"I designed the Petal Table to accompany the Bertoia Chairs that Harry Bertoia designed for Knoll. The tops on these tables are made of eight petals, which are mounted on a beautifully crafted cast aluminum spider. Design Konstantin Grcic, 2011. Powder-coated steel, polyurethane, neoprene, plastic. Made in Germany by Vitra. The Waver armchair is the first collaborative project between Vitra and Konstantin Grcic. Waver embodies a new aesthetic, incorporating materials and construction principles from the outdoor sports that inspired the design. The idea behind Waver was to deliberately not use a conventional armchair typology. Though its technical construction is simple, Waver offers the very comfortable seating one generally associates with classic upholstered furniture. The energetic colorfulness of the fabrics and the clearly emphasised connecting and functional elements give Waver its sporty look and feel. Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England he studied design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990. Konstantin Grcic creates industrial products widely described as pared down, simple, minimalist. What sets him apart from the minimalism in fashionable currency today is that he defines function in human terms, combining maximum formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humor. Despite its simple construction comprising just one layer of fabric, Waver, in combination with the neck cushion (included), offers a high level of seating comfort. This is further enhanced by its swivel chair function and its large cantilever frame, which allow great freedom of movement. Waver not only complements your living room as a cosy reading or television chair, thanks to its waterproof materials, it is also suitable for use in the garden or on the patio. 30.75" w | 34.25" d | 38.75" h | seat: 18.5" h.

The George Nelson tables reflect the clean lines and pleasing balance of style and function that characterize all his furniture creations. The Nelson Pedestal Table Outdoor has been updated with hardy materials that will stand up to the elements. They offer an auxiliary surface to complement any grouping of outdoor furniture. Stones are sourced from four North American quarries and are named after their home state: Georgia White Marble, a luminescent stone from the same source that was used to create Daniel Chester French's 1920 sculpture of Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial; Georgia Grey Marble, a cloudy grey stone from the same location used in the 2004 renovation of New York's Museum of Modern Art; Wisconsin Black Marble, a unique dark stone speckled with lustrous green and grey veins; and Quebec Graphite Granite, a subtly patterned granite composed of deep hues used to rich effect in Chicago's John Hancock Center. Once extracted, two centimeter-thick slabs of stone are cut to order with a knife edge derived from Nelson's original design and given an eggshell-like honed finish. Tops and bases are connected with a bolt that runs the length of the column to ensure strength and durability through years of use. "The underside of typical chairs and tables makes a confusing, unrestful world," explained Saarinen. "I wanted to clear up the slum of legs." In his pedestal collection, which includes a dining, coffee and side table, Saarinen realized his ideal of formal unity: "Every significant piece of furniture has a holistic structure." Winner of the 1969 Museum of Modern Art Award. Construction notes: Base is constructed from molded heavy cast aluminum polished and coated in tough, abrasion-resistant rilsan finish (black & white). Engineered Vetro Bianco top is offered in .75" thick with a beveled edge. It is bright white, nonporous and more compact than most granites. Comprised of 93% fused quartz. It does not yellow or stain and is scratch resistant. Suitable for outdoors. 28.25" h | top: 42.25" dia. | base: 20" dia.

    Knoll Schultz Petal Coffee Table
Design Richard Schultz, 1960. Aluminum, Steel, HPDE or Teak. Made in USA by Knoll. "The Petal table is a flower that is always in bloom." - Richard Schultz. "I designed the Petal Table to accompany the Bertoia Chairs that Harry Bertoia designed for Knoll. The tops on these tables are made of eight petals, which are mounted on a beautifully crafted cast aluminum spider. I was inspired by Queen Anne's Lace, a weed that grows near our house in Pennsylvania. Each cluster of flowers is supported on its own stem. By making a table in this manner there is no need for a ring support, and each petal is independent which allows the table to expand and contract with the weather." The tables were introduced by Knoll in Los Angeles in 1960 and were immediately made part of the MoMA Design Collection. After 20 years, Knoll and Richard Schultz are together again, offering a comprehensive collection of durable, modern, and iconic outdoor furniture. Richard Schultz is no stranger to Knoll. He previously worked with Harry Bertoia during the development of Bertoia's wire chairs and later designed the Petal Collection to accompany the Diamond Chair. In 1992, Richard Schultz began his own furniture manufacturing and design company, where he and his son, Peter, have been able to build an impressive line of outdoor furniture collections including Topiary, Swell, and Mateo. Now, after 20 years, Knoll and Richard Schultz are together again, providing distinctive modern outdoor furniture. The Petal collection features an aluminum and stainless steel base and stem powder-coated in a variety of colors. The top petals are offered in either white machined HPDE (High Density Polyurethane) or vertically grained Teak with a natural finish. The collection is completed by the dining and side tables. Suitable for the outdoors. Optional grey vinyl cover is also available. 15" h | 42" dia.

Design George Nelson™, 1954. Stone top, four-star metal base. Made by Herman Miller® "The simple joy of taking an idea into one's own hands and giving it proper form, that's exciting." -George Nelson. Two heights, two diameters of North American stone tops and two base finish options enable the selection of the right table, or tables, to suit any open-air arrangement. Also offered with a 17" dia. Foscarini Solar - Outdoor
Design Luca Nicheto, 2011. Polyethylene, textured material. Made in Italy by Foscarini. A poetic and relaxing glow, delimited by the terrestrial curve and framed by nature: this is what inspired solar. Its soft luminosity recalls that of the sun at dawn or at dusk, its hemispherical shape recalls the celestial vault, whereas the round resting surface recalls an eclipse. Not just a new lamp, but a new type of object, a contemporary hearth around which to gather and chat, at home or outside. The two versions of solar differ in certain significant details, depending on the setting they are intended for. In the indoor model, the resting surface is slightly concave, with its edges just slightly raised. The outdoor version instead has a straight resting surface that is flush with the outer edge, to allow the rain to just slip away. The surface finishes are also different: glossy white or dark wood for the indoor version, steel with a characteristic textured effect for the outdoor version. Solar is not only versatile in the settings it blends in with, but also in the fact it can be given different positions and provide different types of lighting. The hemispherical body, made of waterproof and unbreakable polyethylene, is perfectly stable, even when it is tilted by 15°. The angling determines the quantity of light diffused, allowing multiple effects and atmospheres to be created. A bright, warm and intimate center of attraction, Solar is ideal for scenic compositions, such as a large hall or in the garden, to create suggestive light paths. 31.25" dia. | 10.25" h | 15º tilt | requires 1x25W E26 compact fluorescent.
