    Richards' Trunk 2-Drawer Cube
After seemingly circling the globe, a canvas-clad steamer trunk landed at a famed European antiques market. It was battered and worn, but its careful construction and handsome detailing marked it as bespoke luggage, crafted in early 20th-century England for a traveler of discerning taste (a traveler whose name – according to the brass plate mounted above the latch – was Tom Richards). Plucked from potential obscurity, the trunk made its way to the workshop of Timothy Oulton, where it was painstakingly dismantled – every pin removed and measured, every hinge and brace scrutinized. And from that well-made, well-traveled trunk, a collection was born. Our polished aluminum version was inspired by the gleaming nose cones and fuselages of mid-20th-century aircraft, clad in a patchwork of polished aluminum panels accented with exposed steel screws. Each piece is constructed in precisely the same manner as the original and aged to look as if it's seen epic journeys of its own. Wood frames are clad in polished aluminum, accented with steel screws. Braced with strips of aged bamboo trimmed with antiqued brass. Fitted with leather handles and corner protectors. Equipped with brass luggage latches. Canvas lined interior. Includes 2 small holes for ventilation. For normal daily care, dust with a feather duster or wipe with a clean, dry cloth. To maintain the shine, buff occasionally with metal polish. Charcoal waxed canvas.

    Carnegie Single Shelving
From the late 1800s through the 1920s, Scottish businessman Andrew Carnegie helped to fund the building of thousands of libraries around the world – 1,500 in America alone. Our bookshelf is an exact reproduction of the innovative open-stack shelving that made books in the Carnegie libraries accessible to patrons without help from a librarian. Created by Snead & Co. Ironworks in the 1920s, the modular, two-sided design allows for 65 levels of shelf adjustment on each side, so it can be configured to suit your collection precisely. A replica of the first-ever modular stack shelving, which had a major impact on the layout of public libraries and archives. Crafted from cast aluminum with a timeworn patina that recalls the original industrial antique. Comes with ten 8-inch-deep removable shelves (five on each side), which can be adjusted to 65 levels on both sides of the unit. Each shelf has a maximum weight capacity of 40 lbs.

Each piece is constructed in precisely the same manner as the original and aged to look as if it's seen epic journeys of its own. Wood frames are clad in water-resistant hand-waxed canvas, finished with hand-hammered pins. Braced with strips of aged bamboo trimmed with antiqued brass. Fitted with leather handles and corner protectors. Equipped with brass luggage latches. Opens with a lid and offers deep storage. Canvas lined interior. Includes 2 small holes for ventilation. Beige waxed canvas.

Drawers are canvas lined. Beige waxed canvas.

Reclaimed Elm & Iron Leaner Shelving Wide
Reclaimed elm doors repurposed from old buildings gain new life when paired with cast steel bars in our industrial shelving. The clean, spare design lends itself to use in multiples, configured side by side in a room. Antique reclaimed elm is hand-selected, planed and sanded. Shelves may have holes where hinges or doorknobs once resided – a souvenir from their previous lives. Cast steel frame is welded and riveted for strength. Larger shelves are sized to hold wide-screen TVs and other media components. Removable second shelf makes space as required. By their nature, unsealed salvaged wood planks may be somewhat uneven, and may cup or bow slightly over time, further enhancing their rustic one-of-a-kind character; cracks, nicks and imperfections will be present. This item is artisan crafted with meticulous care. Given its handmade and hand-finished nature, variations in the wood or metal work are to be expected and celebrated. Each item is unique and no two are exactly alike. Bolts securely into the wall; hardware not included. Professional installation recommended. This item is crafted with unsealed metal that may rust over time, enhancing its rustic one-of-a-kind character. Note that the rust may rub off if it comes in contact with other furniture or fabrics.
