The folding cover Fida was designed by Patrick Frey for Vial. Fida is a modern concept for a mobile, comfortable sitting. Through a determinate folding, the cover becomes a comfortable sitting possibility with backrest. Fida consists of weatherproof Codura®, it is water resistant and can be positioned in the inside as well as outsides without any problems. If the cover gets dirty it can be carefully cleaned with standard housekeeping products or slightly brushed down. And this is how the Fida folding cover works: initially two edges of one shorter side are folded backwards and afterwards connected with the metallic closure. Reinforced with a metal feather in the outer border an upright standing triangle that can be used as a backrest emerges. In the year 2011 Fida was honoured with the iF Design Award.

There are interesting themes, but that’s not the reason not to think about the re-design of a toilet paper holder. The Squirrel is a paper dispenser with the design of a wooden log. The designer’s piece by Qualy has the ideal size to take one toilet paper toll. This is how the paper will come directly out of its natural surrounding – a wooden log – and it firstly charms the eye and then the bump. The small squirrel on it is thereby responsible to pull the tissue off at the right time. Since Qualy made the tissue dispenser out of robust ABS plastic, the small bathroom helper is very easy to clean. And since it doesn’t look like a conventional toilet paper holder, Squirrel might be used as paper dispenser wherever you like.
