  • Moroso Bohemian Tall Armchair
    hivemodern.com
Design Patricia Urquiola, 2008. Injected foam, resin frame, varnished steel, upholstery. Made in Italy by Moroso. Patricia Urquiola is the designer who best expresses Moroso's vision; she has therefore created the main range of the new Bohemian collection. She has taken a very original approach to classic capitonné work, giving it a revolutionary modern look. Creating emotions. Patricia's Bohemian family of products - sofa, chaise longue and armchairs - have very fluid forms, almost as if they were melting over their frame, creating soft, irregular, enveloping, almost casual lines, where the fabric or leather is fixed to the shell with press-studs. Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of. The Bohemian tall armchair features injected foam over an internal resin frame that sits on a steel swivel base. Very contemporary, a modern slant on a classic. This fresh approach was only possible thanks to Moroso's manual ability and know-how. As if they were working in a fashion atelier, Moroso's "tailors" treat the fabric with supreme nonchalance, transforming it at will, bringing it to life and giving shape to the designer's vision. Please note: one matching 23" seat cushion is included with your order. This product can also be ordered without a seat cushion (please call for to order). All other cushions seen in pictures are not included. Back side is covered in matching upholstery. Covers are removable. Tall armchair: 39.25" d | 36.25" w | 40.25" h | seat: 15" h | 23.5" d | base: 20.5" w.
  • Vitra East River Chair
    hivemodern.com
Design Hella Jongerius, 2014. Plastic laminate, polyurethane, wood, steel, upholstery. Made in Germany by Vitra. Products designed by Hella Jongerius exhibit her unique manner of fusing industry and craft, high- and low-tech, traditional and modern - characteristics which are also evident in the East River Chair: with its distinctive form and casual combination of such diverse materials as wood, metal, leather and fabric, this small armchair clearly bears the Dutch designer's signature. The colors of the East River Chair are carefully coordinated. Depending on the selection of color combinations, the chair has a very different look, ranging from muted and calm to cheerful and bright. The choice of colors and materials is not based on purely aesthetic reasons: the practical leather covers protect the armrests from dirt and wear, and the thicker padding of the seat cushion, which extends up to the backrest, provides comfortable lumbar support. Thanks to the convenient strap handle on the rear side of the backrest, this compact armchair lends itself to flexible applications. East River chair features a plastic laminate seat shell with polyurethane foam and covered in a variety of fabric combinations. The legs are either natural oak with powder-coated steel cross braces in ivory or dark oak legs with powder-coated steel cross braces in coffee. In 2013, Hella Jongerius and Vitra collaborated on the design of a chair for the North Delegates Lounge at the UN headquarters in New York. The development of the East River Chair was based on this design. East River upholstery options: light mix 01 - 82 plano (grey/stone), 71 hopsak (yellow/pastel green), 17 laser (ice blue/ivory), 71 leather premium (sand) red mix 02 - 77 plano (brick), 72 hopsak (yellow/poppy red), 30 laser (light grey/poppy red), 71 leather premium (sand) green mix 04 - 69 plano (dark grey), 70 hopsak (grass green/forest), 28 laser (light grey/forest), 67 leather premium (asphalt) blue mix 05 - 66 plano (nero), 84 hopsak (blue/moor brown), 20 laser (ice blue/moor brown), 67 leather premium (asphalt) 25.25" w | 28" d | 29.25" h | base: 20.75" w | 22" d | seat: 15.75" h.

  • Knoll Charles Pollock Armchair
    hivemodern.com
Design Charles Pollock, 1960. Chrome & black frame finish, leather. Made in USA by Knoll. "It starts as a thought, and then becomes an idea, something I might think about for years. Designed in 1960 and originally manufactured from 1964-79 and now reintroduced in 2014, the steel and leather 'sling chair' or '657', as it is commonly referred to, offers a refined combination of materials and finishes.
