Design Charles Pollock, 1960. Chrome & black frame finish, leather. Made in USA by Knoll. "It starts as a thought, and then becomes an idea, something I might think about for years. When the time is right, I express it on paper, usually as a simple line in space. Finally, it takes shape." - Charles Pollock. Designed in 1960 and originally manufactured from 1964-79 and now reintroduced in 2014, the steel and leather 'sling chair' or '657', as it is commonly referred to, offers a refined combination of materials and finishes. Tubular steel legs connect to cast-aluminum arms and stretchers with exposed hardware, exemplifying Pollock's 'honest' approach to design. Design Carlo Mollino, 1949. Bent plywood, tempered plate glass, stainless steel. Made in Italy by Zanotta. Arabesco table was originally designed by Mollino in 1949 for the living room of Casa Orenga in Turin. In designing this piece, Mollino started to see pieces of furniture as autonomous objects, incorporating erotic associations into his furniture desings, rather than architectural elements. It is said that the unique look of the tabletop takes its form from the rear-view perspective in Reclining Nude, a drawing by Léonor Fini. Also, the table frame is said to reference Surrealist motifs by Salvador Dali and Jean Arp. His friends called him "Carlo il Bizarro." Architect Carlo Mollino was always attempting to escape the monotony of the everyday working world. He occupied himself in numerous activities outside his profession like photography, race cars, fashion design, composed essays and also did architecture. Throughout his career, Mollino acquired numerous patents for concrete honeycomb constructions, tubular steel joints, and molded plywood elements, inventing devices for creating perspective drawings, streamlined race car bodies, automatic drift correction instruments for airplanes, and improved chain and sprocket drives for bicycles. His works have won numerous awards as well as being showcased in museums around the globe. The Arabesco Table features a bent plywood frame veneered with natural oak. Bernhardt Design Cp1 Lounge Chair & Ottoman
Design Charles Pollock, 2012. Polished stainless steel frame, upholstery. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. In 2012, the 82-year-old Charles Pollock introduced his first new product in America since the debut of his iconic Pollock Chair forty-seven years earlier. Likened by the iconic designer to a classic Jaguar sports car, the CP Lounge chair blends a sleek, aerodynamic stainless steel frame with a luxurious natural leather seat and exquisite craftsmanship to create a truly timeless functional piece of art. The CP lounge is available with either a classic hand-quilted seat reminiscent of vintage car upholstery, or with a streamlined contemporary seat with distinctive stitched-line detailing. Pollock's designs were governed by two principles. Creatively, he favored a continuous curved line when sketching ideas and creating forms. The second principle was that any product must be visually attractive, functional, and affordable. His designs were technically advanced, yet easy to manufacture at a reasonable price. Pollock is the recipient of numerous awards and his work is exhibited in many museums around the world. CP1 lounge chair & ottoman feature a polished stainless steel frame and a hand-quilted seat and back with a looped stitched cording tracing the perimeter of the chair. It is available in your choice of a variety of felt and leather upholstery options. You may select a contrasting looped stitching color from the selection provided, or Bernhardt Design will select the color that best matches the felt/leather selection. Design Charles Pollock, 2012. Polished stainless steel frame, leaded glass top. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. Following the successful 2012 launch of the CP Lounge Collection for Bernhardt Design, Pollock expands his breadth with his first-ever series of occasional tables. Bernhardt Design debuted the cp.3 Table collection. One of Pollock's guiding principles is purity, and he often refers to his designs as "simple lines in space." This minimalist philosophy is evident in Pollock's new tables. Pared to the essentials, each table is composed of intersecting lines with one special detail. The rectangular crossbars are offset slightly at the intersection with the tubular legs, and the ends are curved to emulate each leg's radius. "Designing tables was something new for me, so I decided to take a new approach. Much of my work has been about reducing forms down to a single line. These tables are about using lines to build something up. The joint detail implies they are assemblages," says Pollock. "Nothing in life emerges fully formed; everything is a work in progress." The cp.3 Tables are available as 42 inch diameter coffee tables or 22 inch diameter side tables, with polished stainless steel bases with 1/2 inch flat edge leaded glass tops. cp3 cocktail table: 42" dia. | 15" h.

Design Hansandfranz, 2013. Stainless steel frame, upholstery. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. "Their work is all about simplicity and purity and since that is what we strive for… I knew we were in good hands." - Jerry Helling. The Cycle family was based on the reduction of elements. Following a geometric approach, the designers wanted to create something that appears very light yet elegant. In creating the design, every line and every detail was critical. Hansandfranz spent much time working on the juncture of the metal base as it turns to meet the upholstery, making sure it was perfect to make the piece work. The Cycle family of products is comprised of a round stool, round bench and an oval bench. In each, a tailored upholstered cushion floats above two symmetric loops of stainless steel. The exception is the elegant elongation of one metal loop to create the oval bench. The sheer simplicity of the benches and stools allow them to blend into a furniture landscape or to stand out as strong accents when they are upholstered in active fabrics or colorful leathers. Munich's brightest new talents, hansandfranz make their first appearance on the American design stage with a collection of benches and stools for Bernhardt design. The twenty-something design duo is comprised of Munich natives Horst Wittmann and Konstantin Landuris. Bernhardt Design Harper Rocking Chair
Design Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance, 2013. Solid cherry, maple spindles. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. "In my mind the rocking chair was invented in America, although I'm sure that is not true in fact. For me, designing a new rocking chair is the ideal way to celebrate the heritage, imagination, and craftsmanship of Bernhardt Design. The Adirondack chair served as early inspiration, but my focus soon turned to the Windsor rocking chair, whose complexity and refinement are remarkable. I wanted to take the essential elements of the Windsor rocker and put them together in a new and different way. The exterior of the Harper chair is very much like a birds nest with a structure composed of twigs. The interior. is a cocoon - in this instance a suspended cocoon. The seat and back appear to be floating inside the nest. I wanted to bring warmth and texture to the cocoon, rather than use the typical wood seat found in a Windsor chair. To achieve this, I looked at leather saddles as a point of reference. The floating saddle seat brings a level of tailoring and quality to the chair, while still maintaining an important sense of familiarity. It was important that we use classic American woods: maple for the spindles and cherry for the structure. The choice of maple for the spindles was very deliberate, selected for its light color and visual transparency. The contrast between the two woods enables you to follow the form of the chair and easily see the suspended interior. For me, the most special aspect of Harper is that you experience something different from every perspective. As you walk around the chair it is constantly changing and becoming something new." - Noe Duchafour-Lawrance. Named in honor of Bernhardt Design founder Anne Harper Bernhardt, the Harper chair is constructed in solid American cherry and American maple with a natural clear finish. With age, the cherry elements will darken. The seat is offered with a flange stitch detail and available in your choice of fabric or leather in a range of colorways. 29" w | 31.75" d | 27" h | seat: 15.75" h.

Design Pierre Paulin, 1962. Steel frame, mdf floor plate, upholstery. Made in Holland by Artifort. Artifort is proud of its history, which is why they have brought back Pierre Paulin's F564 and C565 in 2014. They have called them 'Nest'. It is a well-loved design from a previous Artifort collection, with beautiful flowing lines and offering great sitting comfort. It is a little retro and very charming, soft, and friendly. The armchair is ideal for times when you want to curl up on your own with a book or a tablet computer, while the compact two-seater sofa is perfect for cosy lounging with your other half. Both are fully upholstered, yet they look light because of the narrow base. Pierre Paulin studied stone carving and clay modeling at the Ecole Camondo in Paris in the early fifties where he began designing furniture for Thonet. In 1958, he became the designer for Artifort where he created a series of sculptural chairs with an inner structure of steel tubing, covered in foam and fabric. In 1968, Paulin collaborated with Le Mobilier National and received many important government commissions including furniture and interiors for the Elysee Palace in Paris. He also designed home appliances. The Nest collection is a direct relation of the Mushroom and has the same structure, a steel frame covered with cut foam, Dacron, and upholstery made of stretchy fabric with a minimum number of straight-stitched seams. Design Patricia Urquiola, 2009. Polyurethane foam, internal steel frame, PVC. Made in Italy by Moroso. Rift, to borrow the geological term for crack or fissure, is a seating system which cuts across the contemporary domestic living space. Unlike modular systems which are based on the rational use of geometry, Rift is built around an unexpected and asymmetric positioning of different volumes, an intentional randomness inspired by the unpredictability of nature. Multiple layers form relaxed seating, designed for the individual yet perfect for the public places: like tectonic plates, the different layers tend to collide and overlap giving a highly original impression of movement , transforming even the most formal space into something fluid yet without ever altering its character. Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. Design Patricia Urquiola, 2008. Injected foam, resin frame, varnished steel, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Patricia Urquiola is the designer who best expresses Moroso's vision; she has therefore created the main range of the new Bohemian collection. She has taken a very original approach to classic capitonné work, giving it a revolutionary modern look. Creating emotions. Patricia's Bohemian family of products - sofa, chaise longue and armchairs - have very fluid forms, almost as if they were melting over their frame, creating soft, irregular, enveloping, almost casual lines, where the fabric or leather is fixed to the shell with press-studs. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of. The Bohemian tall armchair features injected foam over an internal resin frame that sits on a steel swivel base. Very contemporary, a modern slant on a classic. This fresh approach was only possible thanks to Moroso's manual ability and know-how. As if they were working in a fashion atelier, Moroso's "tailors" treat the fabric with supreme nonchalance, transforming it at will, bringing it to life and giving shape to the designer's vision. Please note: one matching 23" seat cushion is included with your order. This product can also be ordered without a seat cushion (please call for to order). Moroso Shitake Stool
Design Marcel Wanders, 2007. Rotational molded recyclable polyethylene. Made in Italy by Moroso. Shitake is a mushroom which grows on tree trunks and in Dutch its name means "a bench for elves". Marcel Wanders has experimented with the potential offered by rotational molding to design a stool with an irregular, ironic shape which is reminiscent of a mushroom. The result is fun, irreverent yet enriched by the careful working of its surface which has been decorated to give the impression that it is covered in raised embroidery. The stools are hollow so that they can be filled with water, sand or other materials and resealed with the removable cap. Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel, the Netherlands and graduated cum laude from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988. His fame started with the iconic Knotted Chair in 1996. He is now designing for the biggest European contemporary design manufacturers including Moooi of which he is also art director and co-owner. He works on architectural, interior design and consumer home appliances. His designs have been selected for the most important design collections and exhibitions around the world. Moroso Bohemian Low Armchair
She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of. The Bohemian low armchair features injected foam over an internal resin frame that sits on a steel swivel base. Please note: one matching 20" seat cushion is included with your order. This product can also be ordered without a seat cushion (please call for to order). All other cushions seen in pictures are not included. Back side is covered in matching upholstery. Design Patricia Urquiola, 2009. Self-skin polypropylene, steel base, upholstered seat cushion. Available in both the arm and side chair formats in eight archival colors, the chairs can be configured with a choice of wire, dowel leg, stacking, rocker, and 4-leg bases. An array of trim, finely tailored Hopsak fabrics designed by Alexander Girard, Herman Miller's Textile Director from 1952 to 1973, round out the collection of shell customization options, fully restoring the integrity of the original 1953 shell chair offerings. All chairs can be recycled through the Herman Miller Take Back Program. With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look." With the molded plastic, fiberglass, and wood shell chairs -as well as the wire chair- the Eames' have created a universal response to what everyone wants from a chair: a simple, gracious form that fits any body and every place. 18.5" w | 21" d | 31.75" h | seat: 16.5" h.
