Hey it's @summergirl01 here!! So I thought of this tip because me and my friends love making these. They are so much fun!
There are a couple ways I know how to do it but I will have to look up some of the more advanced ones.
What you will need:
♥ Embroidery floss
♥ Ruler (If you want. I usually just use my wrist for sizing)
♥ A hard surface (To tape it to)
♥ A friend (You can ask them to hold it while you are making it instead of taping it to something)
What to do:
These are the different kinds of bracelets you can make.
Step 1: Measure out 3 strings of embroidery floss. You can use a ruler or your wrist to measure. Usually I would say around 18-24 inches. Keep in mind, the length will get smaller as you go since you are making knots in the bracelet.
They can be any color you want, but for this example lets use Red, White, and Blue.
Step 2: When you have your strings ready, tie them together at the top and either tape the end to a hard surface such as a table, or have a friend hold it.
Step 3: You have 3 strings. (For this example, they are Red, White, and Blue) Take a string and seperate it from the rest so that there are 2 strings next to each other and 1 string seperated from the rest.
Step 4: Take that single string and put it over the other two strings so it resembles a 4.
Step 5. This is your current shape: 4 take the single string that is bent over the other two and pull it underneath them through the hole. Or through the middle of the 4 if you want to look at it that way.
Step 6: You should have a knot now. Pull the knot tight and repeat steps 3-6, alternating colors. So say you just made a knot with the red string, now you make a knot with the blue string, etc.
Step 7: Once you are finished, tie a knot at the end and tie the two ends together. Cut off the string if it is really long, but leave enough string on the ends in case you need to take the bracelet off and re-tie it.
Wear and enjoy!
5 FINGER BRAID BRACELET:
This one is a little more difficult, but still simple enough. Once you get the hang of it, it will be super easy!
Step 1: Measure 5 different strings out to about 18 inches long. Once you have 5 different strings, fold them each in half so they make a loop. Put all 5 loops next to each other, and be careful not to tangle them. Tie them together at the top.
Step 2: Have a friend hold the end, or tape it to the table. (I find that having a friend hold it works much better, because the taped doesn't stick very well)
Step 3: Hook the loops around your pointer, middle and ring fingers on one hand, and your pointer and middle fingers on the other. Spread your hands apart from each other.
Step 4: On the hand that has only two strings on it, take the bottom finger, and take the string from your top finger from the other hand.
Step 5: Move the strings up so that hand is now the one with only two strings on it.
Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5, and don't forget to tighten as you go! (To tighten, just spread your hands apart from each other)
Step 7: When you're done, tie the end of the bracelet so it doesn't come undone, and tie the two ends together. Wear and enjoy!
I will research other ways, more to be coming soon!
