Dear Shel,
You did a lot of things in your life. You were in the military, a cartoonist, wrote plays and songs, children's books, you even worked for Playboy. But to me the most important thing you did was write 'A Light in the Attic.' That book taught me that reading could be fun and I think it also influenced my weird sense of humor. It was the first book I ever loved and for that I think you are infinitely better then Dr. Seuss.
Forever your fan,
Ash
P.S.
'A Boy Named Sue' is a badass song.
