  • Vitra Hal Tube Stackable Side Chair
    SOLD OUT: More info
Design Jasper Morrison, 2010. Polypropylene, chromed tubular steel. Made in Germany by Vitra. With HAL, Jasper Morrison has created a reinterpretation of the multifunctional shell chair and a varied chair range with a distinctly contemporary appearance. The shape of HAL's shell ensures plenty of freedom of movement and the slightly flexible plastic makes many different sitting positions possible - even sideways and astride the chair. Because of this, HAL facilitates dynamic, ergonomic seating. The selection of bases, shell colors and fabric covers opens up a wide range of choices. HAL can be used in all kinds of environments - in the office, as well as in public spaces and in the home. Combining the chair with the matching HAL Table, which was developed at the same time, is also an option. Born in London, Jasper Morrison studied design at the Royal College of Art and at the HdK in Berlin. Editor of the Design Year Book in 1999 with a passion for the history of design. Morrison's objects provide a quiet contrast to the creative exuberance of the Eighties. The visual restraint, high functionalism and constructive simplicity attract attention to his work. Seat covers are offered in Plano fabric (100% polyester) in six colors. Glide color (white or basic dark) will match the small parts for attaching the seat shell. 31" h | 18.5" w | 19.25" d | seat: 17" h.

  • Vitra - Organic Conference Chair
    SOLD OUT: More info
The Organic Conference is a classic piece of furniture, which isn’t really a classic: The chair by the design legends Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen couldn’t be produced in series because of a lack of technique in the 1940s. It was vitalized by Vitra in 2006 for the first time. Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen created a complete series of Oranic Chairs in different editions for the competition “Organic Design in Home Furnishing” of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1941. The designs were futuristic formally, but they weren’t produced because of a lack of technique then. The organic seat could only be produced and distributed in bigger amounts later, so were the Eames Plastic Chair by Charles & Ray Eames or the Tulip Chair by Eero Saarinen. Vitra and the Vitra Design Museum vitalized the classic piece in 2006 with the first serial production of the Organic Chair, the Organic Highback with high backrest and headrest followed in 2008. The shape of the seats of the Organic Chairs is adapted to the seat demands of the human body. The user sits in a lower, slightly backwards inclined position in the reading chairs Organic Chair and Organic Highback, while the Organic Conference is slightly higher and more upright, supporting sitting at a table. The organic shape of and the comfortable cushions ensure exceptional sitting comfort. Vitra produces the Organic Chairs out of ash wood with polyurethane foam cushions. The sophisticated coating with the Hopsack fabric by Kvadrat ensurea robustness and longevity to the Organic Conference Chair – also in a stressing office routine.

  • Herman Miller® Eames Molded Dining Chair Dcw
    SOLD OUT: More info
Design Charles & Ray Eames®, 1946. Molded plywood, metal or wood legs. Made by Herman Miller® "Who would say that pleasure is not useful?" -Charles Eames. Designers Charles and Ray Eames established their long and legendary relationship with Herman Miller in 1946 with the boldly original molded plywood dining and lounge chairs. Designed to comfortably fit the body, the sculpted form of the molded plywood chairs are produced using thin sheets of lightweight veneer gently molded into curved shapes with natural rubber shock mounts to absorb movement. Since then, the chairs' aesthetic integrity, enduring charm, and comfort have earned it recognition as the best of modern design. Available in either a lounge or dining versions with chrome-plated steel or wood legs. In the early 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames experimented with wood-molding techniques that would have profound effects on the design world. Their discoveries led to a commission from the U.S. Navy in 1942 to develop plywood splints, stretchers, and glider shells molded under heat and pressure. After World War II, they adapted the technology to create high-quality chairs that could be mass-produced. The process eliminated extraneous wood, which reduced the weight and visual profile of the chair and established a basis for modern furniture design. A truly comfortable chair that's suitable for businesses and homes. The chair is in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art. Time magazine named it the Best Design of the 20th Century. With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look." The chairs are offered in your choice of santos palisander, natural cherry, walnut, white or light ash or two colors which allow the wood's natural characteristics to show through. Santos palisander is a lustrous veneer that has the same characteristics as the original rosewood, color and grain. 19.4" w | 21.75" d | 28.75" h | seat: 18" h.
