great outfit! I have this skirt and though it is short (as some have mentioned) I wear it to work with tights and flats and it looks nice. The tights hide my legs so with the flats, it looks a bit more modest but still youthful and fun.

Thanks Sweetsy- I always forget about that feature they offer!

It's worth asking J Crew to lengthen for free as it is full price item. I am betting mine would be nice enough to do it. Give it a shot:)

Julize: Thank you for sharing that info w/ us! I'm so glad that you found a way to get the skirt to *work* for you- Yay!!! :) I LOVE this skirt- I think it is going to be a big seller!!

So cute--I've loved this outfit since the first day I saw it. FYI, for those don't like the length of the deco skirt, there's actually a really big hem at the bottom. I'd say it's about an inch and a half of extra material? I loved this skirt so much I took it to my tailor and had him let it out. I also sized up so it would sit lower on my waist. With the combination of those two fixes, it now hits me at the top of my knee (totally work appropriate). Hth!

Carrie- Yeah, that's really too bad that it is too short on you! :( I'm 5'8" so I'm surprised that it works for me (I guess this is one time that I can be thankful for my shorter legs! :-P )! I bet you could find another skirt to substitute this look though!

Kate- Thanks for the encouragement! ;) I will totally give your outfit idea a try- that sounds like something that I would totally wear!! Feel free to create some sets (for me!) w/ this top [hint, hint!! ;)] I'm sure I will end up keeping it! I just know that it will be one of those items that as soon as I return it I will be wanting it back again!!!

Thanks lcsmom! :D I'm so glad that you like it! I really should just try it on one fo these days! :-P

I would say the cardi is long but not too long (if you know what I mean)!?!? I am not a big fan of the really long cardis- but this one is just right IMO!! It doesn't cover my whole butt, just half of it! ;) Also, I would say that it's about the same length as the Michelles, Portlands, & Corsage Cardigans (not sure if you have or have tried on any of those???)! HTH!?! :)

I LOVE this outfit!!! I would be all about it if the baby bump wasn't in the way :) How is this cardigan - is it fairly long?

You know, I was looking back at some of these fall preview images yesterday and thinking how cool it is that now all these pieces are available! Ugh - wish that skirt was longer so that I could wear it. Love it. :)

don't return it!!! LOL! I love that it is part cotton - it feels less dressy to me than the silk versions. and the pattern is adorable. One the bottom half I wore HHF/mom jeans - it was really cute. give it a try ;)

Thanks for the comments gals! :)
I agree w/ cdp- mine looks pretty much like the picture as well!
And Kate, I may start w/ the top half look as well because it is definitely more practical in my life! ;) However, I still have not worn the geo francis and I have been debating returning it!?!? :-\ (As much as I do not want to...!)

LOL MMM - I did the top half of this outfit today - the geo francis, the cardi and the brown belt. It looked cute!

It is a very lovely outfit, no doubt about it! But I still don't think the frances or whatever it's called has as many beautiful, rounded ruffles like the sample above...do you? Even my polka dot kelsey isn't as ruffly (even steamed) as online/catalog pics.
