The Swag leg group from George Nelson is back! Each piece displays the distinctively slender and majestic metal legs that give the "swag" appearance to the group. The beauty and unique design of each piece combined with the legendary quality from Herman Miller makes the Swag leg group a pleasant addition. Herman Miller founder D.J. DePree saw an article in a 1945 Life magazine featuring George Nelson's Storagewall unit, which was causing a sensation in the furniture industry. He was so impressed that he paid a visit to Nelson in New York and convinced him to be his director of design, which spurred Nelson to found his design firm, George Nelson & Associates. The warm personal and professional relationship between Nelson and DePree yielded a stunning range of products, from the playful Marshmallow Sofa to the first L-shaped desk, a precursor of today's workstation. Separate seat and back. The swag leg chair has a look that's light-scaled and sculpted; the chair shell flexes with the sitter and prevents heat buildup. Features wide, flat armrests so forearms can rest comfortably. Design Front, 2010. Polyurethane foam, hardwood frame, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Design as exploration, as an experience of difference. Two primitive, rough pine planks confuse the senses and alter the perception: visual trickery, promising solidity which is merely an illusion. Touch it and be surprised: the wood is soft and merely the effect of a super realistic digital photo print. Beneath the cover is no-distortion, different density foam, while the frame is in real wood and the legs are in pine plywood with adjustable height glides. Front started in 2003 by a design group of four. All members are involved in the design process from initial discussions and ideas to final product. Their works are based on common discussions, exploring and investigations about different topics. And the final products often communicate a story to the observer about the design process, conventions within the product field or the material it is made of. Shifting, flowing lines give the Moon chair a profile which seems evanescent rather than solid, absorbing and diffusing a faint, refined glow. Size, on Moon, is an illusion. From the side, the curves of the seat merge with the cylindrical form of the base to bring to mind a flower in bloom, a concession to the organic in this rigorously geometric order. From the front, the glow from the seat as the light appears and disappears is enchantingly magical. What makes the form so original is the reverberations that emanate from the different planes. It is a new form of three-dimensionality which enhances the stylish lines and the moon-like quality of the piece which originates in the interaction of the solid with the evanescent. Tokujin Yoshioka, is a great "couturier" with a meticulous eye for detail, he is a designer whose delicate, poetic, elegant designs help us to dream. Moroso Mark Side Table
Design Mark Thorpe, 2010. Powder-coated sheet steel. Made in Italy by Moroso. The cantilevered Mark table is designed as a minimal pull up surface to accompany seating in the home and in the office. The table's design is an exercise in function dictating form. It is produced out of a single sheet of powder-coated bent steel with an additional laser cut rib to add structural integrity. The wrapping articulation of its design, communicates a new relationship between table and interior furnishings and space. Thorpe states, "the table is as little design possible, that makes this table successful. The table is less about itself as an object and more about the relationships it creates, it is relational design." Mark table features powder-coated sheet steel in a variety of color options. 9.75" W | 20" h | 10.75" d.

    Moroso Bohemian Low Armchair
Design Patricia Urquiola, 2008. Injected foam, resin frame, varnished steel, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Patricia Urquiola is the designer who best expresses Moroso's vision; she has therefore created the main range of the new Bohemian collection. She has taken a very original approach to classic capitonné work, giving it a revolutionary modern look. Creating emotions. Patricia's Bohemian family of products - sofa, chaise longue and armchairs - have very fluid forms, almost as if they were melting over their frame, creating soft, irregular, enveloping, almost casual lines, where the fabric or leather is fixed to the shell with press-studs. Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of. The Bohemian low armchair features injected foam over an internal resin frame that sits on a steel swivel base. Very contemporary, a modern slant on a classic. This fresh approach was only possible thanks to Moroso's manual ability and know-how. As if they were working in a fashion atelier, Moroso's "tailors" treat the fabric with supreme nonchalance, transforming it at will, bringing it to life and giving shape to the designer's vision. Please note: one matching 20" seat cushion is included with your order. This product can also be ordered without a seat cushion (please call for to order). All other cushions seen in pictures are not included. Back side is covered in matching upholstery. Covers are removable. Design Isay Weinfeld, 2013. Wood veneer, metal base & pulls. Made in the USA by Geiger® Most storage units have interiors fitted to decades-old proportions. Recognizing this problem, Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld set about creating a smartly edited array of rectangular modules that are smartly edited to reflect our basic storage needs. Designing a system for combining modules so they could adapt to the appropriate heights for a credenza, sideboard, or desk. Creating Domino from the inside out by no means meant Weinfeld neglected the exterior. Beautiful detailing and craftsmanship are everywhere apparent: from the artful veneer application to the mitered corners. Domino is finished on all sides and can serve as a divider between a living and dining room as well as in an open plan office and is available in 26- (credenza) and 40-inch (sideboard) heights, two-, three-, or four-units wide, and in six formatting options. Finish options include walnut, santos palisander, and ebony, with chrome or satin chrome trim with a solid white ash interior. The pieces can serve anywhere in a room and in settings formal or casual. Please note: No 2 products made of natural materials look exactly alike and they will change color with age. Veneer: the lighter the stain, the more you'll see of the grain. Santos palisander has an exuberant grain pattern. Jean Prouvé developed the Compas table in various models around 1950, applying the construction principles that he is known for. All share elegantly splayed, narrow legs in metal, a formal reminder of a compass - in French, "le compas". Jean Prouvé (1901-1984), architect, engineer and designer, was endeavored for using highly-developed technologies for metal processing to achieve innovative constructions and forms in his design and architecture work. He played a decisive part in developing construction techniques using light-weight prefabricated parts in architecture, making use, among other things, of insights from the airplane and automotive industry. In his Ateliers Jean Prouvé, the company he founded in 1947, he started not only producing light-weight components but also his own design drafts. Design Hella Jongerius, 2013. Polyurethane foam & fibers, polyester cover, polyamide bottom. Made in Germany by Vitra. Like all pieces created by Hella Jongerius, Mochi bears the clear signature of the Dutch designer: with its lovingly crafted details and contrasting color combinations, this soft seating object adds a bold accent in any living environment. Mochi is both a spontaneous seating option and a decorative ottoman for lounge chairs and sofas. Hella Jongerius developed several motifs that are full of innuendo and ironic allusions. The first motif, called Lacemaker, shows the head of a girl engrossed in embroidery and is borrowed from a painting by the Dutch master Vermeer van Delft. The portrait is surrounded by a freely formed, looped pattern. The second motif, Pottery, consists of an arrangement of ancient-looking pitchers with little embroidered hearts rising up between them like bubbles. Jongerious uses various stitching styles and different coloured threads for the embroidery, which is realized with the aid of a computer-controlled machine. It gives the images additional charm. The form-fitting knit cover was specially developed for Mochi and is easy to remove and clean. Thanks to the robust bottom surface, the pouf can be used everywhere. 29.5" Dia. | 16.25" H.

    Vitra Verner Panton Visiona Stool
Design Verner Panton, 1970. Polyurethane foam, polystyrene core, MDF base. Made in Germany by Vitra. "Most people spend their lives living in dreary, beige conformity, mortally afraid of using color. The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting." -Verner Panton. In 1970, Danish designer Verner Panton was commissioned by Bayer AG to create Visiona 2, a living landscape that became known as one of the most radical future living scenarios of the 20th century. Inspired by Pop Culture and Science Fiction, Visiona 2 brought the societal transformation of the 1960s and 1970s into the private living sphere, instead of clear room divisions and conventional furniture, Panton applied colorful upholstery elements that projected a relaxed, informal lifestyle. Verner Panton designed the Visiona Stool as part of the interior installation created in 1970 for his legendary Visiona exhibition in Cologne. The compact upholstered stool not only provides practical and comfortable seating but also adds vibrant color accents that can be coordinated with any interior, thanks to the large selection of fabric colors. The unobtrusive geometric shape allows the Visiona Stool to be paired with a wide range of furnishings. Due to its light weight, it can be easily repositioned and combined into spontaneous groupings. The robust fabric cover is secured with an elastic band, which makes it simple to remove and clean. 16" H | 16.5" dia.

    Moroso Ukiyo End Table
Design Tomita Kazuhiko, 2006. Steel wire, polyester resin, kimono fabric. Made in Italy by Moroso. Ukiyo is an end table with a lightweight steel wire structure, in contrast with the boldly decorated table top, formed using traditional kimono fabrics co-pressed with polyester resin. The design is part of a Moroso research project into accessories and decoration. Ukiyo is a well known 18th-century Japanese concept, linked to Shintoist realism, according to which nothing can remain as it is for long, so that living/remaining alive in each moment is the way to attain eternity, as paradoxical as this might seem. Blossoming is the happiest, most radiant time, in which maximum energy is given off everywhere, although no one can say whether the newly-blooming flower will still exist a moment later or not. Thus flowers have been the most widely used decorative motifs ever since the time when all Japanese people wore kimonos. Ukiyo is offered with either a round or rectangular top in your choice of 5 vibrant patterns. Round: 16.5" dia. | 15.75" H. Rectangular: 21.75" w | 17.75" d | 15.75" h.

Design Nendo, 2009. Wood internal frame, foam, plastic, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. With their varying heights, diameters and digitally-produced patterns like wood bark, the pieces in Kub furniture series recall tree stumps. The solid linear metal pieces in the series are a visual play on the 'wireframes' of 3D software, while the volumes of the soft, smooth fabric-covered ones project a strong sense of surface. By combining these oppositional elements-line and surface, nature and artifice, soft and solid-Nendo hoped to generate objects that exist in an ambiguous space between nature and digital expression. Under the direction of architect Oki Sato, the group that gathers under the name Nendo has produced, since 2002, a cultural and refined alternative to self-celebrated design. "Nendo" in Japanese means "clay" and their job, in the field of interior architecture, of furniture and graphics is pliable and flexible as clay. In a short few years, Nendo has received important international credits. The Kub pouf is upholstered in fabrics coupled to polyurethane printed by heat induction. Small: 15.75" dia. | 19" H.
