  • English Classics Furniture Handmade English Walnut Credenza
    english-classics.net
Designed in a classic Georgian style, this beautiful burl walnut credenza offers a glamorous combination of period design and modern functionality. A variety of drawers and a central cabinet contain plenty of storage, while the quality construction ensures that this piece will last for many years to come. In total, this credenza contains five standard drawers, two file drawers that fit legal-sized and letter-sized files, and a central two-door cabinet. All of these individual compartments lock with a set of antique style skeleton keys. Such a piece can store a great many items and files as a modern storage solution. As beautiful as it is functional, this burl walnut credenza has been hand-crafted with the utmost faith to traditional design. The wood has been treated to an elaborate finishing process, beginning with distressing the surfaces and staining them. Next, several coats of lacquer were applied, followed by a thorough polish of hand-rubbed paste wax. This last step protects the wood while it also makes it look even more beautiful. Finally, the top and drawers are adorned with walnut crossbanding to accent the stunning burl walnut, while the drawers all feature traditional solid brass swan neck pulls–a favorite in Georgian and Victorian period furniture. The third-generation cabinetmaker who crafted this credenza did not just stop at beauty and functionality. It is also an extremely well-made, sturdy, and durable piece. The underlying structure is made of thick, hard wood, while the hand-cut dovetailed joints on the drawers ensure the best strength possible. The locks and hardware have all been forged in England, just as they have been for centuries, so they are top-grade hardware just like the carefully selected burl walnut veneers. Finally, the plinth base offers very stable support for this credenza, which as a true heirloom quality piece should last for many decades to come!

  • Nathan Yong Line File Credenza
    dwr.com
“I have always been inspired by the simple forms of turntables and entertainment units from the 1960s,” says designer Nathan Yong – a remarkable statement when you learn that Yong grew up in a wooden hut by the sea, where he and his brother made their own toys and “waited for low tides so we could pick up treasures from the shore.” Growing up with the beach as entertainment, Yong developed into a resourceful designer, whose work captivated us with its quiet elegance. At Salone del Mobile , the annual furniture fair in Milan, Yong showed us his Line Media Console, and we liked the aesthetic so much that we asked him to expand the collection. He responded with a range of versatile pieces that blur the boundaries between dining areas, living rooms and workspaces. A smart office storage option, the Line File Credenza (2012) has two louvered doors, two drawers, two open cubbies and two file drawers with leather pulls for storing letter- and legal-size hanging folders. Constructed with leveling floor glides for uneven surfaces. Made in Malaysia.

    dwr.com
For more than 30 years, Giulio Lazzotti has maintained a diverse practice encompassing architecture, interior design and furniture design. He received the Torre Guinigi prize for his design for the historical center of Pietrasanta, Italy, and he is internationally recognized for his work in marble – so much so that he often teaches at the Academy of Art in Carrara, Italy (home to the famous white carrara marble quarries). When he designed our Quovis Collection, developed with an Italian restaurant equipment manufacturer, he set the standard for quality stainless steel utility furniture. The Quovis Credenza (2001) provides valuable concealed storage space, and includes one adjustable shelf and two sliding doors that move along an upper track. The Credenza has shelf intervals of 2.25" and integrated finger-pull doors. Designed with a sound-dampening solid substrate, the Credenza avoids the rattling and clanging of lesser-quality steel furniture. Easy to clean and maintain, the Credenza is rust resistant and constructed to endure years of use. Made in Italy.
  • Florence Knoll 2 Position Credenza
    hivemodern.com
Design Florence Knoll, 1961. Steel frame, wood veneer body with wood veneer or marble top. Made in USA by Knoll. Like so many of her groundbreaking designs that became the gold standard for the industry, the 1961 executive collection, including the series of credenzas, made there way into the pantheon of modern classics. Florence Knoll's designs are reserved and cool, severe and angular, reflecting the objective perfectionism of the early 1960s. While a student on the campus of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Florence Knoll Bassett became a protegée of Eero Saarinen. She worked briefly for Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Wallace K. Harrison. In 1946, she married Hans Knoll, after which they formed Knoll Associates. As a pioneer of the Knoll Planning Unit, she revolutionized interior space planning with her belief in "total design" - embracing all aspects of design principles which were radical departures from the standard practice in the 1950s, but were quickly adopted and remain widely used today. For her extraordinary contributions to architecture and design, Florence Knoll was accorded the National Endowment for the Arts' prestigious 2002 National Medal of Arts. 2 position credenza: 37.5" w | 18" d | 25.5" h. These elegant credenzas are offered in your choice of wood veneer on the sides & back panel, and a choice of either wood or marble tops. All the credenzas have polished aluminum pulls and a 3/4" thick top. Wood tops are finished with a transparent polyurethane coating. The base is available in either a polished or satin chrome finish. This credenza features four box drawers (each with one removable partition), and one full extension file drawer with two metal bars for file hanging. The Florence Knoll credenzas are also available with other finish options and in various configurations. Please call for details.

  • Geiger® Domino 3-Unit Credenza
    hivemodern.com
Design Isay Weinfeld, 2013. Wood veneer, metal base & pulls. Made in the USA by Geiger® Most storage units have interiors fitted to decades-old proportions. Recognizing this problem, Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld set about creating a smartly edited array of rectangular modules that are smartly edited to reflect our basic storage needs. Designing a system for combining modules so they could adapt to the appropriate heights for a credenza, sideboard, or desk. Creating Domino from the inside out by no means meant Weinfeld neglected the exterior. Beautiful detailing and craftsmanship are everywhere apparent: from the artful veneer application to the mitered corners. Domino is finished on all sides and can serve as a divider between a living and dining room as well as in an open plan office and is available in 26- (credenza) and 40-inch (sideboard) heights, two-, three-, or four-units wide, and in six formatting options. Finish options include walnut, santos palisander, and ebony, with chrome or satin chrome trim with a solid white ash interior. The pieces can serve anywhere in a room and in settings formal or casual. Please note: No 2 products made of natural materials look exactly alike and they will change color with age. Veneer: the lighter the stain, the more you'll see of the grain. Santos palisander has an exuberant grain pattern. Units with drawer boxes (which include stainless steel rods for hanging folders) or removable waste bin are quarter-cut natural ash with a hand rubbed tung oil finish. Locks are not available on these products. Three-unit credenza: 88.5" w | 17.75" d | 26" h | ships ready to assemble.
