    Moroso Soft Wood Sofa
Design Front, 2010. Polyurethane foam, hardwood frame, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Design as exploration, as an experience of difference. Two primitive, rough pine planks confuse the senses and alter the perception: visual trickery, promising solidity which is merely an illusion. Touch it and be surprised: the wood is soft and merely the effect of a super realistic digital photo print. Beneath the cover is no-distortion, different density foam, while the frame is in real wood and the legs are in pine plywood with adjustable height glides. Front started in 2003 by a design group of four. All members are involved in the design process from initial discussions and ideas to final product. Their works are based on common discussions, exploring and investigations about different topics. And the final products often communicate a story to the observer about the design process, conventions within the product field or the material it is made of. The Soft Wood Sofa features stress-resistant polyurethane foam in varied densities and polyester fiberfill on a hardwood frame. The feet and exposed frame are laminate on wood with adjustable-height glides. Available only in Trevira® fabric with inkjet-printed wood grain pattern. Cover is not removable. 76.5" W | 33.75" d | 33.5" h | seat: 17.25" h | 22" d.

    Moroso Rift Composition Sofa
Design Patricia Urquiola, 2009. Polyurethane foam, hardwood frame, polypropylene glides. Made in Italy by Moroso. Rift, to borrow the geological term for crack or fissure, is a seating system which cuts across the contemporary domestic living space. Unlike modular systems which are based on the rational use of geometry, Rift is built around an unexpected and asymmetric positioning of different volumes, an intentional randomness inspired by the unpredictability of nature. Multiple layers form relaxed seating, designed for the individual yet perfect for the public places: like tectonic plates, the different layers tend to collide and overlap giving a highly original impression of movement , transforming even the most formal space into something fluid yet without ever altering its character. Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. Vitra Alcove Love Seat
Design Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2008. Chromed steel, metal, polyurethane foam, polyester, wool and upholstery. Made in Germany by Vitra. A sofa can go beyond being merely a piece of furniture and become a room of its own within a room - this was the idea that prompted Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design the Alcove Sofa. With its soft seat and backrest upholstery, as well as the high, flexible side and back panels, Alcove Sofa creates the frame for a comfy, safe and secure world, a place for relaxed withdrawal from the hustle and bustle of life. Yet, Alcove Sofa is also a meeting place and point of communication: In the larger version two people can sit opposite each other, relaxing back against the side walls. As two- or three-seaters, the Alcove Sofa fits interiors of different sizes. Moreover, the Alcove Love Seat offers the advantages of the Alcove Sofa but for a smaller footprint. The Alcove Ottoman is a comfortable complement. The two brothers, Ronan and Erwan, have been working together since 1999. Their collaboration is a constant dialogue, nourished by their single identities and strived towards a common goal. Today, the Bouroullec brothers work with numerous manufacturers such as Vitra, Cappellini, Issey Miyake, Magis, Ligne Roset, Habitat and the Kréo Gallery. They were named "Creator of the Year" in 2002, elected "designer of the year" in 2003 and have won multiple other awards. Their creations have been exhibited in many collective or solo exhibitions and are part of some permanent museum collections around the world. The Alcove love seat includes two matching backrest cusions. Optional set of 2 armrest & 2 small backrest cushions also available. 37" H | 33" w | 49.75" L.

    Moroso Lowland 2-Seater Sofa Major
Design Patricia Urquiola, 2000. Hardwood frame, polyurethane foam, stainless steel feet. Made in Italy by Moroso. Patricia Urquiola's Lowland collection may be defined as a geoform, it recalls the large stepping stones of a river joint together by an imaginative path that takes you safely to the other side. A series of upholstered objects meant for interiors featuring a very strong influence of design. A product for contemporary interiors where the traditional concepts of constituting elements have been willingly ignored. The collection proposes simple and essential elements such as the seat, back and arm rests; the seats are elementary shapes; the back completes or rejoins the elements and the arm rests are strong and impressive elements that are placed on the floor and bend upwards towards the seat. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of. Starting with the Lowland collection and maintaining the same genetic code of movement and possible verticality, though introducing a morphological variant, Patricia Urquiola has designed an element for relaxation. They were named ?"Creator of the Year" in 2002, elected ?"designer of the year" in 2003 and have won multiple other awards. Their creations have been exhibited in many collective or solo exhibitions and are part of some permanent museum collections around the world. The Alcove two-seater sofa includes two matching backrest cusions. Optional set of 2 armrest & 2 small backrest cushions also available. 37" H | 33" w | 64.5" L.

Vitra Place Sofa - 3 Seater
Design Jasper Morrison, 2008. Metal frame, wood structure, polyurethane foam. Made in Germany by Vitra. Place sofa is Jasper Morrison's interpretation of what is now a modern classic sofa type. A low lounge sofa with a decidedly horizontal thrust. With carefully chosen proportions, much comfort and no decorative frills, Place sofa offers the key features in the purest of condensed form. Voluminous, slightly rounded cushions with soft fabric or leather covers invite you to lounge on Place sofa, and the high-grade inner workings ensure enduring comfortable seating. Thanks to its modular structure, the Place sofa's shape can be defined personally and changed at any time. With Place sofa, Jasper Morrison has successfully coupled the typical informal feel of this type of sofa with highly precise finishing and great expressive clarity, and thus renewed the typology firmly in line with his philosophy of supernormal design. Born in London, Jasper Morrison studied design at the Royal College of Art and at the HdK in Berlin. Editor of the Design Year Book in 1999 with a passion for the history of design. Morrison's objects provide a quiet contrast to the creative exuberance of the Eighties. The visual restraint, high functionalism and constructive simplicity attract attention to his work. Vitra Polder Sofa
Design Hella Jongerius, 2005. Wooden frame, upholstery, natural buttons. Made in Germany by Vitra. With the quiet irony typical for her work, Hella Jongerius named her new sofa for Vitra, Polder. In Holland, Polder refers to the artificial land reclaimed from the sea by means of dykes and drainage canals. The body of the Polder sofa is just as low-lying, just as flat, and has just as much emphasis on the horizontal as does the Dutch landscape. For it, Hella Jongerius chose five carefully selected combinations of colors and fabric qualities, accentuating them with high-tech threads and large buttons. This play with colours and textures underscores the asymmetry of the piece, and together with the large buttons decorating the cushions are unmistakable trademarks of the Polder Sofa. Made of natural materials like bone and mother of pearl, the buttons are sewn to the cushions with bold broad cross stitches. Through the selection of the threads, Hella Jongerius creates a contrast of colours that further enhances the distinctiveness of this design feature. The Polder sofa is available in your choice of two sizes and fabric colors. You can also pick the postition of the armrest. When facing the sofa the armrest can be placed on the left or the right side. XS: 89" L | 30.75" h | 39.25" d | seat: 16" h. XL: 115.25" L | 30.75" h | 39.25" d |seat: 16" h.

    Moroso Principessa Daybed
Design Doshi & Levien, 2008. Solid lacquered beech, polyurethane foam, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien have this to say about their new design: "We designed a new daybed, called Princess, with layers of mattresses. The top mattress is covered with a composition of different objects and since they draw inspiration from a modern princess they're embroidered in gold and silver". The Princess version, so called for the Princess and the Pea fairytale, has 6 or 11 mattresses one of top of the other with various colored edges. Nipa Doshi was born in 1971 into a Gujarati family of Mumbai. She graduated from the Royal College of Art, London and soon returned to India to work with local craftspeople. After a short stay she went back to London where she met Jonathan Levien, a Scot who had recently finished his master's in furniture design at the Royal College. The combination of the two cultures and creativities generated a very special, innovative design concept. Design Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2008. Chromed steel, metal frame, fiberglass reinforced plastic, polyurethane foam, polyester wool. Made in Germany by Vitra. The central idea behind the Alcove sofa is that a sofa can be much more than just a piece of furniture. This is especially true of the Alcove Highback sofa, whose side and back panels tower over the heads of those sitting in it. Sitting within the Alcove Highback, you cannot be seen or heard from the outside, and find yourself in a secluded space. Thanks to the outstanding acoustic qualities of the Alcove Highback sofa and its function as a visual screen, it creates a truly peaceful oasis - especially in spacious living areas. This effect is even more pronounced when two sofas are positioned face to face, thereby defining a room within a room. They were named ?"Creator of the Year" in 2002, elected ?"designer of the year" in 2003 and have won multiple other awards. A sofa can go beyond being merely a piece of furniture and become a room of its own within a room - this was the idea that prompted Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design the Alcove Sofa. With its unusually soft seat and backrest upholstery, as well as the high, flexible side and back panels, Alcove Sofa creates the frame for a comfy, safe and secure world, a place for relaxed withdrawal from the hustle and bustle of life: Two people can stretch out and sit opposite each other, leaning leisurely back against the side walls, and if required the sofa also provide sufficient space for a third person. Alcove Sofa combines the contrasting qualities of a comfortable secluded relaxation area with an open invitation to enter and sit down. Design Jaime Hayon. Frame, foam, upholstery. Made in USA by Bernhardt Design. Brigitte Bardot! The mere mention of her name still unleashes a million fantasies. A half-century after her debut, Bardot resurfaces through the imagination of Spanish design star Jaime Hayon as a curvaceous and alluring seating ensemble. Inspired by the feminine silhouette, Hayon wanted the sofa to "feel like a fruit, tender to the touch," while at the same time be extremely durable "like combining the lightness and strength of a ballerina." Jaime Hayon is one of a revolutionary breed of designer and artist, who not only blurs the lines between art and design, but also questions what design actually is by pushing the boundaries of his materials. Born in 1974 in Madrid, Spain, he embodies a new type of creative renaissance man who, thanks to his inter-disciplinary approach and extraordinary talent, realizes his unique stylistic language across various areas and media. His work coherently brings together diametrical opposites such as opulence and practicality, sensuality and precision as well as finesse and restraint. Using a hybrid of industrial design disciplines, craft expertise and new technology, his whimsical creations come as a breath of fresh air after a decade of monotonous minimalism. Montis Gino 3.5-Seat Sofa
Design Geert Koster, 2012. Shaped wood forms, foam, dacron, upholstery. Made in Holland by Montis. The point of origin for the Gino couch was to create a comfortable and inviting element, which the user can personalize. The basic idea for this is a scale that creates space with a strong contrast between external and internal. The external body has a light, floating contemporary form that creates an inviting internal space which can be decorated in a formal or informal way by the 'resident'. This in-outside contrast of Gino gives the flexibility to play with a mixture of different materials and color combinations through which every implementation gets a personal and timeless character. Due to the fancy form that sticks out of it's back, Gino lends itself well to be placed in open spaces. Gino is a timeless design product with a cute back, "beauty at the back". Inviting, casual with charm, individual with Italian flair. Gino features an aluminum base with rubber feet underneath. It is offered in your choice of three sizes and can be upholstered in a variety of fabric or leathers. Gino sofas can also be specified with different upholstery on the inside & surround (please call for details). 3-Seater: 91.3" w | 37" d | 29.1" h | seat: 16.5" h. 3.5-Seater: 102.4" w | 37" d | 29.1" h | seat: 16.5" h. 4-Seater: 113.4" w | 37" d | 29.1" h | seat: 16.5" h. 3.

    Bernhardt Design Bardot Sofa
Bardot is offered as a lounge chair, loveseat or sofa. The collection is level 1 and greenguard certified. Sofa: 87" w | 34.4" d | 30" h | seat: 17" h | arms: 22.6" h.

Design Mark Goetz. Molded veneer, upholstery, metal legs. Made by Herman Miller® "I try to give things a reserved, quiet expression so they're appropriate in a variety of environments, but I also try to make interesting forms that people really like -something fresh and new." -Mark Goetz. Molded plywood carries an immediate association with classic Herman Miller designs, and Mark Goetz skillfully and creatively incorporates this material in his sofa design. While traditional construction consists of a wooden frame with padding and upholstery applied over it, the Goetz™ sofa turns tradition inside out, since its plywood shell is clearly visible as both an aesthetic element and a structural frame. The sofa's practicality extends to one of its most important features--comfort. Goetz conducted his own research and consulted with other experts to arrive at a seat depth that gives ergonomic support as well as room to lie down. By using common materials and processes in innovative ways, designer Mark Goetz achieves a clean, crisp aesthetic. The Goetz complements contemporary, informal lifestyles while echoing Herman Miller's classic heritage. The Goetz sofa features a dramatic profile with molded veneer which wraps completely around the sides and back with polished cast aluminum legs. The frame finishes include walnut, white ash, natural cherry or ebony veneers. The upholstery is available in your choice of a wide range of fabrics and leathers. 84" W | 31" d | 32" h | seat: 17.5" h.

Design George Nelson™ & Irving Harper, 1956. Metal frame, upholstery. Made by Herman Miller® "The single common element in all man-made things is that they are designed." -George Nelson. When the Marshmallow sofa was introduced in 1956, the Herman Miller catalog described it as "The first of a series of pieces embodying a new concept in soft seating. We feel that it has possible use not only in the home, but in contract use for lobbies in public buildings where the very fact that it is unusual will be a plus." The catalog also said, "Despite its astonishing appearance, this piece is very comfortable." Herman Miller founder D.J. DePree saw an article in a 1945 Life magazine featuring George Nelson's Storagewall unit, which was causing a sensation in the furniture industry. He was so impressed that he paid a visit to Nelson in New York and convinced him to be his director of design, which spurred Nelson to found his design firm, George Nelson & Associates. The warm personal and professional relationship between Nelson and DePree yielded a stunning range of products, from the playful Marshmallow Sofa to the first L-shaped desk, a precursor of today's workstation. The playful Marshmallow sofa is a landmark of modern design that's still turning heads and making people smile. The Edward sofa is an update of the BENSEN Ed sofa and utilizes a number of new production techniques for improved comfort and a more refined profile. The name Edward is a reference to American mid century designer Edward Wormley whose designs have remained highly influential in the design community. Edward combines the use of several down-filled back cushions with a single seat cushion to give it an informal and relaxed appearance. The buttoned seat cushion alludes to the Edward's mid century roots, yet its proportions and comfort are decidedly contemporary. The backrest and arms are appropriately scaled to give excellent back support without appearing oversized and heavy, while the down-filled back cushions conform to give superb comfort. The sofa's frame is constructed with a durable steel frame featuring an elastic webbing suspension system adapted from the automotive industry with CNC precision cut foam used for the arms and back to give superior comfort and a tailored appearance. The imported European seat and down back cushions have been carefully selected for durability, firmness and comfort. Seat cushions are made of CFC-free polyurethane, softened by a continuous soft fiber wrap. Back cushions are baffled for even distribution of feathers and batting and to prevent shifting, thereby providing better lumbar support. Edward is available in three sizes, and can be specified in either fabric or leather, or in fabric with a leather seat (please call for details). Legs are finished with a dark Bronzatto finish, and are removable. All covers are slip-covered. Cushions are included as indicated in the line drawing. Additional cushions can be ordered separately. Fritz Hansen Favn Sofa
Design Jaime Hayon, 2011. Polyurethane, steel, aluminum. Made in Denmark by Fritz Hansen. "I wanted the sofa to be based on a shell. A shell, being hard on the outside, soft and welcoming on the inside. Protective and warm." -Jaime Hayon. FAVN™, the Danish translation for embrace, is designed with great attention to detail and consists of only a few elements. "I wanted to create a form that embraces you, something really organic, that's why we named it FAVN", says Jaime Hayón. It is an evolution of Fritz Hansen's design language that brings together the qualities of Spanish and Danish design. The work of the artist-designer is characterized by his respect for colors, craftsmanship and techniques. Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. As a teenager, he submerged himself in skateboard culture and graffiti art, the foundation of the detailed, bold-yet-whimsical imagery so imminent in his work today. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris he joined Fabrica in 1997, working closely with the legendary image-maker and agitator Oliviero Toscani. In a short time he was promoted from student to head of their Design Department. Eight years later, Jaime broke out on his own, first with his collections of designer toys, ceramics and furniture, later followed by interior design and installations. His work has appeared in art and design publications worldwide and he has won numerous awards. As the sofa has no edges - it is round and soft. The large rounded shell rests on the small, but elegant legs while the seat and back together with the decorative cushions combined with the use of three textures, makes up the strong visual layers. The sofa comes in nine unique and different designer selections with a mix of three fabrics and is also available as a single fabric version in a variety of different options. 87" W | 36.6" d | 34.6" h | seat: 16.5" h | arm: 23.6" h.
