Menu Design Menu - Hallgeir Lantern
The Chamber Light is perfect for dark winter months around the dinner table or the lovely summer evenings outside. The handle makes it easily portable and serves as a friendly reminder that you can always bring the light wherever you need it. Designer Hallgeir Homstvedt says, “Originally I set out to design a modern version of the classic kerosene lamp with the glass chimney and brass tray. In the design process I looked mostly to ceramics and electrical lighting for inspiration. The final design is a hurricane that has a contemporary feel, with clear references to classic candle holders and oil lamps”. The Chamber Light is the first design from the Oslo-based designer. Hallgeir Homstvedt runs his own studio focusing on furniture, interior and product design. Hallgeir lived 9 years in Seattle, WA & Newcastle Australia, with family and later for University. We fell for his simple, yet elegant design approach and can’t wait to see more from his hands. Hallgeir himself says: “My design approach is to simplify the final design as much as possible. I strive to create products that have a timeless feel but are inspired by their time”. Chamber Light can be used with both tea lights. Block candles and oil lights. If used with oil lights, we recommend using environmentally friendly palm oil that emits less soot particles and creates a better home environment.

Menu Design Menu - Norm Steel Wall Clock
Norm Steel Clock by Menu is a light and simplistic clock with steel hands - designed by the Copenhagen-based simplicity lovers at Norm Architects. Minimalism is not a modern style. Minimalism has been the norm in many cultures all over the globe since the beginning of civilization. People have strived continually for material poverty as a way to inner luxury. Reduction and perfection have been the main goal for both craftsmen and inventors – because avoiding the irrelevant meant emphasising the important. Norm Architects aim for geometrical purity, a simple naturalness and a reduced authenticity for a sense of calm and repose – which is clearly seen in the Steel Wall Clock, designed by the Danish manufacturer Menu. The powder coated steel looks matt and the soft colours with slightly contrasting pointers remain decently in the visual background. These qualities make the Menu Steel Wall Clock look timeless: It is a master example for the soft minimalism followed by Norm.

Tom Dixon. The Company Tom Dixon - Etch Votive Candle
The Etch votive candle was designed in the typical Tom Dixon -style: Made of polished metal and with extravagant shapes. The different openings in the material, which are altogether still very fine, let the light shimmer with many facets through the gaps, spreading decent shadows into the place. The gaps seem to have appeared naturally in the Tom Dixon Etch votive candle, or even “etched”. But that’s not how it emerged! The unusual appearance of the Etch votive candle also comes from an unusual processing: Tom Dixon used an industrial production method which normally serves to produce small electric devices. For this candleholder. This method allows the British designer to cut the fine and detailed patterns and structures into the metal of the candleholder, so that they act organic. The Tom Dixon Etch is also available as pendant lamp.

    Georg Jensen - Glow Candleholder
Inviting light: The Glow Candleholder by Georg Jensen is wonderfully suitable for pillar candles. These large candles emit particularly warm light that creates a cosy atmosphere – especially during the cold winter months. When the designer Maria Berntsen couldn't find any candleholder that holds large candles and that she also liked, she created the Glow Candleholder for Georg Jensen. Thereby, particular emphasis was placed on the elegance: Glow consists of stainless steel bars that twist and entwine around and with each other, comparable to a nostalgic version of the infinity-sign. The clever design of the candleholder by Georg Jensen gives pillar candles their distinctive character. Georg Jensen manufactures the Glow Candleholder with the accustomed high-quality polished stainless steel.

    Luceplan - Goggle Wall Lamp
An unforgettable game of colours: The Goggle Wall Lamp from Luceplan has colours, which change according to the angle it is watched from. The designer Ross Lovegrove was inspired by the reflections of swim goggles when he designed Goggle together with Luceplan. A wall and ceiling lamp resulted out of this cooperation, which searches for equals regarding style. The elliptic lamp spreads colours through its “lens”, which change, according to the angle the lamp is watched from. The technique behind the impressive physical effect is completely natural: Bubbles or some precious stones and insects have a thin film for the changing effects. Specialists call it to iridise. The opalised lamp is responsible for indirect and diffuse light. The special style makes the wall lamp especially suitable for rooms that should get some special accents. Several Goggle wall lamps combined are even more impressive, since the game with colours is different according to the angle.
