I love Jennifer Crusie's older books - they are fun, funny, & truly an escapist read. Quinn McKenzie is the calm member of the family, the one who always fixes things, who solves every crisis, who takes charge in emergencies. She's spent her life glossing over anything that might make life bumpy until the day she meets a small, shivering stray dog & decides she want to keep her. While keeping a dog seems like a small thing to want, it leads to major upheaval in both her own life & to the lives of her friends & family. I love Quinn (& relate to her a little too much) & it is really fun to watch her smash her way out of her rut. Mind you, this is a romance novel so don't expect deep insights into the human condition; if you are looking for a fun read, I can't recommend it more highly. A word of warning, though, there is a character who stalks Quinn so if you have any concerns about stalking, please stay away.
PS I brought a pizza - if I forget to get it out of my bag, please remind me!
