    Tuffy is a piece of furniture out of the “The Wild Bunch” family by Magis. The collection designed by Konstantin Grcic started with the Tom & Jerry series in 2011. Konstantin Grcic included typical industrial elements being inspired by traditional workshop furniture, which he translated into functional and appealing pieces. That’s how Tuffy the chair is rotatable thanks to its intelligent construction and the screw thread out of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene and its height is also adjustable between 42 and 61 cm. The seat and the base are made of massive beech wood. Tuffy convinces with an interesting mix of materials of wood and polypropylene – like all the members of the family The Wild Bunch.

    The Traffic Platform is a chair of a special kind: Partly a sofa and partly a lounge chair – this one is a seat by Magis, which breaks denomination categories. The shiny, very slim metal structures of the Magis Traffic Platform represent visual contrast to the voluminous cushions. The whole construction of the armchair was kept geometrically and completed by a technical language of form, like it is typical for the designs of the German designer Konstantin Grcic. Magis produces the Traffic Platform with a frame made of powder coated steel and cushions of polyurethane foam. The removable pillowcase of the Kvadrat fabric Steelcut Trio shines with multifaceted colours and robustness. The Traffic Platform by Magis is also available in further colour combinations. All the other products of the Traffic series by Grcic are available as well.

    Troy is a versatile design created by Marcel Wanders for Magis. The chairs collection includes different chairs for private usage or public rooms, suitable for every place depending on the seat, frame and material of it. The polypropylene seat of the Troy chair is placed on a steel tube frame, which picks up the withdrawing image of Troy. The polyester coating is the reason why the Troy chair can be used inside and outside of the house. The possibility of stacking the chairs (max. 6 Chairs) is a great method to store the chairs without the need of much space. The versatile Troy chair is available in different variations with all types of bases and painted in various trendy colours.

    The Pipe series was designed by Jasper Morrison for Magis in 2009. Morrison concentrated on industrial materials and combined them with a modern, curved look. The frame of aluminium tube as well as the seat and the backrests of perforated aluminium sheets are available in polyester painted editions for indoor and outdoor use, as well as in a polished edition (to be used inside). Both editions are fire resistant and they are therefore usable in public places with according fire protection regulations. Moreover there is a variant of the Pipe chair with beech plywood seat and backrest (natural or with the colour of wengé), which is the reason why the chair has a natural hint. The Pipe chairs encourage ergonomic and balanced sitting comfort. The possibility of stacking them is also practical, although only a total of two chairs can be piled.

    The Steelwood Chair from Magis is a reaction to the meanwhile widely spread trend or manufacturing plastic chairs. Magis has already produced numerous plastic objects however, this time the designers wanted a further development and the production of something different and new. The French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec designed the Steelwood chair, as the name already reveals, out of metal and wood. The seat and legs are made out of massive beech wood, while the back and armrests consist of metal. Together both materials form an exceptional chair that breaks with conventions. Wood and metal stand in contrast to each other perfectly complemented. In opposite to chairs out of plastic, Steelwood from Magis became a piece of individual character along the years, developing to a better one. The Steelwood Armchair from Magis is available in four different variants. The backrest is made out of steel plate, the seat and legs out of massive beech wood.

    The Still Chair was designed by Marcel Wanders for Magis. The Italian company manufactures Still in a Blow Molding procedure out of polyethylene, making it an airy and fantasy-appearance chair. The design and name of the exceptional chair are therefore an homage to the childlike ability of enjoying and of unprejudiced evaluating the surroundings. With the Still Chair, the Netherlands designer Marcel Wanders has created a fanciful chair that wants to surpass stuck and cramped thoughts and designs. Like an inflated piece of furniture or a plastic bottle is how the Still Chair appears with its round forms on the first sight. The chair owes its appearance to the Blow Moulding procedure that is used by Magis for the production. Despite all playfulness of the design, Still is still a serious chair for indoor and outdoor areas. The Still Chair is demountable in parts. The legs can be screwed off for a transport or to store them. Still possesses small rubber slides under its feet for a safer stand of the polyethylene chair.

    The brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec designed Pila for Magis in 2012. The filigree and weightless form of the chair is a wonderful contrast to the natural wooden material it is made of (first production 2013). Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec especially thought of minimalistic elegance when they designed their Pila chair: A design as elegant as possible with as little material as possible. That’s the reason why the Magis Pila chair isn’t only very weightless, but also the design gives the impression of being floating. The ash plywood made seat is carried by four filigree feet out of massive oak wood. The backrest, also consisting of plywood, ends up in the chair’s feet. A filigree aluminium construction, which is hidden under the seat, ensures stability. Pila is available in different editions in natural or stained ash wood.

    ”Between objects and people something has to happen” , said Konstantin Grcic once in an interview. It seems he had this demand as leading phrase for Chair One while he designed it in the year 2003 for Magis, because the skeleton-like and sculptural appealing chair didn’t only cause furore in the specialists world. Chair One isn’t simply an avant-garde seating furniture. The chair is interplay of material, shaping and industrial manufacturing. It can be used inside or outside since it is rust-resistant and fire-retardant. Thanks to the heavy concrete base, the chair furthermore stands safe at any weather. Grcic used aluminium die casting for the complete seat of Chair One for the first time, which has additionally been treated with fluorinated titan and polyester lacquer on the surface. The complete base consists of colourless impregnated concrete.

    Swing, seesaw or simply relax – not a problem with Spun by Magis. The chair combines seat, backrests and frame in one unique spinning top design. Thomas Heatherwick designed the rotating circle-chair Spun for Magis. The base of Spun is a small circle that becomes a seat at its top. Another ring between the spinning top and the seat avoids the tilting of the chair. Once seated in it, Spun becomes a swinging adventure: It turns, seesaws if desired from one side to another or remains a quite chair to relax in. Fine lines at the outside emphasize the dynamic appearance. Magis manufactures Spun out of polyethylene. Because of the robust plastic, the pegtop is adapted for inside and outside. A rubber coating under the chair furthermore protects the ground. The chair is produced in different colours by Magis.

    Raviolo is a low lounger by Ron Arad and Magis. As well as Voido, Raviolo had the goal of creating a plastic product in a rotation procedure that convinces with an unusual shape and fulfills the highest demands. Ron Arad and Magis selected a shape that is based on a wound plastic band for Raviolo. The idea of the design has long remained in Ron Arad’s head and now it was perfectly adapted to the rotational procedure. The finished Raviolo lounger integrates the characteristics of the manufacturing process in its design and also displays the rotation process at the external, wound texture. Seat and backspace of the Raviolo are flat. The apparent and haptic break as well as the interlaced shape of the lounger create a bloated appearance that reminded Ron Arad of filled pasta. Therefore he named his lounger Raviolo. Raviolo consists of polyethylene and is adapted to indoor and outdoor use.
