Foscarini - Chouchin Mini Pendant Lamp
Chouchin is the name of the oriental lantern out of paper and bamboo, which inspired the contemporaneous lamps family, where the prestige of blown glass comes together with the charm of colours, the magic of light and the possibility of creating a composition of different forms – in order to create a familiar and as well mystic emotion. The Chouchin lamps series was designed by Ioanna Vautrin for Foscarini in 2013. The version -Mini” completes the project Chouchin with additional possibilities of compositions and positioning. The lampshade is offered in two forms and complementary colours: Orange and green. The lower border remains white, as well as the border of the big version, in order to have an unmistakable graphic when the lamp is switched off and a shiny frame when it is switched on. Chouchin Mini can be installed alone like a small and poetic floating lantern, or in a line or group of several lamps and with the bigger Chouchin model, surrounding a table or in an half island illuminated with downwards directed light beams. Especially the optionally available multiple canopy suits to create group compositions. The small dimensions of the Chouchin Mini by Foscarini emphasize their personality as sidelight with withdrawing and more valuable elegance. The lamps can be equipped with halogen illuminants or LED light sources. The last one is suitable to be used in public rooms because of her energy efficiency and its long duration. More details: Pendant lamp with direct light. The diffuser is made of mouth blown coated glass and it is glossy painted with opaque lacquer. The designer Patricia Urquiola explained: ”The process started when we tried to reconstruct membranes looking like traditional Japanese armaments. The overlapping, geometric structure and the handicraft expression have a strongly emotional component. The construction reminds me of an armadillo.” That’s the reason why Flos chose the name Tatou , which means armadillo in English for the lamp with the unusual structure. Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm has designed the simple but elegant Georg Hanger for the brand Skagerak. As a daughter of a Dane father and a Swede mother, it is clear where her Scandinavian influences are coming from. And this is also obvious in her designs: Noble minimalism and the natural materials wood, wool and leather characterise the design of the Skagerak Georg series. The Georg Clothes Hanger are reduced to the essential. One hanger is manufactured out of two wooden parts that are connected to an iconic-simple shape of the hanger. The Skagerak Georg Hanger are hung up with a classic hook whose simplicity perfectly fits the calm design of the hanger. Skagerak manufactures the Georg series out of fsc-certified oak wood which demonstrably stems from sustainable forestry. With the Georg Wardrobe, Skagerak takes care of a suitable hanging possibility for the reduced wooden hanger. Whereas the wooden variants of the designer pieces add a natural appearance to the ambiance, the black version appears noble and elegant.

Foscarini - Rituals XL Pendant Lamp
The Rituals pendant lamp XL , created by the designers and architects Ludovica + Roberto Palomba for Foscarini , attracts attention because of its plasticity. The lamp moves playfully on the slim path between orient and occident. The challenge was to translate the weightlessness of oriental lanterns into a group of glass lamps. Their special style comes from the special technique of production: The glass is not turned inside of the casting mould (-a fermo”-technique). The special stripes appearance is realized in a special casting mould with negative decorations, which are repeated on the surface. Afterwards the glass is filed by hand and plunged into an acids bath, which offers a plaster look to it. The diffuse light makes the Rituals pendant lamp XL suitable for different rooms and it re-interprets the magical look of rice paper or of the mulberry tree bark – which is the original material for Japanese lamps – by means of using blown and satined glass on a physical and precious way. Horizontal lines, which run through the surface of the lamps, create a soft and fascinating décor and they also influence the damping of the intensity of the light – and therefore spreading a full, warm and soft light. The paper-like body of mouth-blown glass makes the Rituals pendant lamp suitable to be used alone or in harmonic compositions of several lamps. The Foscarini Rituals is also available as table lamp and as XL pendant lamp.

    Flos - Chapo Table Lamp
Hats off! The Flos Chapo is a table lamp with uncopiable style. It is obvious where its name came from: The French expression -Chapeau!” characterizes the unique ideas of the famous French designer Philippe Starck. ”When Alec Guinness, James Stewart or Fred Astaire came back home in the evening, they threw their hat on everything near them on a unique way. Why not also on a lamp?” , asked star designer Starck himself. Said, done: Chapo is the resilt of this thoughts, stormy and elegant. The Flos Chapo spreads direct light, which is directed downwards by the hat diffuser. The hat is included in the delivery, but it isn’t possible to use other headgear as lampshades. The Flos Chapo is a charming table lamp with very special charm because of the reference to the masculine hat-throwing gesture of yesterday. Despite of the humorous character, the Chapo has some practical values: An USB connection (max. 1,5 A) makes it possible to charge electric devices, while the decent Soft-Touch switch dims the energy-saving LED light source with warm white light (2700 K). The finish is also Flos-typically noble: The lamp’s base is chrome-plated, while the cable is coated with linen fabric.

Since its launch in 2008, the Index Chopping Boards are an essential part of the program by Joseph Joseph. Now the boards receive a practical update and new details. Index is a chopping board registry system by Joseph Joseph. There are four chopping boards in the case. Every chopping board has an individual colour and an illustrated register sign that informs the user which board is made for what kind of food (vegetables, fish, meat or bread). Using different chopping boards for individual ingredients increases the hygiene in the kitchen and prevents cross-contamination. The graduating register signs simplify and improve the overview and handling. Joseph Joseph added additional practical details to the chopping boards: A liquid-catching groove on the red meat board; a sloping rim for catching food and liquids on the green vegetable board; a perforated surface on the blue seafood board so that the fish does not slip and a white board with crumb-catching grooves. The Index Chopping Boards, designed by Damian Evans, are dishwasher safe and made of robust polypropylene. The plastic protects the knives while cutting and prevents unnecessary blunting of the kitchen utensils. Furthermore, the individual boards of the Index Chopping Boards also provide an anti-slip coating for safe cutting even on smooth surfaces. The case of the Index Chopping Boards by Joseph Joseph is either available in light grey or graphite grey.

Normann Copenhagen - Squeezer Citrus Juicer
Squeezer is a Citrus Juicer by Normann Copenhagen which can be adjusted in two ways, making it ideal to use with any kind of citrus fruit, regardless of size. Squeezing juice is a necessary but often boring job that just needs to be done. That is how the Italian designers of Studio Klass see it, and this observation led them to the idea of creating a design that could make squeezing the juice from lemons, grapes, oranges and lime fruits a fun task instead. The Italian design team Studio Klass says: "The idea was to design a functional citrus squeezer that could be used for several types of citrus fruit but also contained a sculptural element. Squeezer is an innovative kitchen utensil for adding a bit of fun to your cooking, and its aesthetic shape means that it can be displayed in the kitchen, rather than being tucked away in a drawer or cupboard". The flexible funnel-shaped upper part of Squeezer acts as a reservoir for the juice as well as a pouring spout. Just flex the reservoir with your hand and pour. The soft, matt silicone gives a good, firm grip while the Squeezer’s sharply defined grooves guarantee that all the juice is squeezed from the fruit so nothing goes to waste. This makes it perfect for squeezing the juice from lemons, oranges, limes and grapefruits as well as for pouring the juice. Normann Copenhagen manufactures the unique and functional kitchen accessory made of soft, flexible silicone and hard plastic which is why Squeezer is easy to clean in the dishwasher.

Almost everyone knows it: The Banker’s lamp - one of the earliest kinds of electric lamps which can be found in offices all over the world since the invention of electric light itself. As a matter of fact, the lamp shade became popular through countless movies but it originally stems from the 20 th century. Ron Gilad says: " Originally they were used by bankers, who worked long hours, looking at small numbers. They needed extra light on their desk to make their job a little easier ". On the basis of this long history designer Ron Gilad named his reinterpretation of the banker’s lamp after a traditional investment banking firm. The Goldman Table Lamp is picking up the classic shape of the original lamp and brings it into our modern era without losing its central design elements. Ron Gilad says: " Goldman is designed as a step in the evolution of this traditional lamp, injected with high technology and slick lines ". Whereas the shell of the Goldman Table Lamp reminds one doubtlessly of the original, one can find state-of-the-art technology on the inside: 42 LEDs ensure uniform illumination of the working space while the lamp shade protects from direct glare. On the underside the light sources are also covered by the diffusor so that even direct light appears soft and glare-free. Surprising is the USB connector on the backside of the Goldman Table Lamp whereby nearly every electronic device can be recharged. The High-Tech-impression is emphasised by the discreet Touch Switch that allows to dim the Working Lamp by Flos. By means of these characteristics and its classic-decorative presence the Flos Goldman certainly does not need to hide in the office but is also very suitable to set new and individual accents to various rooms. The Goldman Table Lamp is available with a solid brass base and a green glass shade as well as in a nickel version with smoke grey diffusor.

The extra-long cable and the innovative concept of the pendant lamp with a spherical head from Flos enables architectural and newish light solutions for private and public rooms. The designer Michael Anastassiades explains that he was inspired by three things when he designed the Flos String Light : ”While I’m travelling, I always see the electricity cables which connect power poles from the trains’ windows. And while the train moved fast, I looked at those completely parallel poles and found myself attracted by that incredible discipline and asking myself how that could be possible? It is simply beautiful how power poles are connected and how they equally divide a landscape. I wanted to transmit that vision into my private surroundings. I like how people use the light to divide rooms, especially outside. Only think of a nocturne village square near the Mediterranean sea. The people there have fairy lights hanging in a square of four poles. It would be as if they said: -The party is right here.” Those lights mark the place of an activity. And the last reason, which is as well the most practical one, is the one of how lamps are moved from one place to another, if the power connection isn’t where one needs it. So how is it possible to place a lamp where it looks the best without an effort? Flos String Light: Newish and flexible Equipped with a cable of 12 meters , the Flos String Light pendant enables geometric patterns in every room. Rooms get new architectonic dimensions. If needed, the cables can be re-organized in order to enable different feelings in the room: Patterns of clear linearity up to abstract art are possible. The Flos Foglio cites the 1960s with its round shapes – it is no wonder, since the wall lamp has been designed by Tobia Scarpa in that time. The Flos Foglio wall lamp is a popular classic piece of Italian lamps design with its simple and still unique design. The unusual shape is achieved in a simple and effective procedure: The round ends of a long piece of metal are bent forwards and therewith surrounding the light source. The illuminant itself is horizontally placed in the lamp and directly visible from most of the angles the lamp is watched from. Therefore the lamp spreads direct light, which shines glare-free downwards. These qualities make the classic wall lamp from Flos especially suitable as illumination of corridors, entrances or public rooms. Flos produces the Foglio wall lamp out of steel, which can be ordered powder coated or chrome plated.

With a sharp sense of contemporary Functionalist style, Mogens Lassen designed the iconic Kubus candleholder in 1962. Mogens Lassen actually worked on the Kubus candlestick for a long time before arriving at the shape we know today in 1962. Mogens Lassen may have been dyslexic, but his sense of proportion and mathematics were flawless: Each individual Kubus candlestick is made with exactitude and the relationship between the sides calculated with great precision. Absolutely nothing has been left to chance. The collection developed into a mathematical series of candlesticks topped with candleholders. Originally, Mogens Lassen created the Kubus 1 for a restaurant in Zealand, for which he also designed the rest of the interior. Just like it was planned by the inventor, the geometrical candleholder gathered people around the tables and inspired them with its impressively simple and still unusual form. Even today the Kubus 1 candleholder by by Lassen delights this restaurant - but nowadays even more people can enjoy the iconic design. Today, the Kubus candlesticks are made by skilled artisans in Holstebro, and thus represent true Danish craftsmanship. The candleholders are made out of lacquered steel by the brand by Lassen and are available in different variants.

Part of the series of luminaires is a table Lamp, a floor lamp and a pendant lamp which are made of similar constructional elements and only differ partly in their structure. The minimalist lamps, created by the Japanese studio Nendo for the manufacturer Wästberg, are available with three different archetypal forms of lampshades: A cylinder, a cone and a hemisphere. Through the middle of each lampshade runs a rod-shaped holder where the power supply is placed: Whereas the pendant lamp has its power cable on the upper end, the supply of the table and floor lamp is mounted on the lower end. Above all, the table and floor lamp only differ in length of the height adjustable light rod (by screw). Brilliantly simple and absolutely reduce - that fits almost all components of the lamp series. As a small detail, the diffusor hides in the inner of the lampshade which spreads the directly downwards emitted light in a non-dazzling, soft and pleasant way. Thanks to the clear, geometrical design language, the Cylinder w132t2 can be positioned almost anywhere - both in the living room and public buildings. A central joint between the arms of the lamp ensures the highest possible flexibility. The arms can be aligned independently and adopt extreme positions. This allows the illumination of every angle as well as the space saving connection of the lamp which becomes a sculpture at the same time. Also the huge handle at the head of Fortebraccio is remarkable. It was intended by the designers to make it big and viewable so that the lamp shade can be adjusted comfortably. Moreover there is an easy controllable switch outside of the handle. The table and working lamp Fortebraccio is offered in different colours and with diverse bases by Luceplan. We suggest an illuminant with an E14 socket and maximal 60 Watt.

James Irvine says: "The theme of the task lamp is one of those design projects which always has to measure itself with great masterpieces from the past. Hundreds have been invented over the years. Some of them so brilliant that they are hard to beat." However, most of them are full of springs and knobs and complicated hinges. Irvine saw a need for immediate action depending the simplification of the design, and because of this stimulus he designed his Irvine Table Lamp w082 for Wästberg. A calm object which withdraws from any visible complexity and is thereby stimulating and refreshing. Technological, the Irvine Table Lamp w082 by Wästberg is ultramodern despite the minimalist design: In the flat lamp head hides an energy-efficient LED technology which can be regulated steplessly with the decent dimmer button on the base of the Table Lamp. The result is a broadly warm white scattered light which is non-dazzling because of the diffusor. Therefore, the Irvine Table Lamp w082 is absolutely ideal for working purpose. All three hinges of the Irvine Table lamp w082 by Wästberg can be rotated 360° - because of the missing cable. The following result is a kind of flexibility which nobody would expect regarding such a reduced design of the lamp. Wästberg manufacturers the Irvine w082 completely out of aluminium which underscores the luxurious character of the table lamp.

Simplicity often belongs to braveness. This is proven by Inga Sempé with its minimalistic Sempé Pendant Lamp w103s1 , which she designed for the Swedish manufacturer Wästberg. One of the biggest advantages of the simple design of the Sempé pendant lamp 2103s1 is the free combinability: The pendant lamp is beautiful alone, in a group of lamps, in traditional or modern rooms, geometrical or without any organization. The filigree shapes and the soft-matt, almost pastel-like colours make the Wästberg w103s1 weightless and harmonic. The energy efficient LED light of the pendant lamp is transformed into a soft, glare-free light by means of a diffusor, which is suitable for the illumination of dining tables or other central places in private homes, restaurants or waiting halls by means of the cone-like light spread. The aluminium made Sempé pendant lamp is available in different colours. Moreover the pendant lamp is available as two-arms edition w103s2, as three-arms edition w103s3 or as chandelier with six lamps (w103s6p), as wall lamp and as table lamp.

Wästberg - Nendo Table Lamp Sphere w132t3
The Nendo Sphere w132t3 from Wästberg is a table lamp, which represents the result of its single parts. What might seem obvious and natural, is really a characteristic of the lamp’s construction. A table lamp, a floor lamp and a pendant lamp belong to the collection and they all have similar construction elements, differing in their details. The minimalistic lamps, designed by the Japanese studio Nendo for Wästberg, are available with lampshades in three archetype shapes: A cylinder, a cone and a sphere. A tubular support runs through the middle of every shade, hiding the electricity source in its end: While the cable of the pendant lamp is in the upper end of it, the cable of the table and floor lamps hides in the foot. Table and floor lamps differ in the length of the (with a screw) height adjustable light tube. These are all the components of the lamps – genius and absolutely reduced. There is a diffusor hidden inside of the lampshade, which spreads the light directly downwards softly, glare-free and pleasantly. The Sphere w132t3 fits in almost every place because of its clear, geometrical design – in private homes and in public rooms. The Wästberg Sphere w132 is also available as Table Lamp Cone , as Table Lamp Cylinder and as Pendant Lamp Sphere. There are more colours of this table lamp available, and the model can also be ordered as pendant and floor lamp.

Wästberg - Claesson Koivisto Rune Pendant Lamp w131
The design team Claesson Koivisto Rune designed a contemporaneous pendant lamp with an archetypical form with their w131. The diameter of 12 cm is rather small, but this doesn’t mean that there is less light coming out of the w131. The light’s intensity, the energy efficiency and especially the light beam angle depends on the used illuminant, as it is the case for many lamps. The w131 pendant lamp from Wästberg offers many options for the suitable bulb with its Gu10 socket. Another advantage is the size of the w131 when the pendant lamp should be installed together with some more on top of a larger dining table for example. The different colours in which the lamp is available offer numerous construction possibilities, which is the reason why it is also suitable for bigger furnishing projects in public places. The soft and friendly expression of the Claesson Koivisto Rune pendant lamp w131 comes from the material, since the sand cast aluminium of the lampshade is delivered with a textile cable in a colour adapted to the shade.

Historical design icons such as the steering wheel of a legendary Citroën DS were the source of inspiration for the Claesson Koivisto Rune floor lamp w126f. While the design of the lamp from Wästberg acts retro-futuristic, the technique is absolutely modern. The design team Claesson Koivisto Rune designed a lamp which is equally suitable for offices and homes with their w126f: Two powerful, independent LED light sources at the surface and base of the lamp’s head make up the core of the floor lamp w126f. It is possible to adjust both: The indirect light upwards or the direct light downwards. The Claesson Koivisto Rune floor lamp w126f is intuitively adjusted via two simple touch-sensors. Both light sources aren’t only adjusted independently there, but they are also step-less dimmable. Of course both light sources (46 W and 28 W) can also be switched on and adjusted at the same time. This makes the w126f a real all-rounder: As ceiling flooder id spreads pleasant indirect light to feel well and to illuminate a whole room. If the lower light is switched on, direct light will shine through the glare-free diffuser, which is usable as reading light or working light. This is how the w126f always spreads suitable light, which is individually adjustable in its intensity and direction. The 250 energy efficient LEDs spread warm white light with 3000 K, which changes the ambience in the room as well as its own character according to how it is dimmed. The Wästberg w126 is also available in further colours and as working lamp (with pin support).

The Essence carafe adopts the outlines of the glasses and completes the popular collection. Alfredo Häberli designed this new series with an essential idea: With as few glasses as possible he still wanted to be able to serve a full range of fine wines in proper glasses. The Essence glasses have become a true demonstration of thoughtful design. Standing next to each other, they create a wonderful sense of balance. This is due to the fact that the stem and base of each glass are of the same size, while the tumblers share similar proportions. They are easy to grasp and handle, and we suspect they make fine wines even more enjoyable.

Plastic can be environmentally friendly! ”When I first thought of the design of my table lamp, I had the demand of questioning the cognition of common utilities of the material, known only as -plastic’ by most of the people. I wanted to go further than what was normal, not only regarding the function and the appearance, but also regarding the touch of the material” , explained Dirk Winkel. The German designed soon realized the big deficit of most of the plastic products: The substance, the material itself. That’s the reason why the material is celebrated just the way it is in the Wästberg Winkel table lamp 127b2 : Straight forward, without hiding anything. The cable lying outside, the visible spring feathers and the geometrical outlines make the design this pure and honest. Inside of the w127 there is energy efficient Multichip-LED-Technology. Multichip means that the single diodes are aligned like a cluster – this is how micro-shadows are avoided and the light becomes exceptionally homogeneous. The light of the working lamp by Wästberd is step less adjustable with an integrated IR-dimmer switch at the lamp’s head and it is glare-free because of a diffuser. Another technical refinement is the integrated timer, which switches the light off automatically after five hours of performance. Wästberg produces the Winkel table lamp 127b2 out of injection moulded bio polyamide, fiberglass reinforced. About 60% of the lamp is made of biological material , gained out of the so-called wonder tree of tropical woods. The castor-oil producing plant doesn’t affect the aliments production: It is ecological and socially compatible. Wästberg offers the lamps in two basic editions: The Winkel w127b1 has two joints and one arm, while the 2-arms w127b2 has three joints. Both editions are available with different mounting parts (foot, table clamp, pin and clamp) and in the colours white, grey, red and black.

The specialty of the 3D-version of the carafe from Eva Solo is the coating: While the standard fridge carafe has a neoprene coating, the 3D edition has a Mesh-coating with three dimensional structure. This one keeps drinks on their temperature outside of the fridge, as well as the neoprene coating. The fridge carafe is dishwasher-safe and it is a functional and decorative element for the table at home and for the picnic in the park.

Iittala - Rondello Paper Napkin lilac
Alfredo Häberli, who grew up in Buenos Aires and lives in Zurich, is a designed by heart. This is how he designed a special Christmas pattern in red tones for Iittala. The pattern was printed on Geschirrtücher , paper napkins and other products. Since the pattern of the Rondello paper napkin is simple and graphical, it doesn’t only suit the Christmas season. During the rest of the year it will dry everything, especially because the combination of linen and cotton greatly suctions humidity. Iittala lives the Mix & Match principle, which represents the free combinability of all the Iittala products. The Rondello towels are wonderfully combinable with many other products of the collection of the Finnish company, but as well with those of other manufacturers. For example Teema and Taika are wonderful partners for the Rondello series by Alfredo Häberli.
