The set includes: - 'The Lone Ranger and the Mystery Ranch' (1938) illustrated - 'The Yearling' by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (1938), illustrated (Pulitzer Prize winner) - 'The Adventures of Pinocchio' by C. Collodi (1946), illustrated Junior Library - 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' by Mark Twain (1948) illustrated Junior Library - 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' by Mark Twain (1946) illustrated Junior Library - '100 Fathoms Under' by John Blaine, (1947), a Rick Brant Electronic Adventure - 'Tom Swift and His Rocket Ship' by Victor Appleton II,, 1954, illustrated. 'The Yearling' (with original dust jacket) is the most valuable book in this set, but the great illustrations and timeless stories of all are priceless. 'Tom Sawyer' is a reprint (1992) of the 1946 edition, but the other five books are presumably first printings of the Grosset & Dunlap editions. Covers are generally worn - some more than others ('Pinnochio' and 'Huckleberry Finn' with bumped corners & fade). The 'Yearling' dust jacket also is worn along the edges, but intact. There's an owner name and inscription inside 'The Lone Ranger' book. This set is an amazing accessory for a child's room. From Mark Twain to 'Pinnochio' and 'The Yearling' to trips back to the future with Tom Swift and Rick Brant, these books also are classic reads!

    More info
Glenn Arthur is a self-taught visual artist from Orange County, California. Born in February of 1979, he grew up in a conservative, religious household with little to no influence in art. After shedding his roots he quickly realized that creating art would be his calling. Although he constantly doodled and sketched throughout his youth, Glenn did not come into painting until his late twenties when a friend forced a paintbrush into his hand and said, “You need to do this!” Since then Glenn has been diligently working on creating his own brand of beautifully painted images. Using all different types of media, he adds in elements and influential symbols of his past and present to each piece. Beyond the aesthetics of his artwork, Glenn brings an overwhelming sense of passion to his paintings. Touching on themes of love, death, conflict and duality, Glenn’s art tells stories of strength and hope through emotion and sentiment with his sensual beauties and signature hummingbirds. Glenn’s artwork has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States in solo as well as group shows. His work has been published in several art books and magazines and he currently works as the master of ceremonies for Dr. Sketchy’s Anaheim Chapter.

  • Taschen Mini Book of Palms
On December 15, 1868, Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius (1794–1868), Professor of Botany at the University of Munich and director of the Royal Botanic Garden, was carried to his grave in a coffin covered with fresh palm leaves. The fronds were a reference to his groundbreaking Natural History of Palms: a work in three volumes, published between 1823–1853.Martius created an unrivalled catalog of all known genera of the palm family, outlining the modern classification of palms, describing all the palms of Brazil, and producing the first maps of palm biogeography. Martius’s folio is unusual in its inclusion of cross-sectioned diagrams, conveying the architecture of these mighty trees, which central Europeans would have found hard to imagine accurately. Equally remarkable are the color landscapes showing various palms—often standing alone in simple and elegant beauty. This miniature version of the encyclopaedic treasury contains 240 exquisite chromolithographic illustrations based on Martius’s expeditions through Brazil and Peru. H. Walter Lack is a Professor at the Free University of Berlin and former Director of the Botanical Gardens and Botanical Museum in Berlin-Dahlem. A leading expert in the history of botany, his research focuses on the global transfer of useful and ornamental plants from a cultural historical perspective. He is the author of TASCHEN’s The Book of Palms. Author: H. Walter LackHardcover, 5.5 x 7.7 in568 pagesMultilingual Edition: English, French, German.
