• Ralph Lauren Home Lansbury Throw Pillow
Ralph Lauren Home Lansbury Throw Pillow
Inspired by the Daphne cardigan from the Fall 2012 Women's Runway collection, this intricate throw pillow is designed with gold sequins that are embroidered onto black mesh to create the illusion of a cable-knit pattern. Pillow is crafted using an armor technique, which is a time-consuming process that involves embroidering a row of beads and then leaning sequins on either end, overlapping them to create a raised, dimensional effect. 20" L x 20" W. 65% rayon. 35% silk. Spot clean. Made in India.
  • Verpan Fun 5DA Light
    Verpan Fun 5DA Light
Verner Panton’s Fun series reaches its zenith with the 5DA. Designed by the prolific Dane in 1964, this elegant and sophisticated chandelier comprises two individual lamps linked by separate lengths of fine steel chain all suspended from a white wooden ceiling plate. The resultant unit comprises two sources of light, each of which reinforces the other’s natural convection effect, causing the cascading metal discs shading the warm bulbs to gently oscillate, tinkling against one another, simultaneously emanating scintillating pulses of luminescence – much like the disco ball and sequined dress which inspired the entire Fun series. Never out of production, Verpan’s Fun 5DA light is a classic Pop Art design and very much back in vogue. Almost fifty years old, it remains futuristic. It achieved classic status in the late nineteen nineties and it was part of a major retrospective of the designer’s work in his native Denmark in 1998. Sadly, Panton died only days before the exhibition opened. The Fun 5DA is a lighting designer’s dream and an iconic centre-piece in any larger room. It has a powerful and prestigious presence that packs an even bigger punch than its price – ensuring it remains truly collectable. It can be found in class casinos, hip hotels and Manhattan’s MoMA. Dimensions: Diameter: 56 cm. Height: 180 cm. Bulbs: 2 X E27 (E26) max. 100W.
  • Verpan Fun 1WA Wall Light
    Verpan Fun 1WA Wall Light
Sexy sequined dress meets disco ball - the Fun series of lamps are the brainchild of Verner Panton , Denmark’s designer infant terrible. Panton’s radical, revolutionary products epitomised the sixties – this one is from 1964 – but they have never gone out of production and have recently acquired “classic” status, enjoying a corresponding popularity amongst more discerning collectors. The Verpan Fun 1WA is the wall lamp version of this matching series. Like its siblings it works by harnessing the natural convection energy created by the warm bulb – which is entirely obscured by the lamp – so that the ribbons of chain linked metal discs cascading around it scintillate with pulses of light as they oscillate. The effect is as captivating as fireworks in the night sky; and it is accompanied by a gentle, relaxing sound as the discs brush against one another. Classic designs spawn cheap imitations – and the Fun series is no exception. Using thin Nylon wire to join flimsy plastic discs, they hang poorly and require constant disentangling: don’t waste your money. An investment in the real thing can provide a lifetime of sterling service and still fetch a small fortune at auction for your benefactors. Dimensions: Diameter: 40 cm. Height: 58 cm. Depth: 22 cm. Cord: 220 cm.
  • Verpan Fun 1 DA Pendant Light
Verpan Fun 1 DA Pendant Light
A triumph of Pop Art, the coveted Verpan Fun series of lamps caused a furore when the prototype was first exhibited at the Cologne Furniture Fair. Designed by Denmark’s legendary Verner Panton in 1964 this beautiful and revolutionary pendant lamp ingeniously marries the sequin dress with a disco ball. Draped with cascading metal discs linked by metal rings and sequenced with varying lengths of chain, the Fun 1DA utilises the natural flow of air drawn up by the warm bulb to gently oscillate the linked metal discs, which then scintillate with light and gently tinkle as they touch. Not to be confused with the host of inferior imitations they have spawned, the Fun series of lamps are constructed by craftsmen from top quality materials. This lamp comprises a three ringed structure mounted on a chrome ceiling canopy, suspended from a tasteful black fabric cord. Although this classic design has never gone away, it recently re-emerged centre-stage after being photographed in designer Peter Saville’s Mayfair apartment. Playful, optimistic, exotic – and fun with a capital F – it is beautiful, useful and increasingly collectable. Dimensions: Diameter: 45 cm. Height: 60 cm. Cord: 400 cm. Bulb: E27 E26) max. 75W.
