Gabriele Colangelo launched his eponymous Milanese label in 2008 after beginning his design career at both Versace and Roberto Cavalli. Seven years later, the brand is highly esteemed and celebrated for its attention to craftsmanship and focus on textile exploration. Colangelo proposes architectural inspired silhouette teamed with artistically considered fabrication, effortless tailoring and drapery exist simultaneously to create a body conscious, laid back feel. Deconstruction and lightness are a focus for Spring 2015, encompassing elements of evening and sportswear. Exquisite lace emerges coated in plastic; dresses are woven in iridescent fine copper wire. This experimentalism is also evident in shape and cut, skin is exposed through dramatic slicing which give garments a strong athleticism. The collection addresses a palette of blue and orange, dark navy takes the form of laser-cut pinstripe tailoring, contrasted with vivid mandarin pony skin. A combination of minimalist considered pieces teamed with futuristic, innovative textiles create an easy to wear, forward-thinking finish.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli designed two separate resort collections this season. First the house's signature romantic dresses in intricate lace and ruffled chiffon, taking inspiration from Frida Kahlo the collection offered Mexican sensibility and beauty. Both embroidery and print feature florals, animals and birds a long with the rich attention to detail that continues the legacy of Valentino. In contrast, the second half of the collection featured eye-popping graphic patterns in a rainbow of colours inspired by an archival Valentino print from 1973. In blocks, stripes and zig zags it is re-imagined into accessories and clothing alike, completing the effortlessly luxurious collection.
