@riley5 i have cassettes and do still have a cassette player although they are packed away with the old vinyl records and I don't have anything to play them on anymore. I have packed away most of the VHS tapes now but can't quite birng myself to actually get rid of them yet! Maybe next time ;-)

I so feel your pain. I have a box of mix tapes from college that I can't part with and I don't even have a cassette player anymore!

@incogneato no kids for me to worry about. I do have some old college books and paperwork to sort through though, that's one of the things I've been putting off! I already gave a load to the local library when I finished the accounts course I was doing a few years back, they go out of date so quickly I knew I wouldn't refer back to them again. I tend to pack things away in bags and boxes then forget what's in them!

Don't get rid of the books ... you can dump the old college text books, but keep the others. More space also means kids moving home ... etc!

For a little while now I've been thinking about looking for somewhere new to live but know that I really need to get things straight where I live now before I can really make a proper decision. I'd like more space but then that means more rooms to clean!! At least I got rid of quite a few bits today, including my birthday cards from my 40th a couple of years ago. Was just hanging on to them for sentimental reasons but they're no use to anyone now, need to be strict with myself and let some things go!!
