is a rich wine color and flattering to most skin tones. Really a fabulous piece! Excellent condition. Unlined and slips on to wear. Hand finishes inside. Four fabric covered buttons on each sleeve and there is still the original extra button sewn inside the skirt along a seam. A small keyhole under the elastic of the neckline at the back. Hidden pockets along each hip. Note the cut is deceptive as it was meant to be worn loose and slouchy - it will fit a variety of sizes comfortably Sleeves: 24" Shoulders: approx 14" when laid out flat but the elastic makes it completely variable Bust: to 22"+ flat across from side seam to side seam Waist: 15-20" flat across from side seam to side seam Hips: to 27" flat across from side seam to side seam Bodice: 18" from top of bodice to waist Skirt: 33" from waist to hem Modern Sizing Equivalent: SML-LRG This garment has been professionally cleaned, pressed and is odor free. Thoroughly checked over before shipping, it will be ready to wear upon arrival.

Pre-owned 1975 Christian Dior Haute-Couture Beaded Peach Silk-Chiffon Cocktail Dress
The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of haute couture. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design. This beautiful pastel peach cocktail is a perfect example of his talent. The fabric used for this garment is breathtaking; beaded, sequin, rhinestone "light as a feather" triple layered silk-chiffon. I love the low-cut plunge neckline and grecian-goddess capelet bodice. As Dior said, "I will only say now that elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." This haute-couture dress is a wonderful mix of these elements. Measurements Bust:36-37 inches Waist:32 inches Hips:38 inches Total Length:38 inches This vintage designer dress comes from a smoke-free house. This garment is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes.Perfectly working duel metal-zippers. This item is over 30 years old and is truly beautiful! Museum quality and very rare!
