This year sees Rei Kawakubo's 70th birthday-proof that creative freshness does not decline with the passing years. Her latest collection is entirely two-dimensional and resplendent with vivacity and wit. The felt and oilskin silhouettes have roundly-stated XXL lines. The coats, capes, dresses and trousers display ultra-graphic outsize prints: polka dots, flowers and camouflage. A piece of joyful artwork reminding of paper cut-out dollies to dress.
