    Bernhardt Design Mitt Lounge Chair
Design Claudia + Harry Washington, 2013. Upholstery, casters (wheels), loop cording. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. Often very specific requirements result in the most interesting design. Some of the most enduring furniture was designed for a particular purpose - think Arne Jacobsen and the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Successful products address particular problems, but also have relevance beyond those immediate solutions. Such is the case with Harry and Claudia Washington's new Mitt lounge - a very personal chair that far transcends its original context. The chair's comfortable and relaxed form, reminiscent of a baseball glove, served as the inspiration and provided its name, Mitt. True to form, stitching and tailoring plays an integral part in its appeal. The soft profile of the chair is highlighted by a distinctive loop cording around the perimeter. The design is relaxed, casual and open, which allows users to sit in different ways, depending on the situation. Harry met Claudia in 2001, while they were both earning degrees in interior design at the University of Applied Arts in San Salvador. They founded their design studio DUE in October 2004 & FabricaDUE in 2005, which operates through artisan techniques and local manual labor to manufacture the designs generated in the studio. Their works include residential interior architecture, space planning, retail interior design, and the creation of branding concepts for retail stores. In El Salvador, both Harry and Claudia are frequent lecturers at the University of Applied Arts, The Esen Business School, and the Monica Herrera Marketing School. Their works are exhibited at the Marte Museum of Art in San Salvador. Mitt is fully upholstered and features weight-locking castors, a distinctive loop cording and available with or without a matching handle. It may be upholstered in a variety of fabrics or leathers and contrast cording may be specified. With these functional specifications Mitt allows users to quickly move the chair to suit their needs in a space. Mitt is the perfect chair for the guaranteed constant in our world - change. 33.5" w | 33.5" d | 32" h | seat: 16.5" h.

Bernhardt Design Charles Pollock Cp1 Bench
Design Charles Pollock, 2013. Steel frame, upholstery. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. In 2012, the 82-year-old Charles Pollock introduced his first new product in America since the debut of his iconic Pollock Chair forty-seven years earlier. Likened by the iconic designer to a classic Jaguar sports car, the CP collection blends a sleek, aerodynamic stainless steel frame with a luxurious natural leather seat and exquisite craftsmanship to create a truly timeless functional piece of art. Bernhardt Design has introduced the CP1 bench to complement Pollock's existing lounge chairs and tables. Pollock's designs were governed by two principles. Creatively, he favored a continuous curved line when sketching ideas and creating forms. The second principle was that any product must be visually attractive, functional, and affordable. His designs were technically advanced, yet easy to manufacture at a reasonable price. Pollock is the recipient of numerous awards and his work is exhibited in many museums around the world. CP1 bench features a polished stainless steel frame and a hand-quilted seat and back with a looped stitched cording tracing the perimeter of the chair. It is available in your choice of a variety of felt and leather upholstery options. You may select a contrasting looped stitching color from the selection provided, or Bernhardt Design will select the color that best matches the felt/leather selection. 56.5" w | 26.5" d | 16.4" h.

    Bernhardt Design Anne Lounge Chair
Design Ross Lovegrove. Solid American Walnut, upholstery. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. "When thinking about this project, my starting point was the American courthouse chair. These chairs were such a visible part of the American landscape because of their very powerful presence. Using this historical reference, I wanted to create a chair that is contemporary and a reflection of my design vocabulary. I have worked with so many different materials in my career and used various technologies, but I have never designed a wood chair, and it is something I have always wanted to do. As in all my work, the Anne chair is about sculpting a material: creating something that has a human dimension and looks interesting from any view. In the case of chairs, there must be some reference for the eye to read comfort and tactility. For this reason I wanted to use walnut, because it has so much character and depth. It is a warm material, and you can almost feel the age of the tree in its personality. This Anne chair is complex to make and It is a combination of old-world craftsmanship and technology using master carvers and seven Axis CNC machines. My concept for the leather seat was similar to people buying jeans that look and feel a little broken-in before they are worn. I wanted the seat to be very fluid, almost as if it were poured into the frame, as opposed to being a distinctly separate element. This casual draping effect speaks to prior use and provides a visual cue regarding comfort. The final result is a chair that is rather timeless, one where it is difficult to assign a time and date." - Ross Lovegrove. Ross Lovegrove studied design at Manchester Polytechnic and subsequently trained at the Royal College of Art in London. At frog design, he contributed to the design of the Sony Walkman and Apple computers. As an in-house designer for Knoll International in Paris, Lovegrove worked on the Alessandri office system. As a co-member of the Atelier de Nimes, along with Philippe Starck and Jean Nouvel, he acted as a design consultant to Luis Vuitton, Cacharel, Dupont and Hermés. In 1990, he created Studio X in London. Lovegrove is inspired by forms of the natural world, the possibilities of new manufacturing techniques and the ability to evoke an emotional response in users. The Anne chair, which derives its name from Bernhardt Design founder Anne Harper Bernhardt, is available in solid American walnut with a hand oiled natural finish. The seat has a flange stitch detail and is available in your choice of upholstery in a range of colorways. 25.6" w | 25" d | 29.5" h | seat: 16.5" h.

    Bernhardt Design Harper Rocking Chair
Design Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance, 2013. Solid cherry, maple spindles. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. "In my mind the rocking chair was invented in America, although I'm sure that is not true in fact. For me, designing a new rocking chair is the ideal way to celebrate the heritage, imagination, and craftsmanship of Bernhardt Design. The Adirondack chair served as early inspiration, but my focus soon turned to the Windsor rocking chair, whose complexity and refinement are remarkable. I wanted to take the essential elements of the Windsor rocker and put them together in a new and different way. The exterior of the Harper chair is very much like a birds nest with a structure composed of twigs. The interior. is a cocoon - in this instance a suspended cocoon. The seat and back appear to be floating inside the nest. I wanted to bring warmth and texture to the cocoon, rather than use the typical wood seat found in a Windsor chair. To achieve this, I looked at leather saddles as a point of reference. The floating saddle seat brings a level of tailoring and quality to the chair, while still maintaining an important sense of familiarity. It was important that we use classic American woods: maple for the spindles and cherry for the structure. The choice of maple for the spindles was very deliberate, selected for its light color and visual transparency. The contrast between the two woods enables you to follow the form of the chair and easily see the suspended interior. For me, the most special aspect of Harper is that you experience something different from every perspective. As you walk around the chair it is constantly changing and becoming something new." - Noe Duchafour-Lawrance. Named in honor of Bernhardt Design founder Anne Harper Bernhardt, the Harper chair is constructed in solid American cherry and American maple with a natural clear finish. With age, the cherry elements will darken. The seat is offered with a flange stitch detail and available in your choice of fabric or leather in a range of colorways. 29" w | 31.75" d | 27" h | seat: 15.75" h.

Following the successful 2012 launch of the CP Lounge Collection for Bernhardt Design, Pollock expands his breadth with his first-ever series of occasional tables. Bernhardt Design debuted the cp.3 Table collection. One of Pollock's guiding principles is purity, and he often refers to his designs as "simple lines in space." This minimalist philosophy is evident in Pollock's new tables. Pared to the essentials, each table is composed of intersecting lines with one special detail. The rectangular crossbars are offset slightly at the intersection with the tubular legs, and the ends are curved to emulate each leg's radius. "Designing tables was something new for me, so I decided to take a new approach. Much of my work has been about reducing forms down to a single line. These tables are about using lines to build something up. The joint detail implies they are assemblages," says Pollock. "Nothing in life emerges fully formed; everything is a work in progress." The cp.3 Tables are available as 42 inch diameter coffee tables or 22 inch diameter side tables, with polished stainless steel bases with 1/2 inch flat edge leaded glass tops. 21" dia. | 18" h.

"Their work is all about simplicity and purity and since that is what we strive for… I knew we were in good hands." - Jerry Helling. The Cycle family was based on the reduction of elements. Following a geometric approach, the designers wanted to create something that appears very light yet elegant. In creating the design, every line and every detail was critical. Hansandfranz spent much time working on the juncture of the metal base as it turns to meet the upholstery, making sure it was perfect to make the piece work. The Cycle family of products is comprised of a round stool, round bench and an oval bench. In each, a tailored upholstered cushion floats above two symmetric loops of stainless steel. The exception is the elegant elongation of one metal loop to create the oval bench. Resulting from the marriage between the centuries-old tradition of blown glass and the industrial appeal of metal, the Metal Glass lamp recalls an alchemist's still or a lantern from a Gothic setting. It is distinguished by a dense and almost opaque transparency, which is achieved by pouring soda powder into the still-incandescent vitreous paste. The ensuing chemical reaction creates a myriad of bubbles which are transformed into luminous particles, when the lamp is on. The borosilicate glass cylinder inside spreads the light while being part of the design. Design Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, 2012. Blown satin glass, coated metal. Made in Italy by Foscarini. The challenge was to translate the lightness of washi paper used in oriental lanterns into a group of glass lights. Only Foscarini's experience, combined with the skill of master Murano glassmakers made this creation possible. A family of lamps all concentrated on the diffuser and defined by the volume and material nature of glass. Lamps with diffused light, available in two versions with G9 or E27 lampholder. A collection of three diffuser shapes in hand-blown glass made using a glass-blowing procedure without turning the glass in the mold (referred to as "stationary"); the striped effect is achieved using a mold with negative decorations which are repeated across the surface of the glass, which is subsequently ground manually "by belt" and which then undergoes immersion in acid in order to emphasize the plaster-like effect. Foscarini Aplomb Wall Lamp
Design Paolo Lucidi & Luca Pevere, 2014. concrete, varnished metal & brushed steel. Made in Italy by Foscarini. Aplomb wall lamp continues a project which begun in 2010. An exploration of the expressive possibilities of rough concrete made fluid in its mold and thrilling to see and touch thanks to its special amalgam. Like the original hanging model, the Aplomb wall lamp has undergone a size mutation: from the world of architecture and building-echoed in its raw material - to the domestic environment. Aplomb wall lamp has retained it decisive form and the oblique movement of the diffuser merges into and dialogues with its supporting structure and allows for wider ranging light diffusion. The concrete blocks the light completely and then releases it from both the large opening at the top and the smaller one at the bottom. The beam of light directed upwards is reflected onto the wall and ceiling, lighting up the room without ever dazzling. The more delicate beam of light directed downwards, by contrast, creates a sophisticated interplay of light on the walls. Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere got together at well-known design offices in Milan. In 2002 they signed their first commissions together and, in 2006, establish Studio Lucidi & Pevere in Milan. These days, Studio Lucidi & Pevere is based in Udine and still undertakes industrial design work for internationally renowned companies, belonging to a large number of different sectors. The concrete is offered in three, colored finishes which celebrate its personality, from the traditional grey of cement in its raw state, which adds depth to the volumes, to a stylish white hue, and a warm intense brown. The Aplomb wall lamp mounts to a standard wall junction box. 9.5" h | 11.75" w | 6" d | requires 1x120W RSC Type T3 halogen bulb.

    Foscarini Aplomb Floor Lamp
Design Paolo Lucidi & Luca Pevere, 2013. concrete, white lacquered metal. Made in Italy by Foscarini. The Aplomb project explores the technological and expressive possibilities of concrete, a rough yet at the same time appealing material, achieving a leap of scale and genre: from large contemporary architectural buildings to a small designer lamp. The challenge has been met with impeccable 'aplomb', thanks to the use of special concrete that is particularly fluid in molding and has a material effect that is both rough and, at the same time, elegant. Aplomb floor lamp is the newest addition to the family which creates direct, up-lighting. In its shape and use, Aplomb recalls a burning torch, to be grabbed and moved easily to where it is needed. Its light beam is an intense up-light, but it creates no glare because it is completely screened from view by the shape that encloses the light source. Foscarini Stewie Floor Lamp
Design Luca Nichetto, 2012. Fabric coated polyethylene foam, lacquered metal. Made in Italy by Foscarini. Stewie introduces a new kind of light. The concept behind the project, whose name is derived from a famous cartoon, is the result of the careful observation of an object that has nothing to do with lighting design: a washbasin placed in an unusual location in their studio that has the air of a work by Duchamp. Its form is what inspired the idea to design a lamp that is innovative in terms of its form, its dimensions, and its positioning. By melding the study of the washbasin with an analysis of Japanese paper lamps, Nichetto came up with Stewie: a floor lamp whose illumination, which emanates from below but also radiates upward, puts the objects it illuminates "in a new light". Stewie can also be faced toward the wall in order to create a softer, more diffused light. The polymeric foam employed to make the lamp was carefully selected for specific characteristics, namely its lightness, its permeability to light, and its ability to be paired with fabric. Stewie is thus a shell whose light source is housed within a textile filling that filters the illumination. Stewie is offered in two color choices. 30.25" w | 10.25" d | 27" h | cord: 102" L | on/off switch: 43" from lamp. requires 1x40W 2GX13 fluorescent bulb.

Three different yet concurrently complementary shapes, balancing between the east and the west. A family of lamps that sheds its relaxing light in the most diverse settings, conveying the magic of rice paper or mulberry tree bark, the raw materials of traditional Japanese lanterns, in the precious physical appeal of blown and frosted glass. The horizontal lines which cut across the surface of the lamps give rise to a soft and charming décor and at the same time contribute to filtering the intensity of the light source, diffusing a full, warm and soft light into the room. They are perfect for use alone or in a harmonious composition of shapes; on a bedside table, a console and a table or even on the floor: for an area dedicated to relaxation or as meditation lamps, wisely lighting both the space we live in as well as our interior world. Ludovica + Roberto Palomba are a group of architects and designers based in Milan, Italy. They primarily deal with architecture, industrial design, exhibit design, art direction, communications and marketing consulting. The collection of three diffuser shapes in hand-blown glass made using a glass-blowing procedure without turning the glass in the mold (referred to as "stationary"); the striped effect is achieved using a mold with negative decorations which are repeated across the surface of the glass, which is subsequently ground manually "by belt" and which then undergoes immersion in acid in order to emphasize the plaster-like effect. The diffuser rests on a die cast zinc alloy tripod coated with epoxy powder paint with a rough finish on the metal surface. Foscarini Yoko Table Lamp
Design Anderssen & Voll, 2013. Polycarbonate, PMMA. Made in Italy by Foscarini. The Yoko table lamp is a large table lamp from the idea of two intersecting spheres. A frail soap bubble embracing the solid light. Yoko was conceived and built thanks to lengthy and painstaking research of materials and form. Countless tests were carried out meticulously with an acute attention to the detail of the curvature of the lamps silhouette. The extremely sophisticated technology involved plays a fundamental role. It however remains concealed by the rarefied silhouette, and by the perfect balance between the two main pieces. The development of the original concept was skillfully changed to a sophisticated industrialization process; Yoko was made based on the blown molding technique with an innovative material such as Polymethilmethacrylate (PMMA). These modern materials and technologies have made it possible to create an object with immense appeal and with a strong personality. Yoko is offered in your choice of three colors. 16.1" h | base: 1.3" dia. | shade: 4.75" dia. | 12.2" h. requires 1x26W E26 compact fluorescent bulb.

Design Jean-Marie Massaud, 2014. Varnished aluminum, zinc alloy, super magnet. Made in Italy by Foscarini. Lightwing is made up of a slender, streamlined stem containing its LED light source with a chip especially designed to meet its technical requirements in terms of light performance. A spherical supermagnet supports a soft outline, asymmetrical screen which can be adjusted to direct light in a great many directions with a simple hand movement. Light intensity can be adjusted according to your taste with a pedal dimmer and this means that any light requirement can be satisfied using lighwing as an environment lamp producing an intense beam of light or as a reading lamp with an intimate, suffused effect. The flexibility of the reflector transforms lightwing's appearance too making it different at different times of day in a continuous interplay of light and shade, grace and solidity. A multi-disciplinary practice devoted to brand, architecture, industrial and furniture design, Studio Massaud was founded in 1996 by Jean-Marie Massaud and Daniel Pouzet. Massaud's aesthetic is characterized by the quest for synthesis, lightness, transparency and the reduction of the superfluous. The studio is an incubator for visual ideas that explore the delicate balance between the physical environment and the economic realities of contemporary experience. Lightwing comes in two color variants, shiny black or white with the internal section of the screen always opaque white. Essential but sophisticated elegance which is ideal for a range of environments and uses. 77" h | base: 9.2" d | 9.2" w | shade: 9.7" w | 7.5" d | cord: 102" L. on/off switch with dimmer: 43" from lamp | includes 34W LED array | 3000K | 3157 lumen.

    Foscarini Tuareg Floor Lamp
Design Ferruccio Laviani, 2014. Varnished aluminum, polycarbonate. Made in Italy by Foscarini. Tuareg's structure is inspired by man-made architecture which is nevertheless bound to the world of nature. It is chaos turned order, non-traditional geometry echoing a work of land art. By means of a complex industrialization process, this initial idea took the form of a three dimensional composition of aluminum tubes creating a spectacularly powerful graphic effect. LED light sources have been incorporated into the extremities of three of these elements which can be switched on and off separately and adjusted 360 degrees in order to vary the light effect and the lamps possible uses. The structure has been made even more minimalist by integrated touch switches and the system used to hide the power cable within tubular elements. A formal totem-like presence highlighted by the expressive power of the lamp's two color variants: a bright orange which echoes the industrial hues of anti-rust paints and black chrome which evokes precious metals. Like a sculptural decoration, Tuareg is the ideal centerpiece for an important reception space in both public and private rooms and in multiple compositions creating veritable light installations too. 44.1" w | 30.6" d | 82.6" h | includes 50, 4W LED bulbs | 3000K | 3750 lumen. cord: 94.4" L | includes touch dimmer.

Today, the rectilinear veneer top is available in five finishes: mahogany, oak, rosewood, teak and walnut. The top features two pencil drawers that provide adequate storage for personal devices and accessories; each drawer contains a solid lumber pencil tray. The steel base is available in either polished or satin chrome. While a student on the campus of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Florence Knoll Bassett became a protegée of Eero Saarinen. She worked briefly for Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Wallace K. Harrison. In 1946, she married Hans Knoll, after which they formed Knoll Associates. As a pioneer of the Knoll Planning Unit, she revolutionized interior space planning with her belief in "total design" - embracing all aspects of design principles which were radical departures from the standard practice in the 1950s, but were quickly adopted and remain widely used today. For her extraordinary contributions to architecture and design, Florence Knoll was accorded the National Endowment for the Arts' prestigious 2002 National Medal of Arts. 72" w | 37.75" d | 29.25" h | base: 42.4" w | 27.4" d.

Design Tom Dixon, 2012. Stoneware, metallic finish, braided cord. Made in the Netherlands by Tom Dixon. Lustre is the first stoneware object in the collection and is handmade in a Dutch family-run factory established over 5-generations. The latest discovery in Tom Dixon's continued exploration of extraordinary metallic finishes, the iridescent sheen is created using a top-secret glaze containing minerals and precious metals. The end result is a striking color change effect reminiscent of peacock feathers or oil slicks on water. The handmade process results in a totally unique and unrepeatable finish for each individual object. No two shades look the same because the glaze fixes to the stoneware in an unpredictable way. This produces a wide spectrum of color across each light, ranging from a pale lime to a deep bottle green. Please Note: Every Lustre light has a unique, different and uncontrollable finish. Design Gamfratesi, 2013. Polycarbonate, metal, zamac. Made in Italy by FontanaArte. Cheshire is a family of table, floor and suspension lamps designed by the Danish/Italian duo GamFratesi. These two designers were inspired by Cheshire Cat for this lamp, the cat described by Carroll in Alice in Wonderland. The cat who follows Alice on her journey is often shown sitting down, waiting for something: this image led to the diffuser, with its curved shape and richly embossed finish. Cheshire definitely expresses the Nordic imprint of this studio, embracing simplicity and practicality, but it also has a strong ironic feel thanks precisely to the image of this cat. The diffuser is in polycarbonate. For the table and floor versions, it is opaque and diffuses light downwards, while the suspended version has a clear diffuser for an all-round diffusion of light. The lamp comes in three different colors: black, white and green. Elegant and contemporary, it is suited to both home and contract settings. 13.8" dia. | 57.1" h | requires 1x30W (opal shade) or 3x23W (colored shade) E26 fluorescent bulbs.

    FontanaArte Lunaire Wall Lamp
Design Ferreol Babin, 2013. Aluminum, methacrylate. Made in Italy by FontanaArte. Lunaire is a wall lamp with a surprising light effect, reminiscent of the phenomenon produced by eclipses. A smaller front disc containing the light source is set inside a large concave aluminium diffuser. Two different effects are possible depending on how the small disc is positioned with respect to the diffuser: back lighting when the front disc is closed, in other words pushed towards the wall, or from inside the diffuser when the disc is pulled forward. Simply pulling or pushing the rod on the front of the disc immediately changes the lighting effect to suit the mood. Thanks to the large diameter of the diffuser, Lunaire is the perfect lighting solution for big areas, be they residential or contract. Lunaire features a reflector and front disc in aluminum and clear sandblasted methacrylate. It is offered with reflector and front disc in white, white reflector and black front disc, polished aluminium reflector and black front, gold leaf covered reflector and black front disk, gold leaf covered reflector and front disk, gold leaf covered reflector and copper leaf covered front disk, copper leaf covered reflector and black front disk, copper leaf covered reflector and gold leaf covered front disk, copper leaf covered reflector and front disk. FontanaArte Cheshire Suspension Lamp
Design Gamfratesi, 2013. Polycarbonate, metal. The suspension lamp is offered in different shade & finish options. The Cheshire collection is elegant and contemporary, it is suited to both home and contract settings. 13.8" dia. | 13.4" h | cable: 118.2" L | requires 3x23W E26 fluorescent bulbs.

    FontanaArte Odeon Floor Lamp
Design Studio Klass, 2013. Polycarbonate, cuoietto leather. Made in Italy by FontanaArte. Odeon is an innovative interpretation of the role of a floor lamp: no longer a distant presence, flooding an entire room with intense, at times invasive, light, it becomes an understated yet elegant presence interacting with the interior design to create reflected light in an intensity that depends on its position, a variable that depends on the user's intuition and interaction, simply by moving it to the desired position. Covered in leather, a warm, natural, touch-friendly material, it has a finger loop for moving it around the home. Pointed towards a wall it creates a wall-washer effect, the width of which will depend on its distance from the wall. Fitted with a fluorescent light source, Odeon teams excellent lighting performance with low energy consumption. The 4 different colors available mean it suits a variety of settings and personalities: white with blue stitching, orange with black stitching, dark brown with brown stitching, cognac with rope stitching. Odeon features a milk white polycarbonate diffuser with a cuoietto leather covered structure. Odeon is perfect for the consumer who enjoys a dynamic home life with a personal new conception of illumination. 25.2" h | 11.8" w | 5.3" d | requires 1x30W E26 fluorescent bulb.

    FontanaArte Albedo Suspension Lamp
Design Studio Drift, 2013. Metal structure, white fabric. Made in Italy by FontanaArte. Albedo is a lamp inspired by an installation in Dubai in 2012, which in turn is the poetic and emotional interpretation of the slow fluctuating movement of jellyfish. The result is a suspension lamp that is radiant, light and immaterial in its elegant shape. The diffuser is in fabric, laser cut and cleverly folded and stitched to create, once inserted onto the metal structure, multi-facetted unusual shapes. In white, it can be taken off and put back on, washable, quite easily. The light source, housed inside a central cylindrical volume in polycarbonate, produces a warm light that the fabric diffuser helps to reflect and radiate. The cylinder has an upper cover, which is easy to remove when the bulb needs replacing. Albedo features a white fabric diffuser (machine washable) with a metal structure. It includes a clear power cable and steel suspension cables. It is available in three sizes and suitable for the home living room, or larger contract interiors (for example a reception or the lounge in a hotel or even a restaurant). Highly theatrical, Albedo is the child of the visionary talent of Dutch artists Ralph Nauta and Lonneke Gordijn, founders of Studio Drift, who made their name on the international scene with their artistic installations, extremely renowned works with a high technological content inspired by the world of nature. small albedo: 18.5" dia. | 18.9" h | cable: 78.7" L | requires 1x32W GU24 halogen bulb. medium albedo: 27.5" dia. | 18.5" h | cable: 78.7" L | requires 1x32W GU24 halogen bulb. large albedo: 39.7" dia. | 22.8" h | cable: 78.7" L | requires 3x25W GU24 halogen bulbs.
