O1; Be Motivated

Before you start looking up exercises, make sure you find a motivation. Once you have this down pat, the rest should be relatively easy. Motivation may be wearing clothes you really like, thinspo, your favorite celebrity, it doesn’t really matter; As long as it inspires you.

O2; Find a time that works best for you

When you exercise, it should be during a time where it’s just you with no interruptions. It will be hard to stay focused if you have to stop multiple times while you’re exercising, and you won’t really see any benefits. So make sure you pick a time that won’t interfere with your regular schedule for stuff like homework, family time, hanging with friends etc.

O3; Find exercises that work for you

If your body isn’t used to working out, don’t jump into brutal exercises like pushups and pull ups. Start in moderation and gradually work your way up to the harder stuff. During your first few sessions, I suggest just stretching and get your body acclimated to moving around a bit. Then you start launching into the work-outs. Some exercises I suggest are: jumping jacks, running in place, jogging, jump roping, and if you can, pull ups. They’re easier
than push ups and help with building abs and upper body strength.

O4; Write everything down

Here is an example of a sample Fitness plan/entry

Rayhana’s Fitness Session #1
Bedroom, Tuesday, 4:30-5:00 P.M
Exercises: Stretching, jumping jacks, pull ups

When your session is finished, document what you accomplished and what you hope to accomplish, like a fitness journal. Write down plans like the sample I provided, kind of like a planner that you use for school.

O5; Challenge yourself

If you usually run for 30 minutes, start adding around five or so minutes on to that time. Set goals, and don’t just write them down, complete them. They’ll make you feel good about yourself.

O6; Reward Yourself

Reward yourself every once in a while. Don’t make it a habit after every single session or eventually you will slack off. But don’t be afraid to reward yourself. You deserve it!
