Norm Steel Clock by Menu is a light and simplistic clock with steel hands - designed by the Copenhagen-based simplicity lovers at Norm Architects. Minimalism is not a modern style. Minimalism has been the norm in many cultures all over the globe since the beginning of civilization. People have strived continually for material poverty as a way to inner luxury. Norm Architects aim for geometrical purity, a simple naturalness and a reduced authenticity for a sense of calm and repose – which is clearly seen in the Steel Wall Clock, designed by the Danish manufacturer Menu. The powder coated steel looks matt and the soft colours with slightly contrasting pointers remain decently in the visual background. The colours and the thicknesses of the thoroughly dyed glasses seem to make the flames shine brighter. Kivi is a real iittala classic which makes the experience of the manufacturer clearly observable. Kastehelmi mood lights – Oiva Toikka 1964 The name Kastehelmi (natural drop in Finnish) refers to the air bubbles inside of the pressed glass. The natural drops, inspired by Finnish nature, shine like a thread with pearls in the morning sun. The votive candle inside of the lantern spreads shadows through the glass, for a beautiful light effect. Alvar Aalto bowl – Alvar Aalto 1936 The basic design of this bowl comes from Alvar Aalto. His famous vase from 1936 is a real style icon of modern design. The flowing, organic form was inspired by the bizarre map of Finland. As if one looked at a sea or a lake from above. That was the source of inspiration for this set. Since it is a real small sea, with mysterious lights swimming inside of it.

Muuto - Wood Lamp Table Lamp
The Wood Lamp Table Lamp by Muuto displays a knowingly complement to the most high modern table- and working lamp on the market. The designer intentionally made the lamp angular and "raw" and describe it as "Low-Tech". All details of the wood lamp were accordingly pragmatically chosen and even in screws which combine the single parts are all visible. On the wood lamp it becomes apparent how a lamp is held together and out of which it has to be made, to have the known functions like a adjustable arm and head. The visibility of the elements is always planned and demonstrates an intentional style in a technical high developed world. Regarding the function, this table lamp works like other working lamps and desk lamps. But the unusual Wood Lamp can also be used as solitary and as decoration element. Through this rustic design and the simple production method, the Wood Lamp gets a profound personality. With that it becomes a welcome change to all flat and high technical and futuristic effective table lamps.

    urbanature - high garden
Designer Jörg Brachmann challenged the problem of plants inside and outside of the house. The unusual garden keeps flowers at a height of 1,48, where you will be able to see them at eye-level. Urbanature is responsible for eye-catchers inside and outside of the house Green plants ensure freshness and comfort inside of the house, but they also cause some problems sometimes: Garden herbs and pot plants block the windows so that we aren"t really motivated to remove them for fresh air. Heaters at windows dry the soil in the plant pots so that one witted leave is followed by another one. And the summer sun will burn the dried leaves in the end. If all of it blocks our green thumbs, the high garden is a solution. Place it wherever you like in the room for the plants to be seen at eye-level all the time. It is a real eye-catcher – whether in the kitchen, the corridor or the office. The high garden also looks gorgeous outside: You won"t need to stoop to plant it, there will be no snails or rodents anymore. Instead, your plants are installed on the balcony, the terrace or in the garden as they deserve. The high garden: A garden on stalks The high garden is made of five cachepots for five stacks turned inside of each other. One connection elemebt keeps the stacks together in the middle of the object. The cachepots are made of white or grey concrete and the sticks of massive oak wood. Each high garden is handmade, as usual for all the urbanature products. The cachepots are suitable for planting pots of max. 13 Cm diameter. Order the special high garden from urbanature safely and in only an instant in the home design shop. We offer price guarantee, fair shipping costs and flexible payment possibilities.

The Still Vase of the Danish manufacturer Normann Copenhagen embodies timeless elegance. Unnecessary decoration was renounced, instead, the vase concentrates on pure design. Cylindric forms come together with softly formed curves – this shaping is the same for all the Still Vases and it gives them the stringent but still natural appearance. The Still Vase – robust and fragile, hard and soft The designer Nick Rennie was inspired by his love for glass – a fragile material, but hard in the result. This is how he created a vase of contrasts: The white inside and the compact profile – transparent or with colourful welded glass -, give a soft, weightless impression to the Still Vases, appearing robust and resistant at the same time. Every vase is unique, being mouth-blown, each one slightly differs from the others. The shapes are classic and elegant, the colours - white and grey – decent: This is how the Still Vases ensure a trendy appearance and they fit in every kind of furnishing that way. The Still Vases are available in two sizes - one of them is high and slim, the other one small and bulky. The long vase is suitable for long-stem flowers, the short one holds bouquets. The Still Vase perfectly presents flowers. But it is as well a noble piece of decoration when it stands empty, alone, in groups or as eye-catcher connected with other accessories.

Normann Copenhagen - Curve Wall Hook
The Danish designer Peter Johansen designed a wooden hook looking like the alphabetic character “J” for Normann Copenhagen. The Curve wall hook has a classic shape and it immediately reminds us of its function. The curves are responsible for a special refinement and they give precision to the oversized design. Curve is a wall hook in its most traditional and symbolic form. It carries several objects without any efforts like clothes, bags and accessories. Reminding us of the classic Danish design of the 50s, Peter Johansen developed a wall hook with modern design. The starting idea was creating a normal shaped hook, whose appearance was adapted and refined. The wide shape and the clearly recognizable wooden structure gives warmth, humour and character to the design. Peter Johansen explains: ”I always liked to hang things. I am fascinated by the form of hooks and finc the function it has interesting. Many stopped using the small hanging loop of their jackets. The hook has to be wider in order to save the clothes. The Curve hook is thought to be a humorous piece of utility at the wall. People can hang 1, 2, 3 or 10 of them for different purposes.” The Curve clothes hook is made out of moulded wood and available in a Scandinavian cool range of colours. All the colours embellish the – often white – walls of corridors with the Nordic-clear expression. A graphic accent at the wall is achieved with one single hook, but several of them next to each other or resulting in a specific pattern enable a perfect decoration and utility image.

Chouchin is the name of the oriental lantern out of paper and bamboo, which inspired the contemporaneous lamps family, where the prestige of blown glass comes together with the charm of colours, the magic of light and the possibility of creating a composition of different forms – in order to create a familiar and as well mystic emotion. The Chouchin lamps series was designed by Ioanna Vautrin for Foscarini in 2013. The version “Mini” completes the project Chouchin with additional possibilities of compositions and positioning. The lampshade is offered in two forms and complementary colours: Orange and green. The lower border remains white, as well as the border of the big version, in order to have an unmistakable graphic when the lamp is switched off and a shiny frame when it is switched on. Chouchin Mini can be installed alone like a small and poetic floating lantern, or in a line or group of several lamps and with the bigger Chouchin model, surrounding a table or in an half island illuminated with downwards directed light beams. The straight-lined pattern is indispensable in fashion, design and many other branches today, which is proven by the powerful expression of the Tasaraita cups with handle from Marimekko. Tasaraita was originally designed by Annika Rimala for fashion purposes. It was the first time that graphically simple and still strong stripes entered clothes. And much more: Tasaraita was the first unisex collection. The first clothes made for both: Women and men. Rimala wanted to express this highly modern philosophy in designs with differently coloured stripes of the same size: Different and with an own character, but absolutely equitable. And unfolding their whole attractiveness when they are combines. Simple. Timeless. Striped. The Marimekko Tasaraita cup brings this philosophy to the kitchen and the dining table. A big coffee, but also tea or every other drink suit in the 250ml cup. The Finnish manufacturer Marimekko produces the design coffee cups with handles out of stoneware.
