  • Thursday Tip-Off Summer Scents
    More info
Our Thursday Tip-Off series is a weekly set of tips, suggestions, and tricks for making you a better-informed person. You're welcome. Whether you’re more drawn to fruity or woodsy scents, we’ve got your bases covered with our guide to our most popular floral-based fragrances. Explore our favorite scents below and find out a little bit more about which notes make them special and which ones will work best for you. Classic Classic scents tend to rely on classic floral undertones (hence the name). If you love scents that evoke memories of a summer day and light florals, and your go-to outfit includes worn-in jeans and a red lip, then a classic scent is probably your best best. These wear well and are some of the more universally pleasing scents. Traditional floral notes include jasmine, gardenia, freesia, lily, rose and vanilla. Woodsy Woodsy scents are best for someone who's looking for something a little darker than the classic floral scent. Woodsy scents tend to be a little heavier than citrus or floral scents (think: earthy), and can be described as nutty or musky. While they still rely on floral notes, their bases tend to be something heavier than a lighter floral. Frequent base notes used in woodsy scents are sandalwood, patchouli, and various spices. Citrusy Fresh citrus-based scents are generally very light and can be somewhat spicy (but much less so than any woodsy scents). They can feel very summery, and are usually a good daytime perfume. They may not be as long-lasting as a deep musk, so these scents are especially good in body oils and body splashes. The main bases used in citrus-based scents are notes of oranges, lemons, mandarin, grapefruit, and other citrus oils. Shop Fragrances
